>put the bridge of said ship at the very front in highly exposed position
Why is the UNSC so dumb?

Because ship designs in space fantasies tend to fucking suck and Halo is no exception.
Its literally hundred years old institutional inertia according to the lore
ships were designed based off tradition not 100% out of practicality
also your 3800 ft long warship is actually a 3800 ft long gun with a steering wheel and crew quarters attached
Post more fictional space warships
Try parallel parking your spaceship without windows. It's not fun.
Nice and practical. Good to go against anyone short of Vorlons or Minbari.
Do cameras not work in space?
Your excuse for not playing greatest spacegame ever?
Wish there were some higher quality scans of these
Not a warship, but you get a pass for referencing the best Alien movie.
Except the Covenant build their ships right because they've been doing it for longer.
That doesn't look like Freespace 2.
waiting for the next update with all the faction building features
any day now...
sauce now, please
You know, disregarding the fact that they look like various flavors of “things that you stick in your ass”
The ones with completely unguarded openings to their central reactors? Yeah, dude, totally well-designed.
>Huh, this looks neat.
>OP is faggot doesn't post source
>reverse image search just sez 'darkness lol'
>Ah, name in the upper corner.
>'starsector'?

>early access
Eeeeh...
>EARLY ACCESS
Space warship design:
>Make sure crew have genetic modifications for living a microgravity life
>Have laser cannon and railguns mounted on retractable turrets on outside of ship
>A cannon/gun on either side to give maximum coverage
>Drones and missiles in ports to be released as needed
>Drones could be like the minigun missiles used like pic related
That's not Reassembly...
>early access
It might as well not be, the dev has gone at it for 10 to 8 years. Game has tons of features worth of a full release but its his passion
>EARLY ACCESS
He always delivers with major updates, it just takes forever because I think it's only him plus an art guy.
I bought the game like 6 years ago and I don't regret it. He's not patreon begging, or kikestarting, or using steam.
Got one of these for the frigates?
Still the best star fighter design
thats not eve
B5 really was cool
Up until it wasn't.
Like how the Minbari War got started. Totally retarded
>SRBs
why?
Built in a year with 1990 tech and launched from a mothership already in orbit.
Suicide mission to boot.
Thought it was 1960s tech
Rejoined eve as now Free to play. Cant even use all my skills on main or even faaaar weaker alt. Fuck eve.
Well the Minbari are pretty retarded. They reee like crazy at Sheridan for destroying one of their warships during the war of totally genocide against humanity.
The book was published in 1985 and set a few years after Galileo arrived at Jupiter (which was 1989)
That's because you have to actually pay to play the game properly. F2p isn't supposed to replace the subscription model, it's supposed to replace the free trial.
Deviant Art has some really good shit
Space apes sharting their way through the void:
I hated absolutely everything about the Minbari. I hated how JMS kept jerking them off and saying how amazing they were. Felt really fanfictiony.
The Minbari are one of the main reason I think B5 is a second tier show despite many people giving it 10/10
>not disguising the ship as a common freighter
> MC drove a warthog through this in a straight line for 15 minutes
Replicator fucking shits.
The Daedalus looked so fucking cool.
Top 10 spaceship design
Anyone have any BSG webms?
All I have are these 10 year old gifs
This thread gave me Halo nostalgia and makes me want to read the books again. Is this worth reading? Last Halo book I read was Contact Harvest. I dont care for the new books.
From what I heard from my buddy who was a huge OG Halo fan, it's up there, definitely good for the lore and background at least, but he said probably one of the last of the actually decent novels before things started going south.
Never read it myself though.
15mph speed limits, my dude.
But the front would arguably be the most safe place for the bridge. Nobody is going to launch an offensive when they're being stared down by a MAC cannon.
BR is my halo raifu
Just evade Karen Traviss and you will be fine
this she really is hard to read. By the way she writes I dont think she has ever read any of the other books nor played any of the games.
Shit I forgot I need to pick this up again; only finished season 1
>tfw Republic Commando was my favorite SW novel series
do NOT bully her
>not homeworld
Im honestly disappointed in y'all.
add to that, the Forerunner saga novels are also a bit of a bastard. Id only read them if you really get back into the books.
whats it about?
Post Spheroids,
ignore furries
>Travis Republic Commandos series
You mean the one where she gave the clones a song and dance. Also had one of the commandos fall in love with a special Jedi?
Nah mate, hate to break it to you. They’re trash.
what movie is this from?
how long til we see vatniks/chinks use this clip as proof of "new superweapon USA btfo never recover" like the X-51 slides?
It's a warrior thing like the Maori. I thought it was cool that she gave them a culture. Personalized something that basically could've just been more droids in the movies for all anyone really cared.
Maybe it is a little cheesy, and I probably am too, but I was really digging what she was doing with the Mandalorians before the TV shows dicked it all up. In retrospect maybe the love plot was a little dumb but overall I was a fan of what she was trying to do.
HOMOworld, more like.
Babylon 5 Lost Tales
Orientation controls for that kind of setup are actually more complicated than a standard spindle and difficult for people to handle without extensive training in sims. BSG's remake had the right idea, main combat maneuvering is in the nose alongside the guns, you lose that you might as well drop out of the fight anyways
>Freelancer
MAH NIGGA!
the mods make it great, but since I moved to the steam remaster I can't get anything to work anymore
worth checking out?
They're all too young to remember when video games were good.
Also Endless Space
>Three dimensional games
Spotted the kid whose first game was Halo.
>RTS
>"Good"
Pick one
Wut game
The movie is so so but you need to watch the show for it to really make sense. The is is pretty good if you can get pass the old 90s CG.
The Starfury is so rad even NASA wanted to make one. Granted not as a space fighter but more of a space forklift.
I grew up watching B5 and Crusade, so kinda used to it. Haven't seen much of the "made for tv"-movies though
>based Garibaldi
it's rad as fuck for a micrograv mover but not very practical otherwise
I can't get over the graphics for some reason.
Anyone else wanting a Mass Effect-like pc game based on The Expanse series?
Like, a main storyline of fucking up Protogen/Protomolecule and shit, while doing cool sidequests in the Rocinante and letting Amos beat up people on Tycho for information?
