Are they still the worst firearms manufacturer?
Are they still the worst firearms manufacturer?
fuck off retard
Not really, no. They're better than what they were 20 years ago, and the PT series feel really nice to shoot.
>t. A PT111 G2 owner
Not really, Jimenez Arms exists after all.
Unironically better than Remington.
>Brazilian manufacturer better than an American manufacturer
Heresy
Remington lost its way so badly it bankrupted despite basically being a household name.
honestly senpai, i have a pt24/7 full size service pistol i bought from a pawn shop for 250$ that has about 4000 rounds through it now, mostly with shitty tula and some nato surplus ammo, iv'e never had a ftf, for under 4 bills it's not a bad gun
Dude, have you looked at a modern Remington product? Old products like the 870's have a worse fit and finish than the Norinco clones thereof. Meanwhile, new product launches are fucking atrocious from the get-go and they remain terrible even after recalls and revisions. Go look at the reviews of the R51 or the RP9 for shiggles.
They never were the worst. More so memed on.
>Remington actually imports their 1911 frames from brazil so they won't fuck them up
Didn‘t their terrible reputation arise from the fact, that in Brazil their guns are mandatory standard issue for the police, and so they can give them the worst junk possible and get away with it?
the 24/7 firing without the trigger being pulled was a huge blow to their reputation
somehow Sig didn't suffer the same way
their rep on small carry pistols is well earned, however their service size guns and revolvers are decent
yeah their gen ones did that in brazil, however the ones the u.s got didn't have that problem
Never the worst.
Pretty sure Springfield does, too.
I've seen this one before but I believe it's still unsubstantiated as of yet. I'd take it with a grain of salt after the claim the M1A receivers were cast in Brazil turned out to be bullshit.
Looking into it, I'm seeing reports that they were made at least in part by Imbel in Brazil (serial numbers with N, WW and NM), but then they cut ties with them.
Supposedly, they are now made in Illinois, but no word as to who supplies the blanks.
Taurus still has really bad reputation in Brazil. Every once in a while there's news that a huge part of a weapons shipment to law enforcement had to be sent back because it was not safe to shoot. All cops I know refuse to use it, 24/7 especially.
Maybe the ones they sell in america are the good ones, and we get the leftovers (wich is all kinds of fucked up in its own way).
i shot a 9mm taurus 1911 at a rental range and to be honest it felt great
If the magazines for the RP9/RP45 weren't garbage, they would probably be an okay firearm for the price. Just okay, not great.
I've read that the factory mags are all ProMag, so the shit-tier feeding doesn't surprise me.
I don't know much about Taurus guns, but from what I've seen and heard the PT111 G2 of theirs is a definite improvement from the previous model
I also rarely hear complaints over their M85 revolver; I suspect that Taurus can make some solid guns, but that their QC is the main problem
how does proshit even exist? it's like they purposely want to make bad magazines, i think i could mold magazines out of my own shit that function better
any freedom group companies produce garbage
Same here, most of what I know is from TV and friends.
A while ago BOPE and São Paulo police refused to buy guns from them, opting to importing (the law of only buying domestic was ignored, their argument were "they're shit"). That and an israeli (? I don't remember right now) announcing they would build a factory here was probably a big blow for them, so they probably had to step up their game.
I have absolutely no idea how they're still around. MecGar actually makes good stuff, and they're generally cheaper than ProShit.
Still the worst large name gun manuf. i work at a gun store and the only guys we have problems with new are springfield and taurus.
we sell a lot of them to black people
the g2 isnt a bad gun, 82 isnt a bad revolver (for the price) i wouldnt spend more than $300 on a taurus gun tho. Ive seen too many break to be deeply invested in one.
also enjoy shipping your gun back for a repair and it coming back more broken than when you sent it
blacks buy hi point, turkshit, and Saturday night garbage from my experience working at a big box store and a small lgs, if they can pass the background check that is
Brazil seems like a good example of how too much protectionism can be a bad thing
Taurus seems to have a virtual monopoly in Brazil (South Brazil?), and likely had little to no foreign competition; pretty bad combination if you want quality domestic goods
We dont carry that kind of stuff tho. its not worth our time to sell any gun new or used for under $200.
besides that kind of stuff brings in the wrong crowd. its not worth the $140 + tax it brings in. just dealing with the 4473 and LEO's
Remington's only good good is their 1911. Taurus' only good gun is the M9 clone. Taurus' cheap shit costs less than Remington's expensive shit. I'd say that makes Taurus better.
kek
They are better than Sig at this point.
But it's not Rohm.
Travis, go fuck yourself, they still suck ass except for the PT-92 series.
Rohm doesn't even exist anymore. All their assets were purchased by Umarex.
I want to say fuck you, but trips do not lie.
I mean... Look at the fucking P320 fiasco. Or the new P365 whose trigger dies unless held upside-down .
Springfield buys theirs from taiwan or some gook country i believe
MY PT-92 is a badass pistol. Easy to put on target, easy to shoot, very accurate, and pretty god damn reliable, This and maybe 1 or 2 other models would be all i'd trust
I got a PT111 cause whythefucknot for 180, 800rnds through it and not a single malfunction.
every big box store has canik and tristar garbage i thought
Nice ,I've got 3k thru mine, no issues, works great
I’m an HK fag but if I put a P226 or any Taurus on the table and said you’re life depends on it you’d grab that Sig. This poor fag bitterness is chapping my booty.
same here with a pt-24/7 g2
