If a character that was meant to be the butt of jokes and a stubborn anti-progressive is looked upon now as a character with great wisdom. And virtually everything he was supposed to be duped on evolved into a mess much worse than anyone could have imagined.

He wasn't supposed to be that one-dimensional. Any time he was prejudice you weren't supposed to relate to him, but he was made to be reasonable too so he's not unlikable by everyone. Michael was written the same way. Even though you may hate his liberal point of view, he never got to the point of complete unlikable insanity that you see from the left today.
Archie knew.
check out "in the heat of the night" if you liked his character
BOOMER ALERT: OP IS A BOOMER AND HIS OPINION SHOULD BE DISGARDED IMMEDIATELY.
At this point, meathead would have voted Trump. He would not have liked what the left became.
Archie was the parents of the boomers.
Kys queer
This show is based.
I saw one episode where Archie refered to a fag as a "fruit". I thought of the chaos that would ensue if a modern show did that. Christ it would be funny. I can't believe they show reruns of the old show on tv. You'd think there would be more outrage over it.
Some agendas are pushed harder than others atm.
Chicken pox I can understand, but measles? Seems like irresponsible writing.
I watched that episode yesterday. Feminism was being pushed in it while laughing at the measles.
Today the vaccines are being pushed hard.
I remember as a kid that measles was nothing to laugh at. It was chicken pox that was seen as ok, since the body developed an immunity and survived most of the time. But measles was a common disease that you got the immunisation from, because fuck getting that shit.
Honestly, I don’t blame the anti-vaxers for the return of measles. If anything they were the first victims of its return. I lay blame at illegal immigrants who lived in areas where measles was common. Hell, in Afghanistan, you wouldn’t believe how often tuberculosis tests came back positive on the locals. That stuff was everywhere!
Something tells me that episode of the Brady bunch was more irresponsible writing than anything else.
Not to say that I trust vaccines 100% I think that there are way too many of them. But the simple classical vaccines should be enough, why we have so many today in a country that has eradicated so many illnesses through vaccination puzzles me.
We need that wall now, and we need to keep the poor hygene and unvaccinated third world out.
he was still a fag for how he treated his wife
It was for comedic value. Watch the episode where she had died. It’s heartbreaking like none other.
all in the family was a subversive show created by the jew norman lear. youre supposed to laugh at how dumb and backwards archie is.surely you dont want to be anything like him now do you, goy?
Yet, years later... archie’s spirit rose from the grave and we knew... he was right!
It was made by boomers and for boomers so they could all have a laugh at how backwards their parents were.
The faux and manufactured hysteria is proof vaccines are a sham
>But measles!?!
Kek
Did your mom make you wear a bike helmet and kneepads when she took you for a walk? Did the leash leave a mark?
What a pathetic lot these later generations.
No, user, measles is only a threat to the most biologically vulnerable...the same who could die from an infection on a skint knee.
Starting to think we need some real adversity to toughen the youngens up.
They don’t know how to admit they are wrong. So they double down. They can’t risk the public knowing that they aren’t perfect. Hell, the first polio vaccine was a major failure! But for whatever reason, they didn’t bullshit past it. They tried again and got it right. I am not sure why we can’t go back to those days. The ability to trust relys a lot on the other party disclosing when mistakes were made.
That's exactly the thing. Archie was made to be laughed at and mocked, but the public liked him more than any other character and is why the show was popular. The show was meant to make the audience walk away with progressive values but the public did the opposite and identified with Archie more than the other characters. Fucking Meathead was meant to be the moral voice of the show.
"Archie refered to a fag as a "fruit"."
In another episode Archie refers to "that tribe" and Carl' boy 'Meathead' (`Michael Spivac', a Polack) goes ballistic with SJW rage.
Look at Reiner today, Perlman-tier.
Archie was dropping red pills left and right, and Norman Lear thought we laughing at Archie, when we were laughing with him.
So, after Archie and Edith room and board--and puts up with Meathead for years--now asst' professor/eternal boomer `Spivac' winds up leaving Archie's little goil flat with a child, for a grad ass't thot.
EFTime.
They spin off The Jeffersons from that show and the shit gets even deeper. Then Mary Hartmann, etc. Back then you could see TV becoming Leared--dying before your eyes.
Today we've got Schitts Creek, a sitcom. The state of channel TV.
It wasn’t the survivability of measles it was more or less complications developed from it.
And no, I didn’t wear helmets growing up. But it was also back in the day when kids used to go to the er all the time because they’d play ninja turtles with actual knives and other dumb shit. Heck, mr. Rodgers wrote a whole episode to kids about discerning reality from fiction on television.
Awareness brings caution. When the public saw rampant kidnappings across the country, they stopped letting kids out of their site. Part of this was also due to the shift away from agrarian society and thus having less kids. In my grandparent’s days people had five + kids. My grandparents even managed to go through a tragedy of losing a child when today we try so much harder to avoid that. (A toddler drowned in a wash tub)
That’s why I lean on the writing being irresponsible. But I know measles is survivable, but at the same time you don’t want it becoming an outbreak.
If SARS ever gets worse, maybe they’ll memory hole the blankets rolled with Asian men episode that featured the powerful white people folk medicine of sprite and cough syrup. Kek.
Archie Bunker was the predecessor to Al Bundy.
The show was pretty funny until they jumped the shark with the Judith gets raped episode.

I come home from work in the morning and sometimes catch an episode on Sundance. Shit was before my time, so every episode is new to me. I really ponder what yesterday’s old people thought, and this show gives a glimpse into that. What I also like is how absolute shit that house is. They didn’t bullshit and promote consumerism and outlandish exploits that in the real world are financially impossible. The terrible condition of the house shows this. The whole thing is great, because it feels authentic. Remember, when I watch the show, every episode is new. Also, I see the perspective of what meathead did to the world when he had control of it. And crazy thing is, archie’s Criticism strikes with better ferocity. Even when the idea was to make Archie the dummy, his simple answers are no more than a simple dismissal of the boomer’s rebellion. Knowing what has come, makes me understand that sometimes clarity doesn’t happen until after a generation has died off. This explains why hitler said his spirit would rise from the grave. The subverted generation can never admit fault. Watching All in the Family today, and I can see the error of my parent’s ways.
Yes, but when Zoomers watch the show today, what do they see? Blacks not dressed like thugs, a present black father, parents that allowed their joke of a son in law to live with them so that their daughter wouldn’t suffer, a wife that cooked and cleaned, a simple home devoid of consumerism.
While it was subversive in its time, it is a redpoll today.
>Judith gets raped episode.
"Edith" - and the funniest thing is they made the rapist a white guy.
Cuz we all know when an old lady is raped out of the blue by an intruder, the perpetrator is white.
They saw a myth that propelled them down a slippery slope.
The laugh track makes it shit, but it was a good redpill at the time because sick fucks were getting old lady’s a lot. It was so bad even Carlin made a joke about how absurdly sick dudes who raped eighty year old women had become.
It was a redpill about open borders.youtube.com
bad
Exactly, they see a contrast of how the world was then vs the vision of the future juxtaposed with the reality of today.
Watching all in the family all but confirms the slippery slope.
We know it’d be a dindu today or a shitskins. But Ted Bundy was what they had to work with.
"What are you thinkin' Al?"
Al stares straight ahead with hands down pants.
"Peg, if I wanted you to know what I'm thinking, I'd be talking."
>how bad have things gotten
you wanna know how bad?
DNA is racist. Thats how bad things are.
Show was written by jews and niggers to make white people look and sound like total trash.
White trash was featured by (((them))) on television throughout the 90’s. The only guy who gave them a positive overcoming image was Vince McMahon
