Those jobs are everywhere my friend, you'll be just fine. Just travel 20 minutes north to Jacksonville and you can have your pick from 30+ companies, and thats just armed security. For unarmed, there are even more choices. Dont expect more than $10 though for unarmed, around $12-15 for armed. Good luck!

Im near St. Auggie and my rent for a 2 bed 2 bath apartment is 850. In my area though rent is high(compared to St. Aug.) and it's hard to find a place sometimes. Honestly, I dont know enough about St. Aug. area to give you an accurate idea of what to expect.
Carry laws are fine, at least compared to IL where I'm from. Just go to tax collector office and they handle it all for you right then and there and then its a few weeks wait time from what I'm told; Don't have my CCW yet, not enough $. You can carry anything in your car, loaded and all, as long it's '1 step away'. Meaning, it must be in a tupperware box, holster, container of some sort, whatever. So long as you're not open carrying or have it in plain sight, you're good. Im not that knowledgeable on carry laws, but I can assure you it's not as free as MS. Hope I helped a little, only lived here a few years so I'm still learning.

I'd save up all my money to get the armed license and maybe buy a cheap truck to haul it around or build up my credit and find a fixer upper house. If a hurricane blows through I could just move it inland or north.

Skip Miami, it's a crime-riddled shithole with no attractions of any kind.
You should do one of those day tours in the Everglades where they take you out on a boat and poke some gators and shit. There's an operation that runs out of Fort Myers that'll do you an all-inclusive, day-long tour for $159, which is a pretty damn good deal. They even drive you down there and provide lunch (part of which is actual gator). Do that shit, you won't regret it. Ultimate south Florida experience.
