One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovitch, by Solzhenitsyn. It's why you should defend your weapons just as viciously as you'd defend yourself and your children.
These books paints the most complete picture of the trials and tribulations of the 1st Marine Division during the Pacific War
>Helmet for my Pillow by Robert Leckie
>Island of the Damned by R.V Burgin
>With the Old Breed by Eugene Sledge
>Voices of the Pacific by Adam Makos

I hate that book and that movie because Catch-22 is NOT A REAL THING
Yet every civilian the world over says "It's a catch 22, you know, like in the military!"
take a chill pill user.
Unintended Consequences.
McVeigh didn't read Hunter until after the bombing.
Pretty long but worth sticking with
While in the military, you've never been in a situation where someone didn't give you orders and expected you to obey (and therefore not be punished) so that they didn't have to give you orders to do the opposite thing (and punish you for following their orders because they didn't want to give you the orders)?
Because that's the kind of Catch-22 that civilians expect out of the military.
Has good nuggets about nukes, nuke operations and nuke mishaps.
anything tom clancy
Catch-22 is a cheap imitation of CĂ©line
Surprised the Draka aren't mentioned more given Jow Forums's rhodie boner
Loved this book
(((Lebowitz)))
Definitely worth a read. Grants much deeper context than the film and looks at US intelligence and command & control failures, overreliance upon then new technologies, communications, logistics, and diplomacy failures, hubris of our own commanders, etc. I'm not saying it to be overly critical of our armed forces, but that it's a great look into lessons learned and a great window into combined forces you don't get to see often. I'd say it's a good companion to literature on Operation Eagle Claw/Desert One.
I read a bunch over the winter.
HMS Ulysses by Alistiar MacLean
The Day of the Jackal by Frederick Forsyth
Strike Force 7 by Ian MacAlister
Also read some good nonfiction, too.
The Great Escape by Paul Brickhill
God is my Copilot by Robert L Scott
great read
All quiet on the Western front
