Are timex watches Jow Forums?

People are always jizzing about japanese watches (seiko 5, g-shocks) but timexes are cheaper and just as reliable as them jap watches

all watches are Chinese made. Even Hamilton

If you want an analog watch that is quartz(battery) powered, get a Casio Marlin and put a NATO strap on it.
Timex isn't bad(it's damn close), but I wouldn't trust it while washing my hands.

my timex broke after 6 months don't fucking buy one

Timex Datalinks are certified for use in space just like G-shocks, which is neat.

Seiko 5's are jizzed over because they're an affordable mechanical watch that doesn't use any plastic gears like a Swatch, which is unrelated sort of attraction.

Anyone have any experience with older 7 jewel watches?
I've got my eye on an old soviet watch but I'm not sure how to feel about it being 7 jewels

>using these more expensive watches that will eventually break on the field
>not stocking up on a bunch of inexpensive and disposable Casio F-91W (or any of it's variant)
on other news, my seiko 5 is having issues after less than a year, watch won't recharge when i shake it side to side. Still a pretty neat watch

As much as love nice watches, I end up wearing this.à

Pay atleast a 100 for a decent watch poor fag.

Just get disposable field watches.

I've got a watch that I've crawled through mud with, done push ups on cement with, swam with, run with. if i can trust the label as much as i trust the watch, the battery has another eight or ten years left.

it cost like 25 dollars and maybe I'm wrong but i believe you got ripped off.

also got a 45 dollar dive watch that looks like a Rolex and can dive 293m deeper than i can. honestly, what are you paying for?

but user, that is a very nice watch

To be fair, Lemania movements are or at least were well regarded, and used in watches for military use, and they had plastic parts. Swatch also sent a number of quarts watches for chronometer testing and a large number came back certified.

Citizen watches are the only way to go

Those don’t keep time well. You’ll lose a half second a day and after a few months you’ll be off by a minute

Yeah but 6 bucks and they have an alarm function.

don't they generally have a quartz movement?
do you like TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK all the fucking time?

I got Citizen AT0200-05E five years ago and have worn it nearly everyday, no problems yet. It is solar powered so you never have to worry about a battery, just let it get a little bit of light.

Anybody have experience with the current Automatic Hamilton Khaki watches, as far as precision and durability goes?

I've always had good luck with the Swiss Army watches. YMMV and I don't think they're quite what they used to be (though they're far more expensive than they used to be)

I broke two Timex expeditions when I was doing some pretty basic field training, both of them broke at the knob you turn to adjust the time.
I love the way they look though, and the ticking does help me sleep so I might buy another later.

I'm not a high-speed, go-fast snake eater.
You're not, either.
No one believes you are.
Stop kidding yourself.
My Timex keeps good time and didn't cost a car payment.
You will like it.
Move out smartly and go buy one.

I bought a $100 citizen that I love.
Had it for 4 years now without issue. Just changed the strap to a nato and it's been g2g

These are good but this is the most Jow Forums digital watch.

Is there any place to get the GW-5000 at a non-ridiculous price apart from importing from Japan? I would love to get the fancier model of the GW-5160 with the metal case and back.

I wear this almost everyday since I don't really need anything aside from the time.

TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK

timex are shit and break all the time

>oh no my watch sounds like a watch

>oh no my watch sound like a watch that you can hear from the next room

I got a Weekender, they look nice and all and I like it, but holy shit is it noisy

Dude it's like 80$ on ebay

This.
Timexes are loud as fuck.

For what watch exactly? For 30 bucks I could get a timex or a generic casio, either analog or digital or both while ai could get a seiko 5 sports or a G-shock for less than 100, and I'd rather bring any of them watches innawoods than my $2000 omega

I've got a $30 timex weekender and I work in a restaurant where we bus+serve and sometimes do dishes because the owner is cheap.

Three months in and it has survived 7+ thorough hand washings, 5 days a week for 3 months.

comforting

you went to ROSS? i knew u looked good today

never had a timex. Have both g-shock and seiko and they're both decent.

Best 12 bucks I ever spent

I really want the MDV106 but it's way too big for me

Does the W59 get any affe/k/tion?

I like my Timex expedition. had a few problems since I wore it on my right wrist the bar broke on one of the straps because I was punching with that hand. no that I'm wearing it like a normal person its all good.

Don't buy super budget tier quartz movement watches, they're garbage.

>mfw OP doesn’t know that a shit-ton of Timexes are made in China, India, and the Philippines.

Attached: C1A25043-7A91-443E-A027-E6C2378A34B6.jpg (413x395, 61K)

>half a second a day
>off my minutes in a few months
>60 seconds in a minute
>120 "half seconds" in a minute
>few months
>off by a minute
are you seriously that retarded?

My first watch was a timex expedition that I wore on a belt loop for damn near 10 years; I would rate it as a good, reliable watch.

G-shocks all the way, baby.
>time to make /poltards/ cry

GOAT

Just got my Khaki King. Has a longer power reserve than the earlier models. Slightly lower hz rate so the second hand isn't as smooth, but accuracy and durability are all there.

Attached: Hamilton-Khaki-King.jpg (1024x909, 144K)

Shit tier Walmart watches

Fuckin slick

Imagine believing this
A watch that isn't shit tier quality. >Fonts don't even match
>Being impressed by having the ability to wash your hands while wearing your watch

Not all of them

>Anything other than field watches being even remotely Jow Forums

My penis is now erect.

Oh wow, I didn't realize the Casio MDV106 was held in high regard. I just bought one on a whim four or five years ago because it was cheap and I thought it looked cool.

Attached: dangerous nomad.png (974x2188, 2.52M)

They updated the rotor design too

Attached: Hamilton back.jpg (1500x1300, 956K)

That watch is way too big for your wrist. The xboxhuge watch fad is dying thankfully, because they look fucking stupid. Anything over 42-44mm looks dumb on most people outside of the few individuals with giant wrists. Pic related is about as big as a watch should ever be.

Attached: 42386B83-4ED7-4416-B364-1FCE42D25975.jpg (750x1334, 83K)

Eh it's not that big. I don't even own a watch >42mm because yes, I do have small wrists

Attached: IMG_20180415_194855.jpg (2000x1500, 1.25M)

I have one of the black versions of this. I was so happy to find it, getting a simple looking watch without any faggots fonts was a lot harder than it should have been.

what is quality? my watch looks great and is way too tough, even for the exciting stuff. I reject the concept of complications.

You just spent money so you could judge us, but guess what: my watch is better than yours because it's just as good and easier to replace.

Cheapest good watch I can get with a nato strap?

Was going to get Casio f91 w and replace band but that will be 25 or 30 in total, is there a better option?

Ironically the only watch I’ve ever had break was a Timex expedition.

Attached: 40DEA76C-D073-43B2-AB4E-F0FB5F85FE31.jpg (3850x2420, 2.24M)

Just double checking your math.
Using 30 day/month average and a half second being lost every day,
120/30=4.
4 months to lose 120 half-seconds > 4 months to lose 60 seconds >4 months to lose one minute.

Original reply said 1 minute lost per every few, aka 3, months.
Your math says 1 minute lost every 4 months.

Why are you so upset?

Eco drive you say?

Best 65 dollars Ive spent in a long time.

Attached: 20180416_031521.jpg (4032x3024, 3.05M)

>$65
Where? How?

Attached: spoderman.png (296x460, 180K)

What do you guys think of the Casio Gshock. GD120MB-1ER? I could get it for 50 bucks which is considerably cheaper than other gshocks here.

Attached: 71hv3C7J05L._UY700_.jpg (525x700, 76K)

nice wrist fatboy.

Maratac FTW

not him, but 1 minute of the course of 4 months is nothing, especially when you take into account you will be changing the time anyways at a little more than 4 months for daylight savings.

I like mine but it gets shut in a dresser drawer every night because it's so loud.

CWC G10 (British Forces)

Attached: CWC_G10_4.jpg (640x425, 46K)

Gonna buy a G shock soon, but I think the solar/atomic one is the one to get. Looks good too and isn't retardedly huge

Attached: Casio GM100B-1ACR.png (545x649, 301K)

Negative display looks very cool in add photos, but it is surprisingly difficult to read fast in many lighting conditions. I had read about the matter, but did not take it seriously before visiting to local jeweller's who sells g-shocks. I ended up buying pic related from Ebay.

Attached: GD_100.jpg (363x363, 29K)

for me, it's still the submariner.

tool watch to the highest regard.

Attached: mysub.jpg (640x640, 71K)

Did you purposely buy the most shitty watches?

how's it hold up during those deep dives for krill?

holds up pretty good for an 18 year old watch.

Really hope no one falls for this one. 6/10 for nostalgia.

I fell for it

Vostok master race.

A solar would be cool though I don't really see that much of a benefito it to be honest. And the price for those is also something to consider.
Thanks for the tip this was my greatest point of doubt. Some ppl said it makes it easier to read because you don't get as much glare in bright sunlight others like you said it's more difficult to read than pic related display.

>hamfisted
oh boy this gave me so much kek back then

Seiko fauxmariner reporting in.
