What is the general consensus on CZ?
Im looking to buy my first handgun. I want a beretta, but ive also liked CZ for a long time. Is there any glaring pro/con to either one?

Biggest issue with the CZ and clones is that the slide is a bit tricky to grasp since it rides inside the frame. This becomes much easier as the springs wear in. I had one for a while and it was a very slick/comfy gun to shoot.
Biggest issue I had is that the trigger return spring randomly broke. Apparently this is a common problem. Mine went through 2 before I put an aftermarket one in. Maybe it was bad luck but I would recommend that as an upgrade if you buy a recent production 75B.

Depends on the Beretta. The 92 is nice if you have big hands save the side mounted abortion they call a safety. Their rotating barrel pistols (storms?) are fine but they sit WAY high in the hand and still have the retard slide safety. APX seems nice but i haven't shot one. I own an SP01 and a P10c and both are excellent. The cz75/sp01 is one of the most comfortable guns you can put in your hand and the all steel brick soaks recoil well. They suck to carry through because they are so heavy. The P10c is an amazing glock 19 sized gun with one of the best and maybe the best striker triggers around. Both would make a good first gun.

You won't make a bad choice, both are affordable, aesthetic, and practical. Depends on what you're going for but I would go either 92FS, or a surplus 92S in good condition for like $230+ and save some more to get a CZ! Best of both worlds.

I had a cz 75 omega with night sights. Great gun.
Sold it to buy a cz75 with polished blue finish, and that one was Total shit.
Failed to feed constantly after about 20 rounds of ammo. The bullet nose would get stuck on the ramp, or halfway in the barrel. The rear sight was driftable by simply pushing it with my thumb.
Sold it and kinda never looked back.
I think the recoil spring was weak, but it was a brand new out of the box gun.
Also both cz’s had shitty looking tooling or casting marks on the insides.

user I'll keep it real with you. I love CZ, but I think Beretta makes some better competing models.
If you're think Beretta 92 vs SP01, hands down the SP01 is my favorite of the two.
If you're in the market for something polymer framed, the PX4 Storm is criminally under rated and its next on my want list. In fact, I'm selling my P07 in order get a Storm, that's how much better it is. The double action is suprisingly smooth, that's what sold me. The P07 is good, but I think the Storm is just that much better.
Can't go wrong with either, but that's just my experience.
