Every once in a while RTG will have cases of beater mags for around $1-2 each. I bought a case which I think was 100 mags and after cleaning I had 98 good ones.

Most G3 mags are aluminum, so no, they would not rust.

I wasn't sure if they were steel or not. Also user the floor plates, springs, and followers are steel though still user.
