You got something to say about French small arms, punk?

SA white genocide.
No such thing.
Keep Jow Forums in Jow Forums.
If you didn't want us to talk about it, then you shouldn't have posted Ian.
Yep and if I wanted to talk about the non-existent white genocide I would jump over to Jow Forums.
>If you didn't want me to talk about this one thing that Ian said that isn't even that extreme and not really relevant to what he spends the vast majority of his public (and presumably private) life doing then you shouldn't have posted Ian.
its just a tactic by Big Politics to make Ian unpopular on Jow Forums in favor of a more right-leaning gun youtuber.
thankfully im not a spastic so i can enjoy the content someone creates despite any differences in opinions i have with them.
Which control makes the white flag pop out?
Nice try, commie niggerjew
Just because they are underrated does not make them good.
IAN IS A RACIST SHITLORD!

Not an argument.
No (You)s for morons.
They are mostly brilliant designs with some key aspect that screws them up. The best two examples I can think of are the Lebel rifle and the 1892 revolver.
Lebel: the good part is the smokeless powder. The bad part is the cartridge design and the Kropatschek system (tube loading). Lee designed a rifle with box magazine in 1879, and the Mannicher clip design was finalized pre 1885/86. Fix the cartridge design, and use either of those two technologies, and you are good to go.
The 1892 revolver was pretty much the perfect design of its era- swing out cylinder, strong, reliable, easy to maintain. Then they went and put the weakest pipsqueak cartridge they could find in it. It could have easily handled something on the order of .38 special. With a more powerful cartridge it would have been more useful on trench raids and the like. Heck, with a more powerful cartridge it would have been a useful police and export arm right up until the wonder nines replaced all revolvers.
That's the core French problem with small arms- they always get one thing wrong. Contrast that with the British, who manage to make many mistakes but always have one key thing they get right that makes it okay (with the L85 the one key thing was getting HK to fix it). The Lee-Enfield is the best example of this.
But if you were just an owner of a French arm, and not a military user, I think you'd have a lot of fun with them.
Why are people meming Ian?
I'm very new to his videos (and weapons in general), but in the few dozen I've seen he seems to enjoy recounting many facets of gun history and greatly enjoys it. And he's turned it into a living.
alt-right/pol/whatever we call it now dude gets mad at Ian's answer then starts anti-shilling ian on Jow Forums. like-minded people agree with the guy, everyone else gets mad, more people start pretending to hate Ian simply because it makes people mad.
I don't really care what Ian's political views are because I watch his channel for the information and entertainment it provides.
Some Jow Forumstards are sperging out lately because Ian got sick of them spamming his comment section with shit about Rhodesia and South Africa.
Now they're posting fake screenshots or claiming (with zero evidence) that Ian wants to eliminate gun rights for regular plebs.
Because neckbeards with fragile egos can't reconcile the idea that there are people who may not think exactly like them, so they have to shitpost and smear people constantly.
Well that's not very polite now is it.

You mean like the Berthier? The real problem with the Lebel is that they made more than 3 million by the early 1890s and in having made so many so fast they didn't want to switch to a newer and better weapon design having sunk all that money into making the Lebel so quickly.

The cartridge isn't so bad compared to most other military calibers at the time. I also wouldn't be surprised if the actual military loading was a lot hotter than any commercial loading found today. Commercial loadings for 7.62 Nagant are only 500fps, while the actual Soviet Surplus is 1,200fps. I hate lawyer loads.
This. Snowflakes gonna snowflake. Trolls gonna troll.
Wow that's just obsurd. But this is the internet where obsurdity is almost law.
And this is unrelated, but I was introduced to his vids when this webm was posted on /v/
>and greatly enjoys it
I meant to say is professional about it.
fuck off anti-white shill. go back to sucking off that antifa scum's balls.
>Lee designed a rifle with box magazine in 1879, and the Mannicher clip design was finalized pre 1885/86. Fix the cartridge design, and use either of those two technologies, and you are good to go.
While you're not wrong, doing so could have cost France the initiative when they discovered smokeless powder. The Lebel was adopted within 5 months.
Also, the disadvantages that you mentions are ones we know of in hindsight. At the time, there was no reason to switch away from tube loaders. They were the premier magazine system. And the cartridge design is fine for manual arms. It's for automatics like machine guns that it becomes a big pain in the ass. But in 1886 nobody knows that machine guns are gonna be as important as they will be.
The Lebel was fine for 1886 and the thinking at the time. The biggest problem was that the French STAYED with it for as long as they did. Most of the other major powers ditched their first smokeless powder rifles after a few years (think the Gew 88, the Long Lee, the Krag, the Type 30, Etc). The French had a fine rifle design in the Berthier in 1890 and ignored it. They even had a great universal short rifle in the form of the 1902 and ignored that!
That's the biggest flaw of the Lebel, not the design itself.
Just a quick reminder that Jow Forums and Jow Forums are different threads. Doesn't mean we can't talk about gun laws every once in a while. But topics like South African's current political climate is not something that should be on Jow Forums.
The French tend to be early adopter of fancy tech only to fuck it up later, usually through political fuckery of a good idea.
It seems they learned too much from our system.
Le FAMAS est mort, vive le FAMAS !
Unless it's in a thread involving a hypothetical scenarios within a South African civil war. Or at least I find it accept in that context.
This. I have no respect for this queer anymore
>be borderline delusional
>people don't like what I like
>therefore it's the largest shill campaign ever
.45 Winchester Magnum is an underrated cartridge.
Is this real?
How did the Germans change their rifles so often? Didn't they have the same GDP as France?
>minitel
Awesome stuff. Straight form fallout 3 or 90s era cyberpunk.
yes can confirm
You'd have to be gay not to believe everything you see on the internet.
consider yourself """"""red pilled"""""""
Welcome to IncringeTV I’m Ian and in this episode Karl and I frankly couldn’t get enough bull semen so we brought with us Jamal Basketballicus from our partners at blacked.com to talk about how the boer genocide is fake and pet us worship his ebony pole with out mouths. Don’t forget to donate to my paypig so I can keep supporting Antifa and the Brady Campaign
>seen by many including myself who actually argued with him
>fake
>what is a response to save face to his mostly boomer retard audience
>is that jamal over there !!!!
French economy and administration was.... weird. They also had a lot of colonial holdings to pay for, whereas Germany did not.
>soi-face
ew
Being french this is so true it hurts.
And this is also spot on.
Don't get me started on the Famas...
The MAS-36 is actually a brilliant rifle. I'd love a modern rendition in .308 or 7.62x39.
Was looking into it and Germans had a bigger GDP and the French colonies weren't really costly as the British Raj for example. The French colonies in Africa basically covered the Sahara and other ones like Laos had more problems with insurgents. Germany's colonial policy from 1907 was also vastly different than the French one, Germans wanted to make something like a holiday resort.
is he vegan as well?
I love the MAS-36, it's so simple.
It's probably cheap to produce too, dunno why people aren't copying the design.
I've seen this photo posted a dozen times, what is it supposed to show? Ian making a stupid face or the fact that they took a photo with a douchey looking white boy?
I want a browning-type automatic magnum handgun made now.
I can't tell if Karl is genuinely unhappy with his fan base or if he just embraced the meme that he's an angry and unhappy person
There exist some .308 converted ones.
Because classic direct impingement gives you a gas bukkake over a shooting trip.
Give me all your french long cases boi
n-n-no Commisar Ian
d-down with the white devil
viva la revolution
This is retarded. Please inform us, who is the far right-wing youtube channel spending 20 hours a day on Jow Forums shit talking Ian?
This but unironically
why is karl wearing a ukonkirves necklace? is he finnish?
>dunno why people aren't copying the design.
Because no one is using a bolt action infantry rifle.
look up the video idiot
Hey look it's the Rugrats X ForgottenWeapons crossover
Karl is Werhbooinian
I'd put $100 down that none of those responses were from anyone who ever set foot in SA.
