Turkey has the problems of suffering from military purges, due to coup events, as well as the quality of their units being a mixed bag when it comes to competence due to conscription. They allegedly have very good SF units and air command but their land forces are kind of like Russia:s and China:s. Some have access to modern equipment and others have to settle with 1970-1980:s upgraded cold war era equipment.

Turkish army is slowly moving away from draft. Right now they have around 70,000 profesionall soldiers with 4 year service terms and around 300,000 drafted with 2 or 1 year draft duration.
