My first plan would be to jerry rig a shaped charge with some hard drive magnets. If I couldn't get that ready in time I'd just pump green tips into the knees and elbows to try and fuck up the hydraulics where it would be difficult to armour them.

The T-800 seems pretty much impervious to small arms fire. The T-800 walked simply walked through a shower of .38 Special, 9x19mm, 5.56x45mm and 12 gauge. The 2029 resistance fighters used H&K G3s with little effect against the T-800, therefore it is safe to assume that battle rifles are also pretty much useless. Therefore, to take out a T-800, I assume one'd need heavier weapons (12.7x99mm, 40x46mm, RPGs, etc.).

I'm going to assume that their armor will be roughly equivalent to the best AR500 plates on the market , so I'd probably go for a semi-auto .300 win mag loaded up with AP ammo.

They use them to blast the slag off of the insides of giant furnaces and kilns. You can find videos on YT pretty easily.

Some good examples to draw from are from the early scenes from Terminator 4. A T600 is tough and mobile as fuck and utterly terrifying.

Conner unloaded half a mag of 9mm into the face of that T600 then shot a long burst of 7.62 NATO from an M60 from up close at the robot's head before killing it.

Here, we see another T600 taking literally 2 shots of 5.56 up close, in the head before dying. To be fair, the robot was already hurting bad. Additionally, an HK is unloaded on by half a squad (like 4 guys) all armed with 5.56 rifles, up close. They all unloaded about half a mag into the head and center mass.

It's somewhat inconsistent. We can't assume the resistance would use hollow points, that would be dumb as fuck. At the very least, ball or FMJ would be used. Ideally, the most effective form of AP possible would be used by all soldiers. Though, that might be difficult to accomplish logistically. Maybe the AR's had AP while the M60 have FMJ.

I would like to add that the T600s and HKs often act really fucking dumb in these movies. That HK in the tunnels absolutely had the drop on the raiders and should have wiped them all out. That one T600 that attacked Conner should have been able to rip his insides out or crush him, rather than just throwing him.

Also, T4 had a weird love for A10s and Hueys, not that I mind. Though none of them lasted long in combat.

The fight against Skynet is typically a guerrilla fight. Ambushes and explosives must be used to ensure some kind of success. Only way late into the war are more conventional tactics able to be used.

Early in the war, humanity must rely on heavy weapons and fire support assets to achieve any sort of success in battle and furthermore must choose their fights.

Only later are they able to steal man portable energy weapons that are much better at killing robots, then they are able to fight more conventionally. Ironically, this means Skynet also has an abundance of energy weapons that are better at killing humans. Also ironically, Skynet is more powerful and larger during the middle years of the war.

The future war is depicted as fucking horrifying.

Based on the first two movies, everything up to 12ga buck and 5.56 fmj does absolutely nothing to the T800, It's somewhat consistent.

Something tells me Skynet ain't exactly building the murderbots out of RHA. I mean it is a fully sapient AI sending likewise AI-controlled, fusion-cell powered murderbots back in time. A few metallurgical advances may have happened while it was at it. Something about the second movie in particular seems to suggest that. But then I guess they switched the target audience to a bunch of wankers who wanted to daydream about being the badass hero killing metal zombies by the truckload, and here we are.

308 or 30-06 solid core ap rounds might have a good chance of punching the armor but it wouldn't be a guarantee. Your best bets unless you can get a Ma Deuce is to hit it with enough fire power to break the hydraulics servos and joints. Try to Immobilize it and then slap a satchel charge on him.

They were capable of hearing, judging by the movies. I do not think that they were established as being particularly good at it.

They can at least record and generate high quality voice imitation for people they hear and being computers and all, would expect them being capable of estimating the distance from analyzing sounds alone, also things like speed and direction by doppler analysis

T1000? There's no evidence you could. They didn't try magnetic or information based attacks, ionising radiation, or caustics though. No idea if/how those would work either, but it's all you're left with aside from accidentally driving into a steelworks.

If forcible shattering via freezing doesn't slow it down that much, and a 40mm detonating INSIDE it was only a staggering blow, I think you'd have to go way outside the usual definition of "civilian" munitions before explosives worked. Direct tank hit, minimum.

best thing would be a combination of a cheap 50 cal like a serbu or one those bolt action .50 bmg ar uppers, tannerite after all kyle reese was able to blow it in half with just a pipe bomb now imagine a trap involving 20-30 pounds of tannerite. and for simply plinking at it m855 wouldnt do anything, what you would need steel core or real ap full power rifle cartridges like 30-06 or 54r since ap is still legal with those.
