Retarded organization with some regiments pretty much made up from vets and even ex-foreign legion guys and some from fat girls and skinny millennials and boomer mall-ninjas. But that's wrong. US is a conquered country. And what has National Guard done? Not a fucking thing. They haven't fired a single shot as millions of invaders came.
the Army has three main components those in Active duty those in Reserve and those in the National Guard(Which its classified as under active reserve)
Now being in the National Guard means you are defending your state The Governor of your state or somewhere near his power can call in you for any situation that is considered to big for local law enforcement so if you're a member of the Texas national guard then you're not gonna be dealing with any problem in California or with any other state just your state alone furthermore each state national guard while having the same physical standards has different customs and culture
The National guard physical requirements are higher than those in reserve though if you're a member of the guard you're also i wanna warn you sometimes when the Army active duty is low on manpower they basically recruit you because the NG is still just the Reserve and your unit becomes just another infantry unit

I've always had trouble understanding the national guard chain of command. So can the governor of texas actually deploy the texas national guard, by himself? I mean, could he order them to attack cartel bases in mexico? otherwise, what command over them does he actually have? And if the president orders them to be "active", can the governor override that order or are they automatically become part of the air force chain of command?
It says they have F-16s and Reapers. So its probably alone more powerful than the mexican air force?
