There was this guy on death row that requested to be executed via nitrogen asphyxiation instead of lethal injection.
1. Supreme court low IQ justices couldn't understand fucking anything about it. Even though several states had already approved the method, it hadn't been used yet so they said "nah, you have to do it the objectively
worse way". Don't really give a shit about the guy, but nitrogen asphyxiation is way cheaper, reliable, fast, and painless. Literally strap a mask on them, attach it to a tank of nitrogen, and they're unconscious in under a minute and dead within 20 guaranteed.
2. The lawyer for the dude had a rough time of it because they kept asking about what so and so doctor said about it. But, guess what? The American Medical Association which dictates rules for all doctors has taken the political stance that capital punishment is unethical, so no doctor can assist, advise, or participate in any way in carrying out an execution. They even say you can't do shit like treat somebody that's declared incompetent to be executed if that treatment will lead to their execution by being declared competent again.

3. This is fucking stupid. They claim this shit about how doctors must "do no harm" and how they also have a responsibility to treat those that are suffering. If this guy was going to be executed no matter fucking what then refusing to advise the supreme court or states about a manner of execution that's going to cause less suffering goes against their own fucking principals. I can't understand this shit. It's absurd. And a doctor will probably lose their job and malpractice insurance to never be employed by anyone ever again, and maybe their license as well, so it's pretty fucking difficult if you want to go against this policy.
