Is it ok that I burn/cut myself because it just feels good. Honestly, I'm mentally sane, I think my body just releases a lot of endorphins or whatever from pain. My body will feel warm and fuzzy and I feel energetic and good. Is my reaction to pain normal? Should I see a doctor?

>Honestly, I'm mentally sane
negative.

when you do it? or can you just fucking stub your toe on accident and wet your pants

>my body just releases a lot of endorphins or whatever from pain.

You get the same feeling from running for 15 minutes

i mean you could just hold and twist a jagged handle all the time and get really calloused hands, then become a boxer

posts die slower than a estranged uncle in a nursing home on this board

Sane? Ok.
Mentally "all there"? Not so much. I love the rush that comes after pain, but I don't inflict it on myself.

Well, I live a normal life, not depressed, not super happy, pretty boring life but that's all. Not sure how to tell if I have mental problems or not
That's a good question, it depends on the type/level of pain I think. Stubbing my toe would just be uncomfortable not really the same at all if I think about it and something like breaking my arm would still hurt a lot and be unbearable. But if it's the right type/level then it wouldn't matter if I inflicted it to myself or not.
You're right. But i do run/lift everyday and I really like that too but it's just really easy and convenient to hurt myself. It's about the thrills more than anything

do you get the same response from doing somthing risky or fear?

Cutting and burning yourself is obviously to your own detriment, if you have any foresight and judgement at all. It’s also bizarre to do it as like a passtime. Your mental health reading: questionable.

How can I check my mental health online or something like that? I personally feel fine in life and dont see any issues myself but is this something only a therapist could tell?
>I love the rush that comes after pain, but I don't inflict it on myself.
This doesnt make sense to me, if you love it, then wtf not just do it to yourself.
Yeah, I would say pretty similar.

regardless of your mental state that is self harm, a form of addiction and you need to stop as soon as possible
like any addiction you will end up chasing an unreachable high and will do damage for yourself
if you have trouble stopping yourself there is therapy available to help wean you off of self harm

Yes the release of endorphins and feeling good from it is natural. No you shouldn't see a doctor.

You should stop, not only because its what 13-17 year olds do to feel good, but because it can become a dependency based upon self-mutilation.

You're within your rights to do it to yourself, of course, but think about. Have you considered the fact that you will depend upon something that's hurtful to yourself?

as long you get the same release of chemicals more effectively from other sources and you don't do it intentionally you basically got
> +2 Strength for every point of HP Deducted

I don't self-inflict because I recognize that it's unhealthy for my body and mind in the long run.

this tread keeps coming back somehow

why don't you pick up cardio or cold exposure? same effect without the 'please help me someone' odor.

People who cut/burn themselves do it for attention. It's very visible way to cause self harm and you know it will get a response from others.

If you're looking for some way to cause yourself pain there are plenty of constructive things you can do, like running which is one of the most physically stressful things you can do, and at least you won't regret those burn scars in 20yrs because those don't go away.

Addictions give you happy feelings when you indulge in them. Self harm is an addiction. You should see a therapist/healthcare provider if it's to the point where you feel irritated/upset of you can't self harm and it's ruining your life. The fact that you're asking means that you know it's wrong so there's step 1 to stopping it.

John 8:31-36 KJV
31] Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32] And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33] They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
34] Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
35] And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
36] If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Rom 6:17-23 KJV
17] But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18] Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
19] I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
20] For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
21] What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
22] But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
23] For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Tit 3:3-6
3] For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.
4] But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared,
5] he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,
6] whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

This man is the man.

I already run a lot, and lift weights. Haven't tried cold exposure. What are other ways I can get the same effect? Problem is, usually it's just not enough and takes more effort to get that same response.
