I ask because when dealing with large amounts of flat reflective surfaces (water, snow, lego castles, etc) its very handy to have manual gain to dial down the reflective brightness of the shit around you. With that in mind I tend to steer people away from DTNVG and towards BNVD-G or AB MOD 3.

If its a non issue for you then go for it but manual gain is extremely cozy for long term use and when dealing with some odd situations

Nah but im honestly really happy with my Mod 3s and dont plan to replace them. Next night time optic is probably a CONV or COTI followed by another mono. Whats your current nod setup?

I havent seen anything on them aside from official marketing materials so I cant really say either way. What I can say is that you would probably be better off with a set of dual tube nods with DEP Ethers on them which is an upgrade path I might take with my MOD 3 down the line if I get bored.

I'm going to be buying an AR15 here this weekend. Last one I owned was a S&W M&P15. I liked it, but had its flaws.

In a nolight scenario, would there be any difference between the "Digital" NODS and the actual NODS? Because in both you would need to use an infrared illuminator, right?

Get AR first. Pick a lower you like, maybe Aero precision if you need a suggestion and then a BCM upper. ELW CHF barrel of your preferred length.

I built my A1-ish clone using Brownells upper, lower, and 1:12 barrel assembly, USGI furniture, Toolcraft BCG, and USGI/CMMG/DPMS small parts. It's pretty simple.

Anyone here have any experience with those A1 parts kits? I mean, is it worth spending $729 on? I remember a few years ago when I was short on cash they were $300. or maybe that was 5 years ago. Or more. I don't fucking remember.

Yeah I often recommend that because you can save anywhere from $20-$40 by going with a stolen valor rear. For the sake a of a slightly smaller and faster post I just recommended an MBUS pro set.
