I've grown tired of fudd gun shops and tyone and jamal screaming and hollering at the pawn shops when I'm trying to focus on finding interesting firearms. How do you do it Jow Forums? Every estate sale I've been to lately is old widows selling woven baskets and cheap junk, how did you go about conducting gun buying and where? Oklahoma here, and They never sell any guns or cool gear at all of the ones I'm near.
>post estate sale funz and gneral milsurp you bought.
Estate sale acquisitions and frequently asked questions
bought a disassembled, broken iver .32 for $10. that's the only gun i've even found at an estate sale. family members come and take all the guns, at least here in florida.
Professional esate sailer here.
>not really, but I go garage sale hunting and estate sale hunting literally every single weekend in summer.
Ive only seen guns for sale ONCE. It was a very old surplus rifle and they wanted fuckloads of it.
If you want special access to things behind the scenes, ask the family if they have any old firearms, or broken jewelry that they are willing to let you have a look at.
But other than that, guns are so fucked up rare at eastate sales, you have better luck chasing down aliens in corn fields.
Denver, 22 years of hard estate saleing.
In most estate sales near me in Austin most people are doing a estate sale to ether downsize and move, passed away and family takes stuff they want( almost always guns) or people didn’t have any guns to begin with as this has become quite the liberal area. Estate sales a little farther on to the country have yealded some better results. However guns and ammo are almost always the first things to go any estate sale. I’ve gone to a sale where they where plenty of guns and ammo how ever he couldn’t sell the guns there. They had to go through a FFL. I did get some great ammo deals from him though. Some FN 5.7 boxes for 20 a box. And some miscellaneous ammo. I’ve started to hit up garage sales to see if I get any luck with those but as of yet nothing interesting so far.
Why is not owning guns associated with liberalism and not urbanism?
Here in Canada if someone says to me "I bet you don't even own any guns" I'll say "No, I live in a city."
New Jow Forums mocks people for not being gun owners. Old Jow Forums was all aircraft carriers and World War 2.
>tyone and jamal screaming and hollering at the pawn shops when I'm trying to focus on finding interesting firearms.
kek I had this experience recently for my first trip to a pawn shop. I never went to one before and it's just as you'd described. Very distracting I ended up just leaving.
I’m not mocking them, I’m stating a fact. Part of it is urbanism yes. But that is a given knowing any city. Austin has many people of all ages that have been moving here from predominately left wing states were gun ownership is downright discouraged such as New York and California. As these people get older and start to die off which many have, The various estate sales for their estates are not going to possess any firearms related items at a more disproportionate amount than other areas, especially in Texas. However in many cases it’s often the family takes the firearms and the majority of the valuables.
>gun ownership is downright discouraged such as New York and California
Guns aren't discouraged, they're regulated. Unsafe and illegal behaviour is discouraged. Most potential gun buyers are dissuaded by the implication that guns require personal responsibility.
they absolutely are discouraged, ever been to a school in new york?
PA here in our one local that gets sent out with auctions and estate sales a ton our literally 98% guns and farm equipment
>Guns aren't discouraged
But they are discouraged, look at all the useful idiots calling the NRA a terrorist organization, and saying police should be seizing guns door to door. Its not just some idiot on twitter or tumblr, its teachers filling kids heads with that stuff. It's school admins parading kids around outside the school with signs saying basically the same thing. Its news channels running 24/7 cycles saying how there's be 28 school shootings this year alone etc.
also in denver, where do you find deals on old guns? Only place I know of is green mountain guns
Do you really wanna play the "Look at idiots" game?
>Here in Canada
I once found a live 2.36" bazooka round at an estate sale
snatched that shit up
Nice non sequitur
Nigger are you fuckin kidding me.
Holy flying dogshit
ARE YOU MY FUCKING NEIGHBOR?
Green mountian guns is by far the best gun shop around here. Ive found so many unique, old, and downright badass firearms in there.
Theres also a place up by colfax called the gun room thats pretty cool. Ive heard 5280 armory is cool. And theres a new shoo that just opened by the name of "olde steel" that supposedly specializes in surplus military arms. I havent checked them out yet, but they sound pretty sweet
green mountain is the shit, I just bought my first shotgun, this old remington model 11, for 150 there. Good to know! I am not a fan of that scotties guns place, they're all cunts there. but yeah I live near parker and 225. for handguns I usually go to triple j armory and occasionally the firing line has a good deal but pawn shops here fucking suck. all are over priced and generally garbage.
fuck
as someone that's new to CO, is this "will only do sale at FFL" stuff real for arms list transactions? do people not just ignore the law? it's ass.
you might get lucky at old steel, either way it's worth a trip because they have hella surplus funs
also denver user here. I need to check out green mountain apparently.
>triple j
triple j a shit fuck those dudes
>olde steel
actually recommend old steel, right by my house and that place is cool as shit. Maybe a bit overpriced sometimes, but its literally just a room crammed with old surplus guns and minimal walking space. Check it out and fingerfuck all of the old guns they have, well worth a trip
I live literally within walking distance of GMG. And the ARK tactical just down the street. I bought my first mosin nagant from gmg for like 150$. Then next week they had a fuckin hex bolt for 200 that I was too poor to buy. Damn.
Last week they had a 4" 29-3 smith I was drooling over. And they currently have an all black scar in there too. I really like them, they got alot of cool shit noboy else seems to want to have for sale.
And yea dude the pawns are dildos. Like 5 years ago when all these "cash in a flashes" started popping up, they were SOMEWHAT decent, but its mostly garbage now. Occasionally you can find some cool pistols that are worth buying, but their rifles and shotguns, fuck no. Theres an OD green zombie skull ar that one by my house has had for like three years now because nobody wants to pay 3k for the stupid thing.
Yea dude. Alot of people want that shit for some reason. Even out of state arms list fags want that.
>I KNOW WHAT I HAVE
>MUST have an ohio id!
>must have a CCP!
>you must give me your birth certificate, medical record of last three generations of family, and proof of college deploma!
Seriously man fuck these people.
Not the guy you quoted but
Have you actually been there??
Are the prices reasonable?
DO THEY HAVE FUCKING WASR 10s?!
As I asked before, DO THEY HAVE WASR 10s??
ever since the law passed people are chronotriggered by getting ATF'd.
meh, the people at triple j are alright. I mean I got my m&p shield for 200 bucks there and it was barely used. excited to see what their new location will be like.
kek. is it the pawn shop on federal and hampden? the EZ pawn?
I've been there a few times, bought one gun and fingerfucked a lot
>reasonable prices?
depends on the gun if I'm being honest, most seem fairly reasonable but I'm a little new to the 'surp game
>WASR 10?
not sure, google old steel guns and check their inventory out. They tend to lag a little behind with updating their site but you'll get a general idea of what they have
fuck triple J, they fleeced me hard on my first gun. Used AR, seemed like a good deal to a new uninformed buyer. Turns out it was a used anderson with a 20" chinkshit unthreaded bull barrel, out of spec chinkshit keymod rail and a commercial spec buffer tube. Fuck those dudes
how much did you buy it for? but honestly, that's kind of your fault not theirs. It sucks, but it is up to you as the consumer to verify your products.
Heh. It was the cash in a flash on hampden and wads. They got BTFOd by the retard prices the complex managers wanted for rent about a year ago and moved locations. That rifle was in there for years.
Fuk.
I see a wasr on their internet page, but I just was curious if they had more in there. Im honestly surprised I hadnt heard of them earlier, theyve been around almost 2 years now And I just heard about them last month.
If yall havent checked out ARK tactical yet, I would also really reccomend them. Their prices are "reasonable", the shop guys are usually pretty friendly, and they occasionally get some cool things in. They got alot of nice tacticool shit too
Bought some stuff from them years ago and they still remembered my name somehow.
realistically, where's the best place to sell an AR at here? I am getting no bites on armslist and I want to start my next project.
Lmfao. I fuckin hate anderson.
Back when ARK JUST opened, like first couple months and they were dying and desperate for customers, I went in lookin for a wasr. (Maybe im just retarded, but I CAN NOT find a good one anymore.)
>hey man, yall got any WASRS?
Nah but we have this RAS!
>no thanks.
>how about this shortbarreled AK?
Uhh no thanks man.
>you know bro, I got just the thing. Hold on.
I wait there for a couple minites and he goes in the back room and comes back with this fuckin anderson that was beaten to shit, all scratched up, and literally dusting sand on the glass counter top.
>3k rounds down the pipe, anderson, with attachments man. 1,300$
Are you fuckin kidding me? I left right then and there. But theyve really cleaned up their act.
like $750. Yeah it was kinda my fault, but also I was very upfront on being a new buyer and asked for recommendations and they fucked me, so they aren't ever getting my money again.
I'll check ARK out sometime. Like I said, the old steel website tends to lag behind their actual inventory a bit so go in and check it out. It's a cool shop and the guys are nice, so worth a visit even if they don't have a wasr
Accidentally tagged myself and got satans trips, I deserve this.
that sucks bro. really does, but shit happens. I highly recommend the firing line as well, just to check it out. if you want a carbine, hit me up because I don't really need it and want a 20 inch DMR setup to build.
You don't. Generally speaking the only time you'll ever find firearms at an estate sale is when it is being conducted by people who aren't interested in the firearms themselves, don't know their value, and said firearms aren't listed in the will. In general you'll also need to attend estate sales not being run by companies that specialize in estate sales, as they usually won't deal in firearms or will handle them separately - either selling direct to FFLs or to auctions.
Well what do you have, how many rounds have gone through it, and what do you want to get for it?
As a rule of thumb, I never sell guns so I really dont know who would be the best or give you a good return.
Again, I really enjoy green mountian guns because they will do trade ins and stuff like that. They usually throw that stuff they get into their used rack.
One of the new guys said theyre going to start building a subdivision dedicated to ar15 builds, and theyre gearing up to start buting shitloads of parts and start an ar building class.
sell it to me
yeah shit happens, ended up being a good learning experience and I understood guns more because I replaced the shit parts myself. Love that gun now.
fucking nice. they had the best fucking deal on gun powder last time I went in. and mine is this one . I would honestly sell it for 475 to a Jow Forumsommando and 550 to a store. I might check them out desu. Also, that gun store is extremely comfy. First place I really got to finger fuck milsurp and they get the coolest shit. remington rolling blocks, spanish mausers, browning a5s and everything I want.
hmu
Is that a diamondback?
And yea I love their milsurp. Bought my mosin and never had any surp before that. Gave it a big ol scratch on the beautiful fucking laminate because I couldnt get the goddamn rings off and I used a screwdriver like a fucking retard to fulcrum the rings out of place.. I guess I learned.
When I get my reloading equipment im gonna get my stuff from them too. They have loose .224 vmax
nah it is a PSA upgaded lower, and a AR stoner upper. A2 flash hider, MOE furniture, gucci rear sight and mbus front. it shoots great, probably about 1.75k rounds through it. I also have a decent amount of mags (5 or 6 lancers, 5 GI mags, 2 pmags)
>this noguns
You can still talk about aircraft carriers just remember you’re pathetic nogunz trash.
>shareblue posting
Yea I just purchased a gu for the first time in CA and they definitely discourage everything firearms related.
>CA Cop comes in while I’m buying my g19
>Cop asks for “2 pmags (illegal in Commiefornia) for a 416” to let everyone know he is big mr pig with a 416
>Clerk asks to see his drivers license but the cop doesn’t have it on him so he can’t buy the mags.
>cop says he’ll just come back tomorrow to get them with ID.
Everything about the process to buy a gun is to deter you from legally owning in CA.
>Grandpa dies and has a respectable gun collection.
>Option 1
Family leans conservative and there's all kinds of relatives, particularly grandchildren, that want grandpa's guns.
>Option 2
Family leans lefty. Disapproves of their "archaic" grandfathers firearm collection. Turns it into a police buyback. From there on it becomes some cops trunk gun or a recreational piece.
Seriously though, police buybacks don't work. They're almost *never* disposed of as they're supposed to be. Cops simply take them. Or if it's something super valuable, like something 100+ years old or an old war piece, they auction it off and use the profits towards the police force.
I was reading about a woman who turned her father's old STG-44. They gave her 50 bucks and turned around and auctioned it for like 17k.
Don't get me wrong, if I was a cop, I'd keep the guns the force purchased for like 50 bucks per.... and I think it's far better an STG44 is auctioned rather than destroyed. But that program never works like it's supposed to.
