Hi, I'm 18, my parents are making me get a shitty minimum wage wageslave job for the summer before I go to college. I had a job last summer and it was a miserable experience. How do I convince them to let me day-trade stocks instead of getting a shitty wageslave job I will hate. I tried telling them the knowledge I will learn trading stocks will go way farther for me in life than anything I could get out of a McDonalds job or whatever, but they wont budge.
Theres no reason for me to get a job, my parents can already afford all my college.
Also I will use my own money trading stocks not my parents
Sorry if I sound spoiled/entitled.

It sounds like you need to learn a few things. There are benefits to working low-tier jobs, stop being a little pussy bitch and do it. I fucking wish I didn't have to go into 80k in debt because my parents are europoors with no college funds. You got it easy mane, what's one fucking summer going to do, traumatise you for life? Plus, if you're so inclined to be a stocks master then do it in your free time, for fuck's sake
Sounds like a shitty job is exactly what you need. You probably don’t understand what hard work is. Working hard for shit money will help you.
Otherwise you’ll be a selfish, lazy and entitled faggot your whole life
>80k
God damn, I always complain about my 60k - glad to know there's actually others out there. Hang in there bro
OP, honestly retail is easy as dicks. You can go be a courtesy clerk and push carts/bag groceries for some meh cash. Just do that, trade at night or when you're off, and have money and a bit of experience to help you get started.
Get a job, the job market gives no shit that you went to school, just how many and how often you worked. But at sametime if too long in between jobs it can hurt you. So there, gave you a good reason to and against doing a job. Basically you don't know shit till you work and it will give you the drive to do well in school instead of stupid partying like animal house. But it will fuck you over in resume unless you work through school too.
>There are benefits to working low-tier jobs
please then, enlighten me with what I learned working with drug addicts and highschool dropouts last summer.
>Working hard for shit money will help you.
already did this, hated every second of it. Would much rather spend my time doing something actually productive and beneficial for me like stock trading/programming/reading/math.
> honestly retail is easy as dicks. You can go be a courtesy clerk and push carts/bag groceries for some meh cash
I know its easy but the boredom and having to deal with other people kills me inside.
>he job market gives no shit that you went to school, just how many and how often you worked
This may be true for most careers but for the field Im going into, putting highschool jobs or other unrelated low-tier work is bad practice to put on your resume(computer science).
Im excited to do internships and that kind of work, not fucking cleaning up literal shit on the floor from some retarded kid(actually what I had to do at my last job)
Its simple, OP. Most people your age buy that agency with a thing we call "Rent".
Make an agreement with your parents that you'll pay some minimal amount of rent each month. It can be way below the going rate for rent in your area, just some paltry amount to show them that you're not just sitting on your ass all day doing nothing and are in fact making money.
As long as you pay your rent on time, everyone has to stay the hell out of your personal business if you want them to. That's the tacit agreement we all have as adults with other adults, including parents. "I paid my bills on time, now fuck off." If you don't have any bills, then you're not an adult yet, and they're pushing you in this direction so that you'll start that cycle. As soon as you have a commute, you'll have a bill for transportation or fuel, and that makes you an adult.
The only difference between kids and adults in the broad strokes is that adults have obligations and are expected to meet them. Everything else, including being retarded or being a waste of space, is common to both children and adults. Kids don't pay bills though, adults do, so that's our metric.
this is actually a very good idea, thank you. I hope it will work.
>please then, enlighten me with what I learned working with drug addicts
You said it yourself in your own post, it will help you to deal with people.
Get over yourself and work or pay for your own education without help.
>putting highschool jobs or other unrelated low-tier work is bad practice to put on your resume(computer science).
This is flat out bullshit.
For your first career job, having previous work on your resume is important. No it's not related to the field, but it's proof that you have the dedication to turn up to work on your own motivation, to take direction, to work in a team, and to be a reliable person.
Look here you little shit.
The point of a job is to learn responsibly, working under a manager that has expectations and learing how to get shit done with people yhat you hate.
It’s to teach you to show up on time and to manage your off time correctly.
Fuck off with this day trading bullshit, fucking delusional.
My advice to you is to work at a hotel. Avoid food Service.
Plenty of irresponsible shitheads are allowed to live and function in society all over the world. We live in a world full of child molesters, crackheads, high functioning alcoholics, cheaters, liars and thieves. If they're allowed to be adults, there's no reason why getting a job and learning responsibility is a hard pre-requisite to being an adult.
Its simple. Does what you do make money?
Yes? Well then keep doing it.
No? Then get a job.
Not really, Its far more important for me to put CS projects and skills I know first over mundane work experience. Also I am playing a varsity sport in college, so I can use that to show I have leadership experience and dedication. And fuck, I could just make some shitty pizza serving job up if I really have to, its not like they would question it.
I see.
Reminds me of a phrase I once heard uttered from the mouth of a man that I consider to be very successful.
“If you’re not willing to work at McDonald’s and excel at the position, you will never become rich.”
Best of luck to you.
Getting a job will teach you that you don't control life, for one. and it might teach you to be fortunate
Working with people who have zero hopes and dreams will give you the encouragement to make something of your life.
You just don’t understand.
>will give you the encouragement to make something of your life.
I already have encouragement to make something of my life
I'm not quite the same as you, op. I was born into and continue to live in abject poverty. However, low-class work makes me suicidal. I can't hold a retail or restaurant job for more than a month or two. I'm going to get on disability because fuck this society
Thank them, you’re building a resume, that way when you’re at an interview you can let them see it ain’t your first rodeo, I went through that as well, now I thank my parents, at 18 i was already making cash and using my money on ymown stupid things, just look at Jow Forums, how many losers can’t get a job because they have 0 experience in whatever...
Well now you have more of an incentive. And hey, with the money you make you can trade more stocks. What books are you reading by the way in regards to this subject?
Hey man I'm OP and I truly feel for you. absolutely no shame in taking disability if it gets you out of wagesalvery. Good luck out there.
I found this google drive with a bunch of books drive.google.com
I stared with "trend trading for a living" also I'm reading "Quantitative Trading: How to Build Your Own Algorithmic Trading Business" by Ernest P. Chen for algorithmic trading since I'm interested in the CS side of investing too, the book is just ok so far though.
Do you have any suggestions I wonder?
Unfortunately I do not have any personal suggestions to share with you user as I am ignorant in the matter.
>Speculating on the stock market
>Productive
Top kek, it makes money sure but it's not productive. Even an awful McJob is more "productive" than being a stock trader.
>I don't have a job
>I've never had a job
>So let me tell you how much I know about job seeking
Fuck off OP, you're a stupid little zoomer faggot with no life experience. You think you're hot shit for no fucking reason.
>It's okay to fake disability to get NEETbux but I'll talk shit about "wageslaves" who actually work for their money
Charming.
Pull your fucking head in and listen to your parents. They're older than you. They know things that you don't.
>daytrading
How to lose all your money in 8 hours, the "job."
Go work a non-gay job like being a camp counselor or a pool boy. Fast food is fucking gay and you'll be surrounded by gay adults who are working at Burger Chef despite being 65 and in the literal same position as you.
That's your life after day trading your money away btw.
Let em get this straight. By reading this
>the knowledge I will learn trading stocks
You have little to no knowledge on trading stocks. This is why your parents might not let you do this is because you are more likely to loose a lot if not all of your money.
How are you going to be a trader with no money?
>Top kek, it makes money sure but it's not productive. Even an awful McJob is more "productive" than being a stock trader.
Not OP but being busy/using a lot of time doesn't mean it is productive. I could manually assemble robots and stuff, but it won't be as 'productive' as an automated machinery to do my work. Trading Stock would actually be more productive cause less time used to generate more income compared to McJob.
it's all about using your time wisely
Stock traders don't produce anything. They're simply speculating. Everything they earn is produced by somebody else's labor.
Oh you meant THAT kind of productive
Spoiled, entitled faggot. I’m out.
id start looking at job now find decent one.
wat about uber?
also apply at at job u want?
to work at.
hand out resumes. grocery store.
retail.
were lots of young girls work. less boring.
Don’t day trade. Tell me what’s your annualized return been? Do you even know what the order book is?
Thanks man. At least you can sympathize a bit. I'm guess we're reaching the same conclusion but from different principles. Either way, I would recommend as many people get disability so that we can bleed this machine dry.
>Top kek, it makes money sure but it's not productive. Even an awful McJob is more "productive" than being a stock trader.
The point is I will learn far more important and interesting things that way than at a McJob where I would be just wasting my time
>>I don't have a job
>>I've never had a job
>>So let me tell you how much I know about job seeki
I didnt make that up, it's from research I have done about job seeking in my field and it's the truth
>>It's okay to fake disability to get NEETbux but I'll talk shit about "wageslaves" who actually work for their money
Yes, wageslaves are literal retards
>How to lose all your money in 8 hours, the "job."
Sure, if you're retarded and put all your money in one stock
The point is I will gain knowledge reading and learning about the subject, I don't expect to become rich it's just an interest of mine I want to pursue
I have my own money saved.
Bro what you gonna do when your parents kick. What if the kicked tomorrow? Could you honeslty say you have the wisdom and knowledge to run your own house efficently and at a net gain? Do you have the social skills nessicary to work along side mong tards and window lickers effectively in case you fuck up day trading? Get the job learn a few more things ans if your smart research trades on your break for stocks you can buy with the money you earn at mc fattys. Or you know just day trade and limit your self to one income that highly dependent on luck and moods of older men buy amd selling habits. Good luck kid, so you best
