Alright Jow Forums, I'm seriously considering buying a mosin. Any good sites or reputable sellers? Any tips or fun things to message with on it?

Tip:
>go back in time, then buy one

Mosins are around 300 bucks now, if you want to get one, you should do it now before they get any higher in price.

Nuggets were like 5-8 years ago what K31s are now.

Don't be retarded, get the K31.

Alright what's some info on K31

Stock up on ammo when it's for sale.

Man. You missed the nugget train. There is no reason to spend $200+ on a nugget. They were passable when you could get one for like $99. Your last chance was the $99 Type 53s a while back, but those are all gone too.

Milsurp prices have risen dramatically in the past few years, to the point where it's not really worth it to buy one if you're just looking for a cheap blaster. Not only that, but surplus ammo has pretty much dried up, which means you won't save money with one because they'll be more far expensive to shoot than a modern gun in a common caliber. Unless you're really in love with the history of them, just skip on them and buy something modern instead.

Not sure if this was super clear but
>OP is new as fuck to guns and needs help

Basically any info or advice you can give for a cheap rifle legal in most states would be appreciated

>marlin 795/used ruger 10/22 for pewpewpew, try to spend $130 to $150
>K31 if you want milsurp, about tree fiddy
>Savage/Tikka for general whatever rifle, depends on the frills for price but you can't really go wrong
>M&P AR-15 they're fine, throw on a holosun
>used 870 Wingmaster or new mossberg 500 for shottygat, 250 to 450 depending on condition/frills

here you go basic solid all-round starter pack

Sure thing, OP - I actually recorded something especially for people in your position on my YouTube channel. Here it is. I hope it helps.

>no handgun

op didn't say he wanted handguns

I guess adding the shotguns was superfluous

It's a scary thought to imagine the day that a mosin costs $400+, and that day is coming. Buy surp while you can, boys.

Prediction: Within ten years it will be hard to find any decent-condition un-Bubba'd milsurp rifle for under $1000.

Thats why I'm in a buying frenzy now. Pic last 6 months.

If you want a nugget get a nugget. From what I've seen locally in my parts online prices don't seem to be too different from gunshow prices for them. The difference is you can personally inspect it at a show. Like inferred if your going to do it buy now.

Get bayos for your krag an M1.

Pic was taken when the Krag bayo was in the mail. The problem is that the US stopped date stamping bayonets in like 1941 or so. I want a US M1 bayonet for the M1 but there has recently been a dump of South Korean and also German made for Greece service bayonets. I want a US M1 bayonet and don't want to be jewed with a knock off.

The carbines are fun fuckaround guns. You like what you like. Make sure rifling isn't pitted and is fairly bright. Cycle the bolt and make sure it isn't uncomfortable to do so. Make sure the crown isn't marred to all shit.

For starters, don't get milsurp if you're trying to be cheap. Get a Savage or an AR.

OP, I wasted my gun budget on overpriced Mosins ($299+) and SKS' ($400+). They're not worth it. Get a non-meme gun; Ruger American's or the Savage Axis/Hog Hunter are some of the best deals today. You can find ARs

Also, I forgot the Tikka T3. I you're looking for a long range sniper raifu in the future, the T3 chambered in .300 WM does a magnificent job 500+ yds.

And for the eternal 9 memeter?

What is a good place to buy a K31 from Jow Forumsomrades? I'd rather not get them from that fuck from Classic.

That's a hard one. Check the linked documents in the /hg/ thread, but the S&W M&P Shield is a decent place to start if you want a basic bitch.

Tough market nowadays in terms of how available they are, surplus for mosins has really started to dry up

91/30 (the long ones) are around 200-300 now depending on condition

M38/M44 (the shorter ones): can vary a lot, I bought one recently for 200 (without bayonet) and another for 400 (almost unissued/unfired condition)

Finnish Mosins (best mosins imo): If you want the "good" mosin with an awesome trigger, slightly longer than an m44 mosin, very accurate. Im guessing a nice condition one nowadays would be like 500-600 maybe more.

That being said, they are still worth it at those prices. Such cool pieces of history and are amazing long lasting shooters if you pick a nice one.

The M44 carbines shoot ridiculous fireballs and are stupid fun, everyone at my range comes and chats with me when I bring it

If it is only sold as bayonet for certain type of rifle then it isn't jewing but if you are bying us M1 bayonet then it should be what you get.
But there is good chance that it isn't because I bought mgs portable ops that had obviously euro cover art and I got us shit.

Be sure what you are buying.

It’s fun to shoot, but you’ll be quickly disappointed in its ability.
For 300$ you should just get a Mauser. They are possibly accurate and you can find them in .308.
I owned 3 different nuggets and only one of them functioned properly

Better off just getting a better rifle with a MOA guarantee, considering the nugget's current market.
