Theres no way of knowing, but it seems most plausible. There were plenty of opportunities they could have plugged a cop or two, but chose not to either because they were only interested in a getaway, or the pills they were on had fucked their judgement enough that they just didn't think of it.

They had actually killed a security guard on their last robbery, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that they were attempting to kill law enforcement; nevermind the fact that they had an opportunity to escape when they left the bank but decided not to take it.

It's expected to happen, as sad as it is. How many times do you see trains being hijacked for example? I think one of the few things that relatively speaking won't change are ship raiding, but now that ships tend to have PMC's in hostile waters it requires a bit more nuance.

Helon gas fire suppression system under the truck chokes the engine. Then cement saw the doors open or force the occupants out with AP rounds. Those windshields are bullet resistance not bullet proof

I saw an episode on "Almost got away with it" about an old dude who robbed banks. He just scouted them out and found small ones with only girls. He'd show up when it was not busy at all and ask to see the manager inquiring about business loans or something. He'd whip out a revolver and force them all into the bathroom or closet and lock the door. Only reason he got caught was he forgot to lock it one time and the chicks got out and called the cops and he hadn't even left the parking lot. Seems like if you planned your shit and weren't retarded slow you could pull it off and get the money in the till. You'd have to take their phones and you probably would need to wear face covering straight in the door but it'd still be possible.
