Shockwave takes a bit of getting used to. The main points of contention is you lose a point of contact with a long gun. I'm a bit of a recoil pussy so I use the Aguila minishells. As long as you don't mount the gun up near your face you're fine.
The best way I find to run it is with a whippet sling. I think it was first made known through the gangster Clyde Barrow back in the 1920s. Its a short single point sling that hs the weapon resting just under your armpit. Its great for concealing under a coat, but when you push your shooting hand out so the sling is taut it really stabilizes the weapon so that you can properly use the bead sight.
