ahhhhh the ras-47 a ak made for the sub 80 i.q market . with legions of trash fanboys who will defend it indefinably, for people that don't know the ras-47 is a airsoft grade ak that century markets as a actual firearm.
iv'e also heard that century actually had to pay youtube whores to like it because normal people have had them fail headspace and sheer locking lugs time after time
Yeah man, we all know. You're preaching to the choir, I don't think I've ever seen anyone on Jow Forums defend this. Most of the time it's idiots calling WASR's and NPAP's shit because of the rep Century got because shit like this.
Kayden Miller
agree, the only problem with the n-pap is it's spring that tuned for underloaded ammo, replace that and it's great
Parker Diaz
The spring is weaker, and they left a dickload of metal chips inside where they expanded the magwell. Stocks a stiff bitch but oil and working it a few hundred times get it Gucci.
nice saiga >rule of thumb >made inhouse by century=avoid >a contracted build by century (gp-1975,m70 ,m74,cetme) inspect heavily >imported by century with 922r work done = lightly inspect, but mostly gtg >imported and sold by century=gtg
Tell me about it. Some gun companies are so obsessed with cutting costs to the point where the product turns out horrible.
There's a reason why guns for the military are supposed to be adopted and manufactured under strict guidelines.
Noah Cruz
with aks, if it dosen't come from a military factory you don't want it examples >izhmash >tula >romarm/cugir >arsenal bulgaria >wbp poland >radom poland >FEG Hungary >sako finland >maadi egypt >zastava serbia >Norinco China >polytech China
Thomas Miller
Wait until I put an MRO and a Phantom flash hider on it.
Brody Jackson
good choice in optic and muzzle device, however i i lucked into a saiga my autism would force me into making it into a ak-103 clone
Which spring should I get for my npap, Wolff regular or XP?
Isaiah Rogers
I'm looking for an AK47 that is milled, possibly russian, chinese, yugoslavian or anywhere not made in America, milled, thick barrel and can actually last more than 200 rounds in full retard mode unlike the pencil dick barrel WASR-10
AK47 are the greatest rifles ever implemented on the face of this earth thanks to Mikhail Kalashnikov. Avoid any AK47 made in the United States for they do not work at all without hiccups and problems. Fuck the Japanese and pray to god that they are gunned down by the people's rifle the AK47!
Jaxson Phillips
Yugo M72B1
Anthony Turner
mad your ar platform is being heavily critiqued by the u.s military for not having a long service life ?
Adam Morales
buy a milled mak 90
Zachary Flores
"greatest rifle implementedon the face of this earth(>in1947 maybe)
Brody Young
Which spring should I get for my npap, Wolff regular or XP??
Easton Sanders
Copper Custom!
Benjamin Turner
i bet you think the ar-15 made in 1957 is super modern
Adam Fisher
Why is it so fucking difficult to make a decent copy of a gun synonymous with braindead African child soldiers, Jihadists, and exceptionally drunk slavs? I just don't understand.
Because greed. It not making a direct copy of the AK that's a problem, its finding a manufacturer that doesn't cut corners on material quality. Everyone wants that jew gold.
Ryan Long
> >in1947 SO the current year then? Hopefully it's bait and you aren't just a retard who cant use >/< properly.
Jose Jackson
Makes sense I suppose. Still, the AK is world-renowned for being cheap, durable, and useable by a fucking lobotomy patient, it's not the luxury item these fucks sell it as. Christ, give it a few years and it might be cheaper to get a goddamn AUG than functional AK.
Ian Richardson
You can thank Clinton and Obama for the importation ban on russian arms.
Kayden Hall
And the NRA on behalf of great American manufacturers like Lock and Wesson, Rustington, Remlin, Salvage, and Losechester
Josiah Anderson
wolff xp worked well in my M92 pap with the shortened gas system. Lowered recoil too.
Colton Morris
Alright guys here is the big question.
Would you prefer capitalist gun manufacturers and gun companies or communist gun manufacturers and gun companies. The two don't interfere eith politics regarding the ownership of guns but they do effect on quality and design of guns so which side is better?
Jeremiah Jackson
Good shit. I want a traditional-looking AK eventually, but I'm thinking of doing that with a Vepr. Preferably in 5.45, but if I can find it in 7.62, or even 5.56, I'll take it.
But I'm aching to finish the Saiga first, and then make a 20-inch AR. I'm aching for a musket at the moment.
Cameron Rivera
Communist with unrushed production quotas. Government pays for good machinery. Government pays for good steel. Weapon is produced well and held to standard by regular inspections. Examples: >Cugir >Tula >Izmash >Arsenal >Norinco >Zastava >Maadi factory >Etc...
Capitalist system results in cutting corners for maximum profit, and 90% of actual progresses in gun technology have come from government funding during wartime anyway, so it's not like there's any drive to compete normally in this market. Examples, >Rustington >Century
Elijah Russell
generally that depends. the reason why most AK's from foreign ex-comm or commbloc countries are so good and well made is because the AK's are made for their own soldiers, and for that reason quality materials and effort is put into the rifles. when capitalist manufacturers make guns for civilians who have lower standards for guns as range toys rather than battle weapons that need to be able to take thousands upon thousands of rounds without failure they can get away more with taking shortcuts and cost cutting measures.
you see the same with Norinco SKS's for example. back when Norinco made SKS's for the Chinese Military, they were super quality and were made of really nice wood and steel, and were uber reliable. when they started making commercial SKS's as exports materials that weren't for military use, their quality of materials dropped, they started using snake shit wood and crappier metal with shitty finish, because they were selling cheapo rifles to civilians who usually didn't quite need a military-quality weapon for going out to the range and shooting soda bottles.
Jonathan Martin
A converted Vepr in your caliber of choice.
Jaxon Rivera
Nobody with real competence is interested in it.
Jaxon Carter
Thank you. I'll take note of that.
Easton Collins
Ive never heard anybody complain about the wasr barrel. Whats wrong with it user?
Daniel Jackson
Yugo RPK (M72B1)
He's probably referring to "muh MELTDOWN" meme.
Alexander Richardson
Agreed, IO is where it's at for cheap American AKs
Isaiah Sanders
The actual reason is that the method of production for AKs has horrendous startup costs and time and no-one working under the free market is going to put in for that kind of risk for a market subset. Ex-ComBloc AKs had their startup costs paid for by the government so at this point everything above production costs is pure profit. There is also the fact that those ex-ComBloc companies have had decades to work out the kinks in their design since all that mattered was meeting government requirements. The AK-47 was adopted in '49 but didn't actually see it's final configuration until 1959. For anyone not willing to dump millions into tooling then they have to start from scratch with forged and milled parts and all the problems that come with new production lines. Then there is the actual customer base, which is small and, if Jow Forums is any example, a bunch of cheap autists who demand an entry level AK cost less than a bottom-tier budget AR and who actively shit on the AK aftermarket.
tl;dr, Most American AKs are shit, because the American AK market is demanding American producers to price and quality match, frequently government subsidized, European manufacturers with decades of experience, pre-existing tooling, and ex-Soviet wages.
Nicholas Bell
Don't forget Dolt and Ruser
Jack Taylor
Mad that your pot metal ghetto blaster will never be used by any relevant military?
Jose Powell
Well what's that
Jonathan Baker
Ruger is fine, you faggot.
Robert Howard
t. actual communist
Luke Wright
I think there was also an issue with barrels not being chrome lined, or I might be thinking of a different Yugo gun. Mine's worked fine, I never get corrosive ammo anyway. Apparently the fixed stock Yugos get loose pretty quickly.
While we're on the topic what kind of barrel is best for an ak? /akg/ talks up the chrome lined barrels alot buts whats the actual best fot predormance?
Henry Taylor
It's possible that Century could improve the RAS47. I hope they do. The AK market today is prohibitive to working/middle class buyers due to import laws. We are going to see more and more RAS47 and C39 owners popping up. It's the only AK you can find locally in most places and most gun owners in the US don't actually spend time talking about guns on the internet or researching them.
Joseph Jackson
Looks like a cracked locking lug to me.
Angel Gray
>implying a wasr is any good
Fuck, I forgot its summer already. Why dont you go play outside
Aiden Morales
Wow didn't realize they were missing mag well dimples
Thomas Allen
Would it be a good idea to put one in my draco? Didn't seem like recoil was bad but if it's gonna improve the life of the gun. Do they make one for the AES10B?
Elijah Hughes
kys
Julian Smith
No. You Draco is fine as is.
Asher Diaz
:(
Mason Sullivan
>communist definitely they actually would have to adhere to a standard instead of making pretty looking potmetal mim garbage , in my opinion capitalism works well in all areas except the banking industry and the military industry. Nationalize those two things and fix 50% of america's issues
Julian Davis
no problem user, i would recommend for starters a simple wasr
Ayden Campbell
didn't irv8888 say that class 3 wasr already shot out a factory barrel at around 35,000 rounds (normal) so it had a u.s barrel on it for the meltdown meme
Levi Bailey
>half the functional uncucked world >not relevant
idk senpai, much more relevant than a bunch of woman, gays and minority job seekers, who get btfo by Afghani goat fuckers and Vietnamese rice peasants, and even the best last white men of the American military (special forces) prefer the ak for most operations
Ryan Young
>mil spec akm >not good
Owen Long
>RAS-47 No such country
Ryan Morales
Some do, some don't. This one was built in 04, maybe that has something to do with it.
>Waaah Magpul polymer sucks >Uses polymer everything on pic.
Ok bud.
Jace Torres
I choose the commies. They are better at killing people so their firearms have great quality.
Henry Russell
that and if there was a defective batch of weapons, whoever was responsible got shot over it, in the u.s system they would be offered a political job
Adrian Morales
He wasn't bitching about it being polymer, you slobbering fucking mongloid He was bitching about it being Magpul.
Michael Wilson
this, magpul apparently didn't give a fuck when they made their ak furniture, it looks like they just recycled the 870 handguard, and their failed magpul masada stock. it looks like shit, feels like shit and performs mediocre
Andrew Ross
I'm a Ras owner but not some kind of fanboy that worships the damn thing. I got it because it was cheap and I was still a poorfag going through my last year of high school. I wasn't expecting it to be anything of high quality but that was fine considering I don't get much time to shoot my funs anyhow, It's not like I was going to dump 240rds every time I take it out. Anyways, I replaced the ugly af wood furniture and bought some steel mags along with fitting a 4xposp scope so now it doesn't look like an airshit gun anymore. I also strip it down for cleaning and maintenance after every trip out and have not encountered any problems with it so far after 1,500 rounds. That being said I still wouldn't recommend it to anyone that can afford something far better on the ak marcket.
Levi Peterson
buy some headspace gauges.
Lincoln Morales
It's fine for what I need it for. At best, I plan to use it for 2-gun for the lulz, and the Zhukov stock dissipates heat way better than the original factory stock it had (which would heat up after 10 rounds,) and the LOP is perfect for me with that stock.
I also like the look. I know, actually setting up the gun the way the owner wants it, instead of it pleasing summer Jow Forums is a novel concept for you.
Lincoln Williams
I'd still take it over my I.O. Inc AK
The rear trunnion kept getting pounded back until it was an entire centimeter behind the receiver, fucker could have blown out and literally killed me
how about stop buying American aks in general, would you buy a Chinese ar-15?
Josiah Lopez
Going from C39 to Saiga was a major bullet dodged. Good job, user. Now you can say you have an AK made in the factory where Kalashnikov worked. It's not just an unlicensed knock-off.
Anthony Cruz
>buying anything from them after Shill Jewger supported the AWB so he could sell more of his gay Mini-14s Remember that the number-one rule in the gun community is that there's no forgiveness for violating the 2nd Amendment.
the only unlicensed Kalashnikov i can think of would be Chinese and Yugoslav, everyone else even Finland had license to produce and export
Jacob Allen
No Yugos have chrome-lined barrels.
Lincoln Jenkins
Cold-hammer forged chrome lined barrels are best, because those are what actual military factories use.
Levi Thompson
Mil-spec is not an indicator of quality. WASRs used to be considered shit-tier when Saigas were still readily available. I think the quality of later WASRs has improved, because it was mostly Century's fault for their bad reputation thanks to their shitty 922(r) conversions.
Jaxon Thompson
Any American AK is a knockoff lol I thought the Chinese actually did receive tooling from the USSR back in the day.
Lincoln Thompson
WHO HERE'S TALKING SHIT ABOUT THE RAS! I RAN 50,000 ROUNDS THROUGH MINE WHILE I WAS TEACHING MY BLACK GRANDKIDS HOW TO SHOOT! YOU DIPSHITS ARE JUST OVERLUBRICATING IT!
i was talking about foreign variants only, to me u.s abominations aren't even aks, china got tooling for the milled type 3 rifle, their stamped guns are complete reversed engineered akms
Cameron Turner
Because contrary to popular belief, AK's are fucking stupidly hard and time consuming to manufacture compared to something like an AR, especially when it comes to assembly and there's no US based OEM parts like how 90% of forged AR lowers come from the same 2-3 companies (or so I've been told, idk).
Jace Walker
according to people in the industry, budget ar's are starting to suffer from shitty mim small parts as well. but yes, aks require skilled workers, something the u.s has very little of
William Campbell
how long till buck angel stars in a BLACKED.com video to show he isn't racist
Zachary Russell
Just goes to show you that the Chinese are experts at copying things. I wonder if the North Korean AKs are also reverse-engineered.
Nolan Evans
Well sure, there's only so cheap you can go before quality really takes a nose dive. I'm a machinist fag and I tossed around the idea of making some actual good American AK's but the other user is right, it would cost probably 4-5 million USD just to get started to make everything in house and they'd have to retail for minimum as much as an Arsenal. And not the 107R's, either.
Austin Green
i remember when Jow Forums used to make fun of wasr.
Luke Perry
>budget ar's are starting to suffer from shitty mim small parts as well Are they like the SIG P320 parts that are made by Indian streetshitters?
Camden Sanchez
The only way you'd make money is by selling clones of rare stuff that's not on the consumer market, but then that would also involve fabricating furniture and magazines.
Landon Howard
yep, same thing, uncle bought shitty weird psa build from a lgs, hammer and bolt catch said india on them, bolt catch sheered 500 rounds in, uncle said the lgs built it from a stripped receiver and a lower parts kit
Adam Reed
Honestly even that wouldn't. Most people won't buy a clone for $3000.
James Martinez
Because they used to be pretty bad and now they aren't
