Why would it matter if the soviets were comeing from the other side anyway. Most likely outcome, Soviet Union steamrolls all the way to France and Western Europe aside from the United Kingdom become a much worse place. Soviet Union probably collapses still, but has a chance to steal everything not bolted down in France and Germany. Italy, might get out alright if the Germans give up and let the allies move up north.
Either help Hitler win or don't. D-Day is not the turning point for WW2. You need to convince UK to stay out of the fighting after france falls. Then you need to convince the US not to give the USSR a shit ton of equipment.
Yeah, keeping the US out of it would be crucial. Everyone knows those eurotrash would've been easy pickings without us. The Soviets would still have been something of a problem, though. Why, oh why did Uncle Adolph have to launch BARBAROSSA in the fucking autumn?
Biggest failure was clearly citadel. The delays, plus the deserter giving the soviets a lot of detail really fucked the op up
Forgot to mention that the UK was already largely irrelevant without American aid, and could safely be ignored until ripe for the taking.
no because germany was outnumbered by the soviets and outgunned materially by the US
A colossal clusterfuck, to be sure. Glancing over the Wikipedia entry, though, I see that the Soviets lost nearly three times as many men, which kinda underscores my principal concern regarding the Soviets (or, for that matter, the Chinks) -- killing enough, taking enough ground, it's all on a so much bigger scale...
>What would need to happen for Man in the High Castle to be real life
germany somehow having a navy larger than all the allies combined.

Somewhat off topic, but I just ordered this yesterday, bros. Can't wait to wear it out.
While we're off topic,I just received pic related the other day.
I like your hat too user
There isn't really a whole lot you can do to win when you declare war on the world and pick the most incompetent nations for allies
Absolute best case scenario for Germany provided they knew exactly where the landings were going to take place is:
>Hitler doesn't scatter his armor across Europe like an autist
>concentrated forces ar Normandy aren't destroyed by bombers or naval guns
>able to quickly commit and force landing back into the sea
>a second major military disaster in France makes the British people call for an end to the war
>without the UK involved America focuses all of its attention on Japan
>Germany is able to redeploy virtually all of its forces in western Europe east to slow the Soviets on a narrower front
>the Soviets, now roughly at the 1941 border, decide we've done enough and come to the peace table.
Very unlikely but absolute best case. Germany doesn't win but gets to keep territory and isnt split in 2
Hitler relied upon the common people realizing the potency of National Socialism to engineer a domestic revolution in places like Britain and France to overthrow their centers of global finance capital. He simply kicked off the war too early when the Soviets began attacking Germans in Eastern Poland and from then his fate was sealed. His war strategy relied upon the constant expansion of territory in order to cripple the manufacturing power of other countries. It didn't work with Britain because they relied heavily on their colonies and trade with the US for war materials.
It would have never worked in the USSR as Stalin was so brutal he would have crushed any domestic uprising, and his best bet regarding the US would have been to get them to stay out of the war entirely or intervene on Britain's behalf.
Man in the High Castle could really only come from domestic revolution sponsored by Hitler. You would need to see DeGrelles and Quislings in America, Britain, and France in order for it to be a direct conflict with the USSR that the world would win. Germany was strong, but it wasn't strong enough to keep on offense indefinitely, especially when you consider that the USSR would sacrifice their armies down to the last man in order to secure victory. Look up the fighting strategy of commanders like Zhukov and you'll see why their insanity and unique landscape makes them one of the most formidable enemies the world has ever seen.
>what if Nazis did thing?
everyone asks this like it would make any difference. All that outlasting the Russians or the D-Day invasion means is that Germany and not japan would be the first country to get nuked.
because he found out that Stalin was about to buttfuck his eastern flank in like two months, it was a crash program
to OP: keeping the US and UK out just means that the Red Army don't stop until it gets to Portugal
>Hitler doesn't scatter his armor across Europe like an autist
What? He didn't. One of the main reasons armor support took so long to arrive during D-Day was because Hitler personally held the armor in reserve. Both Rommel and Rundstedt had different opinions on how that armor should be used in case of a beach landing. If, like OP said, Germany knew exactly where the landings would happen that armor would be on point. Obviously this brings in other possibilities but "scattered" across Europe isn't even a logical thing to claim.
Really the only way Germany wins the war is to somehow get the Soviets to invade Poland first, then have the Poles let them in to fight the Soviets. This prevents the Phoney War, and assuming the Soviets start the Winter War helps to push the Brits, French, Poles, and Finns into actively fighting against the Soviet Union at the same time. This combo, in 1939/1940 will defeat the Soviet Union. With the Soviets out of the way it is *more likely* Germany would have a chance against the rest of Europe, but things are by no means guaranteed.
I should add, this scenario requires basically Herculean leaps of faith and assumptions.
the scenario is basically "let's have an alternate history where Stalin is a dipshit and Hitler is a genius instead of the other way around, what would happen?" I mean, duh, the dipshit loses.
I would see Hitler and kill the dinosaurs.
i agree with most things you said but the soviets or rather stalin would never have agreed to a peacetree so in order to stop the fighting on the eastern front we (the germans) would need to esencialy destabalise the soviet union and cause a second civell war like we did during ww1 but this time the whites would need to defeat the reds
IDGAF about him killing the jews but Hitler was an anti-gun, anti-freedom fascist. He was not a cool dude. Our grandfathers and great grandfathers that fought against him for the sake of god and country, to preserve the freedoms you enjoy, were the cool dudes.
Hitler may not have been nearly as bad as Stalin (who by the way the Democratic President of the US loved which was disgusting) but he was not an ideal leader.
People who love Hitler are almost as bad as people who want communism.
The us would have the atomic bomb ready by mid 1945 and would probably use it on Germany if dday failed. Germany's atomic program was nowhere near creating an atomic weapon and was more focused on using it as a power source
They invaded in spring, I'm pretty sure thus is b8 but it wasn't the winter that killed them
I know Germany utilised many east Europeans countries to buff their armies but did they use Ukrainian and Belrusians? I mean they certainly would help because Russians tried killing them all in genocide
UK had Oswald Mosley. Soviets and Germans had political rallies in America but Americans didn't care for those. Russians tried using Lincoin as an icon on their rally in Chicago (I think there) and Germans used Washington in NYC
Stalin had autism, he just took an opportunity presented to him.
It was endgame for germany in 1943. Last three years were just getting pushed back and loosing equipment
The third Reich's fate was sealed on September 1st, 1939
The only way to survive was to become less radicalized, let the soviets become global enemy number 1, maybe spitroast russians after chinese capitulation in the later years, but antisemitism and national socialism would probably have swept the world if hitler played a better political game and used armed aggression a lot less
Nothing. They were outgunned from the day America joined. The only way Germany could have won was if they finished their icbm in time.
Daily reminder that the United States had no business invading Germany.
read Icebreaker
By 1944, it was over. Kursk had already happened and the last real chance for a large German offensive in the East was gone, the Soviets were beginning to counter-attack and further attempts by Germany to regain the initiative were beaten down.
The Allies were already in Italy and moving North. The Battle of the Atlantic had mostly been won and so convoys were making it across in larger numbers.
Germany was getting pressed by two sides and their only reprieve would have been to go North or West, each way pushed them to the sea. All D-Day did was ensure Germany became entirely surrounded quicker and allowed for people within occupied Western European countries to be freed quicker. Without D-Day, the war may have gone on longer, but the result would be the same.
Though one could also say by 1939 it was over because Germany and its allies launched a war if had no chance of succeeding in over a prolonged time, and then kept expanding it to gain more enemies.
Agreed
I'd say tell Hitler everything in 1939. Enigma will be compromised. That's a big one people don't talk about enough. If they knew it was compromised but pretended like it wasn't, they could do a lot with that tactic.
Knowing Enigma was compromised along with keeping America focused on Japan only or out of the war all together is an Axis victory.
>anti-gun
I don't believe this is entirely true though. Gun laws were more relaxed after the Nazi parry came into action. They still hold on to the gun control laws of the 1920s, but otherwise it was relaxed a little bit. You should also remember that unless you actually have some form of a militia, your cache of guns will be worthless in a struggle.
>anti-freedom
I'm not going to go against it since what actually matters is the right type of people in power. But the united states is pretty much a country that shows what happens when you let anybody publish information and teach people the "facts".
>Going back to save an autistic German manlet and his "empire"
>Not returning to September 25, 275 AD and rescuing Emperor Lucius Domitius Aurelianus Augustus, Dominus et Deus, Restitor Orbis from wrongful assassination, ensuring he reigns the newly united Empire for a lifetime, conquers the Barbarians and Sassanids and and establishes the cult of the unconquered sun as the real religion of the civilized world, paving the way for synchretism and enlightment
Cool hat man. Ive got an original from an artillery company in my closet
US involvement included sending supplies and resources to the Soviets. No US involvement = German victory.
Soviets would have btfo germany anyway
They had intel suggesting allied forces would land elsewhere and planned accordingly
>What would need to happen for Man in the High Castle to be real life?
For the whole thing not to be stupid idea with no historical basis
>What would need to happen for Man in the High Castle to be real life?
FDR dies in 1934.
I mean that's literally what happens in the book.
Hitler's solution was a compromise which made both Rommel's and Rundstedt's approaches infeasible, for the record Rommel was right in the end as tactical air power denied maneuvers for the germans
>If you don't see the impossibility of germany conquering the USSR U MUST BE A J000
Tell me mr. master race, the germans barely got to moscow. How were they going to go 1,200km east further when the soviets simply moved to Samara? And then 1,200 more to the east if that fell?
USSR would've collapsed hard as fuck if they took Moscow and killed Stalin. All of those kulak peasants would've lost their main motivator for fighting: not getting killed by their leadership.
I'm so sick of every normalfag I talk to going "DURR SOME MASTER RACE HITLER INVADED RUSSIA IN THE WINTER!"
This is probably my fault for talking to fatistanis about WW2 but goddamn, there was a late spring in 1941 and the roads were muddy in late May/early June from the snow melt.
Their bombing raids was almost as large as yours.
genius argument
they weren't going to kill stalin, he had an underground subway to a train out of german reach to take him to samara.
Anyway even if he died by that point in the war, the USSR would not have collapsed. After the the german invasion the people rallied around the previously unpopular communist regime. Had stalin died it's likely Andrei Zhdanov would have taken over with military support
it did become a stupid decision to invade in the spring without proper winter preparations though. Hitler insisted that the war would be over by september, and yet the Germans were barely in russia proper by then because even at the start of barbarossa they fell behind schedule due to unexpectedly stiff resistance
>Would history change?
Naaah, they were doomed anyway.
>What would need to happen for Man in the High Castle to be real life?
Literally no chance in hell. Some serious Wolfenstein supernatural shit would need to be going if you wanted the US to fall to the fucking nazis of all people.
>the Soviets, now roughly at the 1941 border, decide we've done enough and come to the peace table.
you forgot the part where jesus christ comes back and shoots stalin in the head
>Hitler relied upon the common people realizing the potency of National Socialism to engineer a domestic revolution in places like Britain and France to overthrow their centers of global finance capital.
that sounds literally like communism
That's really changing the subject though, isn't it? Nazi Germany didn't invade in the winter, as fate would have it a late spring delayed them a crucial 4-5 weeks.
No, Hitler was up to his usual stupidity when they over threw the Soviets from Ukraine and the population welcomed the Germans with open arms. Oh gee, should we gain a million soldiers and millions more happily working in factories pumping out artillery and tanks to fight back against Stalin?.....or....crush the population, lose soldiers in quelling the uprisings and the buffer against the impending Soviet strikes? Hmmmm
>send a single bomber with an atom bomb to nuke germany
>proceed to have evey fucking AA cannon in germany pointed at your shit
lol retard
>when every AA gun is busy trying to take down the bomber send in a fleet from another direction to conventionally bomb the shit out of everything
Checkmate nazis
This may come as a shock but stalin was thinking about ( and talking inside his inner circle) making peace if D-day either got pushed back more or if it failed. He viewed that he was getting the raw end of the deal among the allies plus there started being question by the other allies about were the lend lease was going by that point. Some elements of the US and the UK government started to think that the USSR was stock piling supplies for use against them after the Germans were finished. USSR documents would not paint the matter in that light but they were for "a defense war against another major foe" . Adding to this there was another round of issues starting on the home front for the USSR, so Stalin did have reason to think about making peace.
Distrust and paranoia among the allies came a lot closer to saving the 3rd Reich then the German high command ever did.
>There are people who think Germany stood any chance of winning the war after June 22nd, 1941
how can people this dumb exist?
>But the united states is pretty much a country that shows what happens when you let anybody publish information and teach people the "facts".
the worlds greatest superpower?

If I had a time machine I'd go back in time and steal a handful of Hitler's pubes to sell on ebay. I'd get fucking rich faster than the blitz through poland!
Nothing, English and American Air dominance was much more of a threat. Everyone in my family who was in the Luftwaffe was flying on the eastern front to keep the Russen hordes at bay, I don't think Germany had enough troops and equipment to hold off both fronts.
>T. Kraut
I hate these threads and the dumb pissing contests that take place in them.
You see this photo anons.
That's a B-24 manufacturing line.
There were many lines like it, by many different companies in different states.
However the best one was the Ford Motor Company factory, which shit out a new B-24 bomber once every hour from each line, 24h a day, 365d a year until the war ended.
The USAAF built a training base right beside that plant, and couldn't train crews fast enough to keep up.
This is why the Axis + Japan was fucked when Roosevelt decided to enter the war on the UK & USSR's side.
The Soviet Union would span from north Japan to Spain
p much this
dumb wehrboos with time travel are the USSR's best friends
