1911
only moviefag boomers know what a beretta is.

Left because it is so prevalent in media that even people who know nothing about guns at least know it by appearance.

1911, dummy. The Beretta's greatest claim to fame is being Detective Martin Riggs' piece. 1911 is an actual weapon of war, used by heroes across Europe.

>weapon of war

Pls fucking kill yourself if you dont know the answer already

Hi-Power

The M1911 without a doubt. You don't go being well loved over a century in service and go out without a massive fucking legacy.

Attached: Tokarev_TT-33.jpg (700x466, 143K)

>implying anything about the Tokarev pistol is worth remembering

>The Beretta's greatest claim to fame is being Detective Martin Riggs' piece.
Wut

They're equally iconic, but in different ways.

1911, hands down.

The Glock 7 is more memorable than the Beretta

>They're equally iconic, but in different ways.
How so? The 1911 is legit famous, and the barretta is something that a few cops carried.

It was the most prevalent handgun in media from the 80s to the early 2000s

1911 by far. Virtually every single pistol today uses short recoil (ya ya ya, 22, 380 need not apply). Any thing JMB touched is more iconic and more important than Italian trash. But I will admit external trigger bars are sexy AF.

1911 to Jow Forums
Beretta to people alive through the late 80's and 90's.

1911, followed by S&W 27/29, generic Glock brand block profile, SAA, and then finally 92FS. I could be persuaded that 92FS beats SAA, just because cowboy movies are going out of style.

Glock 19

The 1911 but lmao @ all these neo-fudds who think only a select group of people would recognize the Beretta.

It's just a bootleg 1911 with poor audio and you can see people moving around at the bottom of the frame.

That's not a glock

They're both famous. Even before I liked guns I knew what both were.

>being this retarded

Attached: 1523506253637.gif (267x200, 729K)

They are both famous.
Id say 1911 because cod fags and what not

The berreta is also well known being on multiple movies, shows, games, etc

Both where used by the US military
I preffer berettas desu.

Attached: 20180411_105836.jpg (2967x3701, 3.12M)

I prefer 1911 but...

that gold plated Para doe

Blocks aren't iconic, they're just common.

Think of this from a movie going normie's perspective.

1911's are immediately associated with the American military in WWII.
The 92FS is immediately associated with hard boiled cops and cheesy one liners.
The SAA is immediately associated with cowboys and the old west
The Block is... that one you see sometimes, you think you heard was made of plastic or something?

In order to be iconic, a gun needs to represent a specific thing, like a Walther PPK represents James Bond. Blocks don't represent anything except "movie that has generic henchmen or guards in it."

>Beretta
>founded before 1526
>somehow people think they're nobodies who's only claim to fame was a couple action movies

based correct post

>The Block is... that one you see sometimes, you think you heard was made of plastic or something?
I'd argue it's an icon of modern cop shows/movies/video games.

>few cops
>entire US army

Kek

>Implying the 7.62 Tokarev round isn't worth remembering

Yeah.

beretta
whats that? a cheese spread?

another contender appears

Glock and Wesson in 45mm

>moviefag boomers
Fuck off

>sig
>iconic
it's nice, but not iconic.

1911 is much more iconic but I'd take the Beretta into battle over it.

>first two guns are a beretta and then a 1911
1911 more iconic
Beretta almost as iconic
Both fun to shoot
Both belong in every collection.

8-round mag = fail.
Its like a gun that dianne finestine would make.

Attached: merchant-finestein.png (281x432, 215K)

You're an idiot. I think Glocks are massively overrated, but they are iconic. Would you say a Volkswagon Beatle is not iconic? It is literally known for being a basic-bitch car that "just werks" and it's extremely iconic. The fact that even little kids and normies can identify a Glock by its sillouette alone makes it an icon.

More iconic? Definitely the 1911. I think the 92 looks better though, it’s my favorite gun as far as looks. The 1911 is really nice looking too, definitely in my top five list.

>Would you say a Volkswagon Beatle is not iconic? It is literally known for being a basic-bitch car that "just werks" and it's extremely iconic
you have no idea what you're talking about.

guns haven't been around that long silly

An opponent leaves just as suddenly as hes joined

Impressive, very nice bait

Attached: patrick-bateman-american-psycho-.png (1018x676, 634K)

poppy said she likes the way this one looks

I have that same fuckin Kershaw!!! I love that little fucker

>guns haven't been around that long silly

Attached: 1513970331599.png (817x443, 14K)

Not implying, stating.

This is a contender, along with the Model 36. It's the quintessential pre-1980's cop/criminal firearm.

Attached: S&W_M10.jpg (537x400, 27K)

>one has very distinct visual feature, open slide
>manufactured by iconic company with half a millennium of history

>the other is a century old JMB design
>no notable visual features to make it iconic
>manufactured by literally whos
>probably in american war movies???

1911 is more iconic than 92FS, but Berettas in general are more iconic and recognizable than any specific model

Volkswagon Beatles are iconic because they're associated with a certain time period and certain types of people. Namely hippy scum, but that's not really the car's fault.

Glocks aren't Beatles though. They're Honda Civics. Anyone /might/ use one, but when you see one nothing in particular comes to mind because they have no unique character or associations.

porcelain guns from Germany cost more than id make in a year.

The open top slide is really distinctive

But the 9mm was designed to wound while 45acp was designed to kill.

Was this a fucking joke?

>MUH SOLDIERS GUN

The 1911 is more iconic but the 92 is my preferred gun. Its also niot far behind, being the premier handgun from the 80s and 90s. Well known cop arm and shows up in virtually all the classic action flicks. Great gun.

>taking her opinion seriously after she loads snapcaps into the mag and calls them hollow points

we all know about water to wine thing. who knows what's she's capable of

sig sauer isnt a household name though. The pistol itself is Iconic, but if you say Beretta, glock, smith and wesson or colt people know what youre talking about and maybe even the gun itself
FN, Walther, Sig, Ruger, Taurus, Remington can all get fucked apparently

fuck outta here

Attached: abc3-960x675[1].jpg (960x675, 132K)

Depends on the specific gun though, most people think Bond when I me ton Walther, maybe it's just the crowd I'm in though

NOT A SOLDIER'S GUN

A CHALLENGER APPEARS

Attached: images.jpg (345x146, 6K)

Glocks are iconic of small guns in general. Just look at antigunner signs involving handguns.

1911, is this a serious question?

Attached: 3466843ry6gty541sd63g541dg6f.jpg (1762x1496, 910K)

the 1911 is more iconic the beretta is the better gun

I'm trying to think of a movie with the Beretta and I come up with nothing.
The 1911 appears at the end of Saving Private Ryan, and some chrome ones are in Pulp Fiction.
I checked imfdb. I really thought the Beretta was more common.

The ones in pulp fiction are actually 9mm STAR Spanish pistols.

BIG MEMES TOMORROW MY BROTHERS!
>i hope they still have them in stock when i go to the store in the morning.

Attached: bang bang (3).jpg (3024x4032, 1.6M)

Mojave patrolling and desire for nuclear winter aside, the BHP is not that iconic for anyone who isn't a fedora-wearing gun nerd.

>FULL LENGTH GUIDE ROD!?

Die Hard and Lethal Weapon are the most obvious ones, it's 95% of the pro-Beretta side's argument

Lemme give you a little help.

imfdb.org/wiki/Beretta_92_pistol_series#Film

half correct. Travolta does have an actual .45 from Auto-Ordinance.

>The Block is...
iconic of niggers.

dual berts are more iconic than gay cod gun

Attached: IMG_20160621_161802.jpg (1000x1336, 631K)

Agreed

Attached: DF0DE470-1935-4FA4-A748-C6FF87F43943.jpg (338x319, 86K)

That title goes to the Mac
10.... which is just an even larger brick.

>Basically anything directed by John Woo starring Chow Yun Fat, (eg. The Killer, A Better Tomorrow (both ones), Hard Boiled) These movies were arguably the birthplace of dual wielding in modern popular culture.
>Black Lagoon (main character carries two polished ones with elongated slides)
>The Matrix

1911, the 92 really was iconic with the john wu movies if I recall. However, the 1911, WWI, WWII, pistol of fudds for over a century. As far as iconic goes, 1911 takes it
t.i own a 92s

Nice piece

Don't you ever forget it. It will always be there to remind you

Not really; blocks could be interchangeable with each other. Think of a character that uses a block or a block clone. Do you really associate them with the gun the same way you associate guns with with Harry Callaghan, Paul Kersey, etc?

No.
