i want to buy a sword and most of those that i like are made out of carbon steel. now most traders i talk with say that this kind of steel rusts very quickly and that you have to apply special japanese oil every few days to keep the blade in good condition. is this true or is this rather snake oil and a meme?
Swords
Buy one and dont oil it. Get back to us when you find out how fast it rusts.
>special japanese oil
A basic clove mineral oil for a European sword? No, they are dumb. Just don't use WD-40 on it and keep the oil out of the grip.
just smear butter all over it.
>just smear butter all over it.
Harlaus please stop...
Literally any oil will do. The point is to keep moisture off the surface.
well i'd rather not.
and how often do i need to do that roughly?
Tallow can be had for a few pence per pound, you could get a stones worth for the price of a quarter amount of butter
Just buy a good blade on kultofathena rub just about any oil on the bitch and it wont rust.
i want to buy two sbr cut pistol grip mosin nagants with chains attached at the grips so that they function as nunchucks
