JF-17 Thunder any good?

What does Jow Forums think about this chink/paki plane?
is it, you know, any good?

Al right for their needs.

>Easy on logistics
>Quick turn around times
>100% domestic
>respectable performance

They're essentially using a hi-lo config, couple of high spec F16's, and a shit ton of jf17's.

Its probably a step (or two) up from the Indian MiG21's it would face in combat.

even tejas is still better

So bad not even China wants it

It's a scam, "modern" fighter marketed for third world shitholes that don't know they're being scammed.

So it's the Eastern JAS 39

It has wings, it flies, it drops the bombus.
Nothing special but it is a jet, I guess.

It's a Chinese MiG-21 with side intakes and an AESA
Make of that what you will

IIRC it shot down a few f 14s.

t. singh

It's pretty good for what it is. A simple, cheap fighter jet for other 3rd world cunts. Maybe African cunts will get some.

Pajeet could only afford 1 air-to-air missile.

yes

JF-17:
>Delivered on time
>development program set realistic goals
>goals were acomplished
>plane is in service and produced in decent numbers
>is cheap but reliable

Tejas:
>almost none of initial goals were completed
>30 years of development hell
>unrealistic initial assumptions
>pajeet management style resulting in waste of time and money
>still not mass produced
>insane amounts of money were pumped into it without anything useful to show for it.

>take MiG-21
>move intakes to the sides
>add pointy nose
>pretend it's an F-16
>sell to Pakistan

And a turbofan instead of turbojet. So not a mig22 at all.

>take mig-21 chassis
>move intakes to the side
>fit a more modern turbofan engine that is roughly the same size
>add bigger radar because of course you fucking would
Tell me where the lie is.

No. That's the JL-9 tho.

The JF-17 has an entirely different fuselage.

Nah the JF-17 is how user described. It's a highly updated mig-21

Please stop posting

Whats with Asia's obsession of making Lead-in Fighter Trainers?

Are local powers out to arm their shithole neighbors?

Attached: TA 50.gif (675x583, 59K)

JF-17 is not a trainer, tho. Trainers need to be tandem seat.

The JF-17 is basically the Sino-Pakistani Gripen. A light fighter powered by a medium thrust engine.

It's literally an upgraded J-8.

>take mig-21 chassis
you clearly don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
>move intakes to the side
that as simple as putting a front mounted oil cooler on your piece of shit shitbox?
>fit a more modern turbofan engine that is roughly the same size
you're dumb. You might want to check the RD-33/93 dimensions.
>add bigger radar because of course you fucking would
you realize at this point whatever resemblance to an original fishbed is gone, right?

I understand your education and mental acuity does not allow you to accurate analyse complex engineering projects, but the level of stupidity in your original post should be obvious to even aviation unindoctorinated.

>Tell me where the lie is.
The lie is the one you keep telling yourself: "I know what I'm talking about". You don't.

>It's literally an upgraded J-8.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
retarded k/unts open their mouth and retarded shit invariably comes out.

Look up the peace pearl project. And then the Super 7.

Even if you're not learned in the way of Chinese aviation history, J-8 is a twin engined aircraft. You sound really fucking retarded, I and hope, for your sake, you're just pretending.

it is a hyper mig-21. I love it.

I don't know any Asian countries other than China and South Korea making them, and the T-50 kind of has the local market cornered. But the reason you see all these high-end fighter trainers coming out of developed countries is because it's a great way for a company without a ton of experience in the field to break into making modern combat aircraft while having the potential for export sales before making the jump to actual competitive fighters. You have to walk before you can run, after all.

The T-50 was developed straight into the FA-50, which is ostensibly a "light attack aircraft" but in practice is really a new-built 3rd generation jet fighter, and they plan to go from that to the KF-X, an actual 5th generation aircraft. They're leap-frogging to catch up with the decades of development and experience that the big boys have.

It's the best tech the Chinese are willing to give to the Pakistanis and blows the indigenous Indian jets out of the water. Tranche 3 soon.

Not an amazing aircraft. About par with a 1990's-era F-16. Low price-point is it's main draw.

Apparently a semi-stealth block 3 is in the works...
