I am absolutely sick and tired of these damn e-scooters being left all over my yard.
What would happen if I took them to the metal recycler? They make them out of hefty ass metal which should net a tidy profit.

Just do it and comeback and tell us what happened
Just find the first drugged out looking hobo and give it to them. Make him give you a cigarette and as much change as he has. Just tell him it has a huge battery, they love batteries for some reason.
Just get a hack saw and quickly cut the frame at night.
These fucking companies need to learn to protect their property better.
They have GPS trackers and will come to collect them if they notice someone has more than one at their house. They remain property of the scooter company and you would get charged with felony theft and property destruction.
Can I sue them for their property being left on my property (land) constantly?
Complain to the city.
>zoomer abandons scooter on amerilard’s front lawn
>cited by HOA
>cops come and arrest you for theft of property
>sued by scooter companies
Land of the “””free”””
Also, chucking them violently off your property might damage them, so you certainly don't want to do that when there's no witness around. That would be bad.
There is a towing company in Cali that got sick of their shit and started impounding them at the request of property owners. They have 1000's. One of the companies paid them, but now are being jews and claiming the tow company stole them.
nice
Sooooooooo, remove the GPS tracker before you do anything with it.
Just pile them in your neighbors yard. Or find a house full of niggers and leave them on their front lawn.
Just cut the break wire.
There are companies that collect scooters left on private land for more than 24 hours, store them and then charge the scooter company a fee to get the scooter back. The 2 biggest companies doing this are in a lawsuit with the scooter companies. If they are on your property for more than 24 hours impound them and inform the scooter company you are charging extremely high storage and collection fees.
You have to go back
Most of the weight is in the battery
Oh shit someone left it on your property. Finders keepers guess it's yours now.
They have GPS on them, you're going to get caught nigger
>sick and tired of these damn e-scooters being left all over my yard
build a fucking fence, you lazy sod
just slash the tires
>post sign on property stating any scooter left for more than 24 hours will be assessed a daily storage fee of $50
>collect and store scooters in back yard
>contact scooter company with invoice
>legal profit
>they love batteries for some reason
Can confirm
>They have GPS trackers
where is the tracker located on the scooter? asking for a friend.
btw, does anyone want to buy a used electric scooter?
I heard these got banned in Milwaukee because people were driving them drunk, and leaving them in the middle of the downtown roads.
Does it have something to do with the lead inside?
>>>
Recycling centre gives $$$ for batteries. More than a bag of cans.
>claiming the tow company stole them.
I made this claim too when my illegal parked property was towed. :(
Pull the GPS chips, grind off or bondo serial numbers. Spray paint, or part out. Sell at local swapmeet for 20 dollars. You won't spend much time or money chopping them up.
>remove the GPS tracker
far far away from your residence
Or wrap it in tinfoil
If it was a car, you could put a lien on it, but not being registered, you would just do what other anons have said and call the company explaining they have 24hrs to retrieve it and will be subject to a "reasonable" storage fee.
Harbor Freigh has an AMAZING (for Harbor Freight) portaband that goes on sale for $95 often.
Get some DeWalt blades for that and you can cut anything unrecognizable in minutes. The Vietnamese blade it comes with is filth.
Galvanized steel trash can as faraday cage. Also do first disassembly in can, on its side with lid slightly obscuring opening (GPS or 3g). GPS is easiest to overcome.
Wrap it in a towel then pull the chip out
The parkway isn't your property I believe. If that's where they are leaving them.
Could just ride them into wooded area or toss down embankment. No neighborhood kids around to wreck them on a drunk rowdy liquor binge?
>e-scooters being left all over my yard.
I don't wanna know what shithole you live in,but I hope you can leave soon.
Okay niggers. You tired of scooters?
Here's how you can help your city.
>toss the scooters in a creek
>Get bolt cutters and cut those brake cables
If they ever show up near me I will do all in my power to burn them/ throw them in water/ destroy in any way possible
What's the best way to take them out? Gasoline? Puncture battery? Was thinking lighter fluid and set fire to electrical bits
this
I ask as a rural person. These are rental scooters? And people leave them laying around when they are done with them or something? Don't have to return them?
This is not entirely true. In my city the company that tried this had no licenses or permits with the city, so they declared that any out on the streets at night could be considered abandoned property. Plenty of homeless would take them and sell them for scrap, and the city refused to do shit about it.
If it’s left on your property, charge them for storage or dispose of it as you see fit
Or drive it out to the boonies, far away from where you live. GPS is irrelevant if it reveals nothing. What are they going to do, call the local cops and complain that someone stole a scooter?
>portaband
one of these
Ah, that's awesome. My city gave them a protected status.
Galvanized trash can, space blanket, metal tool shed or shipping container..... To block GPS in transit and on site. Start looking for tiny coax or GPS "can" chip and or 3g parts. Paint it and sell wherever stolen shit moves near you. Some of the models are near 300usd online
Take the magnetron out of a microwave and wire it up to a car and just drive around and fry their electronics, put the co out of business.
the virgin grinder dust inhaler vs the chad portaband destroyer
The battery on these things only lasts for so long. The tracker will probably stop working if it's not picked up and recharged in 72 hours.
Gotta come up with 2kw mobile ac, and a wave guide, and hope to God you don't blind yourself, or get caught using one in public (use against drones research). Just pull and bypass GPS chips and sell em. Cost the company money and make a couple sheckles for yourself.
Very AnCap thinking. I like it. I bet if you post a sign saying "Any and All Vehicles or Modes of Transport left on this property are subject to storage fees of $30 per day with a one day minimum storage fee by their owners upon return", it would be nice and legal.
I avoid my Screaming Satan as much as I can. I'm not a fan of disks made of Explodium spinning at 13,500 RPM.
>These are rental scooters?
Yes
>And people leave them laying around when they are done with them or something?
Yes
>Don't have to return them?
Nope, they have freelancers pick them up, charge them and set them back at designated spots.
Some anons like to seeth about them but they've been fine in my town.
>tools are an extension of my masculinity and p-penis
Do what ever you like fren.
Obviously you've never seen one of these destroy thick locks, chains and rip thru metals.
How are companies allowed to essentially leave litter all over a city and collect money from people temporarily using the litter?
Bribes to City Council.
Cities are desperate for ways to get cars off roads and this is a trendy solution. The companies also argue that they are bringing mobility to underserved communities, but that's a bold faced lie. One company got caught in San Fran blocking off the poorest neighborhoods so that it was impossible to end rides there.
>Memeflag
>Non politics related
Fucking chink
People throw them into the Willamette River in Portland. The idiots who use these things are reckless and it's hard to believe that there haven't been more deaths, all things considered.
Previously homeless, can confirm. We love batteries because they have so many uses for those with enough know how. You can use them to create heat and stay somewhat warm if you're in a part of the country that gets cold, you can turn them into makeshift lights, and you can sell them if they're decent enough.
There's an underground homeless battery operation where they are bartered for and traded to smarter homeless folks who actually know their value. Every now and then some strung out druggy will trade you one for a few cigarettes or a small amount of drugs. Sometimes they're stolen or found in abandoned cars on the side of the road. It's really pretty interesting.
If you want to find out more about the world of underground battery bartering amongst the homeless, you can check out www.ijustmadeallthisshitup.com
Shit left on the curb is legally garbage in almost any jurisdiction but I would destroy the electronics anyhow. A quick blow torching out to do the trick. Let em wonder where their shit went.
My neighbor is a "juicer" as they call themselves. He goes around collecting them and then charges them. Back of his truck is always full of at least 20 at a time.
They are full of fine vaping batteries. My prime source. High discharge, high capacity. Good shit. Rewrap, resell; bobs your uncle.
I cull a scooter every year to get my vape mods through the hard winter. By dying it provides life to my family and is the natural order of things.
kek
FUUUUUUCK
>what is a gps/cell scrambler
they'd probably pay the invoice because their accounting department doesn't give a fuck
Yeah, I just happen to have one of those on me at all times.
>Unattended property will be forfeited
Did you read the sign?
Yeah. The city in my area allows homeowners to drop off abandoned scooters if they've been on your property for over a week. Of course they never verify it, so yeah.
1. buy cheap cordless power drill, especially the kind where the handle is straight like a flashlight instead of like a pistol
2. carry it with you in your jacket at all times
3. see one laying around? drill the electrical box part of it (varies based on model)
if everyone did this the problem would sort itself overnight
you nigger and a half
The lithium from the battery is probably worth a little bit to a meth cook
>they love batteries
Good to know some things haven't changed since my homeless summer of 2002.
They.fucking.love.batteries.
This + take pix.
If lion (18650 vapos) or lipo batts strategic drilling of motherboard battery or motor will cost the company. Battery is fun cuz sometimes they run away and catch fire.
These fucking things are far worse - far, far worse.
>What's the best way to take them out?
cordless drill, longish self tapping screw, ability to locate the battery, and walk away. Not recommended on rainy days.
Theres no stopping him now.
FPBP
/THREAD
it was only a coincidence the tow company also owned a bike rental shop that lost business to the scooters
Why not toss them in the trash can on trash day? Id imagine after losing a few garbage trucks fromt he batteries ignighting from being crushed the city would do something
.. scooters apparently
>hack saw
>quickly
memes aside does anyone know where the GPS chip is located on these?
I'm pretty sure it's on the device attached just under the handlebars. The building engineer at the building I work at has stored 3 of them in his office in the parking garage and is going to tear it apart when he gets a free day to do it and figure out how to deactivate it. Wish I knew how to right now though because I'd tell you.
They're an absolute pain in the ass here in Denver. Ever friday and saturday drunk people are always purposely laying them across the light rail tracks and at least one person gets hit by the buses here a month while riding them. People act straight up retarded with them.
Saw a homeless guy bashing one to pieces right outside my apartment about a week ago.
But I know that the GPS tracker cant pick them up when they're in our underground parking garage. They get ditched all over the place inside and are never picked up.
Well, it shouldnt have been following him.
based as fuck. (((marc andreesson))) the egg headed faggit is the main one pushing all these garbage companies
I read on /diy/ that theres a camera inside that takes a pic if you open them up and sends it to the company.
lovely
big if true
That wouldn't surprise me. But if you were in a location where it couldnt send the picture out, then it wouldn't really matter.
how about building a fence? has the added bonus of stopping people letting their dogs shit on your turf.
I cant build a fence that extends past my house. Its against the codes.
No way. You can't put up a simple fence like this?
