Holy shit, that's beautiful. Can you post lewds of her?

What kind of groups are considered "good" for aimed shots at 25 feet?

HK is shit

What do you guys know about Ruger 1911s? Better choice than Spergfield for a 9mm?

>inb4 muh 45

but why ?

Why aren't they shit is a shorter list

Tell me about the S&W 5906, is it a good first pistol? LEO trade-ins are right in my price range

Manual does not recommend Hoppe's gun oil on the rails, so I can't break her in yet until I get some fancy Militec-1 or some shit to lube 'er up. I will report back soon on groupings.

I'm going to post a bunch of pics of it this weekend. I find it tasteful and well thought out. I'm hoping it shoots as good as it looks.

>just did a detail strip on my P-07
>first time doing a detail strip on any handgun
>got it all figured out, now time to get it back together
>oh boy, here's the hard part, the part that everyone says you should just take it to a fucking gunsmith for
>oh cool that's how the sear and everything fits in, just make sure it's all aligned and pop that fucking pin in there, goes right back together
>ok, now for the easy part, the one CZ touts in the omega system, the fucking bit you're supposed to be able to swap without tools at home with no experience
>GAPE MY ASS UNTIL I SPLIT IN HALF MOTHERFUCKERS

Fuck the decocker spring. Is there an easy way to get that cunt in there or is "get the long end into that little hole, fit the decocker in and hope that fucker doesn't pop out, and fucking push the short end down with a screwdriver until you get lucky and it doesn't slip and goes behind the fucking post on the decocker" my only option.

Ended up bending the short end of the decocker spring slightly, but I think it makes it better anyways because it has a little hook to catch onto that post now.

>buying a P-07
thats where you fucked up

Maybe. Trigger started out pretty decent but feels like it's gotten spongier as it's broken in. Think I wanna do a kit on it sometime. Fucking love the damned thing in every other way though.

Get the Cajun gun works trigger, it'll make it good.

That's the plan down the line.

I'm slowly turning into a .45fag. What handguns are good that use .45ACP?

Star Megastar.

>dan wesson makes the best 1911 on the market today
prove me wrong
>protip: you can't

Attached: dw-50th-anniversary-45-acp-1945-2000-900x600[1].png (900x600, 125K)

I took a spare small flathead screwdriver and filed a notch in the end of it. That made it a lot easier to push the spring in. And then I sold it to fund something else. But its a rare instance where I shoot a pistol enough that the sear pack gets dirty.

SIG P227

But user, it's impossible to prove that wrong
>Sig
No.

Thanks btw user. She's a beaut. More to come.

I love subtle touches like the polished contrast on the slide serrations. Also has great checkering on mag release and front and back straps.

I swear they picked that finish just to show off their machining.

Anyone own a 1911 22lr varient? I really want one but want to hear from someone who has shot one a lot. Looking at an ATI/GSG version. LGS has them for $220.

Attached: 75558_1.jpg (500x218, 11K)

you may be on to something

Attached: 20180607_224932.jpg (2576x1932, 1.52M)

Oof, there's a few really tiny flaws in this one. Not any that matter, though.

They'll probably be close, but instead of supporting a company like Springfield, who gladly throws customers under the bus and doesn't apologize for it, you'll be buying from a company that was previously headed by a guy who had some shit opinions and did some shit things, but who is now dead, with the current and previous CEO having worked very hard on to make up for his faults.

They're rock solid, probably slight overbuilt, but that makes recoil easier. Trigger isn't bad. There's a couple of generational differences on them, like square vs. rounded trigger guards, and differing sights.
As a first 9mm pistol, they really would be a pretty good choice.

What you can do is that instead of using the old 14rd magazines, or the old 10rd AWB era magazines, you can get brand new high quality magazines from MecGar, which hold 17rds without protruding out the grip, giving you capacity on par with a Glock 17.
Not the cheapest, but they'd be a very valuable upgrade to a gun that otherwise only holds 14, and they're very well made.

Attached: 5906 9mm Luger.jpg (700x1250, 446K)

What about the hand-crafted ones designed for autists?

MUH DICK

Attached: 1444816262741.jpg (567x461, 81K)

I softened up on Ruger after hearing the circumstances on Bill's decision. Their autopistols are still meh tho.

Neither of those is cocked and locked.
Also, thumb cocking is retarded, part of the reason for going to autoloading pistols was to get away from the revolver thumb cocking and double action non sense.
DA on an autoloader was a solution in search of a problem.

Jesse James.

Please go on

That's what I would do for a fancy pistol like that.

Nice heavy boat anchor with a pretty smooth trigger and will eat anything.
Only problems you might find with it other than weight are the mag disconnect which you can remove somewhat easily, the weight if you want to carry it, and the ambi slide safety if they're not your thing.

I kind of want an A2 since most of the lower cost dan wessons are stainless. I just want a nice quality, blued or nitrided, and decently featured gubmint-size 1911 that isn't crazy expensive.

Attached: don't talk to me or my wife's gun ever again.png (1296x972, 2.73M)

I'm seriously thinking of the A2 myself, Dan Wesson has made a hell of a reputation as being an excellent mid tier 1911 manufacturer whose products hold up favorably in comparison to guys like Les Baer and Ed Brown while usually being 500 dollars or more LESS.

I LOVE classic old school looking 1911s with blued finishes and vertical 90° slide serrations. The A2 hits that spot for me.

The only thing that can help that abomination is exterminatus

Engravings provide no tactical advantage whatsoever.

>break her in
This is a meme, just go blast. Take some pics nice trips.

The trigger does literally nothing, but the hammer is a really good upgrade if your sear is new enough to not also need replacement.

I don't think they're the BEST by any stretch, I can think of 6 manufacturers otoh that are lightyears ahead. But DW is by far the best value for money hell yeah.

I highly recommend against them, have had nothing but bad experience with .22 1911s and especially .22 1911 kits. But wait for more opinions before you do anything imo.

So DW gets the Burt seal of approval?

I have a GSG 1911 in .22lr. It needed a little break-in and it needs to be kept well lubed. It'll still get fussy every now and then but it's stupid accurate provided you do your part right. I didn't like it much when I first got it but it's really grown on me and now I take it out every time I go shooting.

I don't know what the prices are like on 22 caliber 1911s, but my grandad has one of the Browning ones, the Black label or whatever it is.
I ran about 2/3rds of a box of the Thunderbolt 22s through, bulk junk with lose crimps, that Browning didn't miss a beat.
I tried to limp wrist it, held it with just one finger and a thumb, and it still wouldn't choke.
A real dandy of a pistol if someone wants a 1911 like thing in 22.

was that an eaa/tangfolia witness u had in prev thread?

Litterally kill yourself there is absolutely no reason to take a platform meant to be chambered in .45acp and put a fucking .22 in it

Bigly.

If I had $1,200-1600 to spend on a 1911 it'd be a Danny Westland. Above $1,600 I'd start thinking "well for another $300 I could get a Les Paul" and under $1,200 I'd still be looking at Rustington, Sigheil and Luger and STD.

The four .45s? It was an EAA-imported SAR K2 .45. Picture related?

What a silly thing to say, there are many reasons, not least of which that the guns he's talking about aren't meant to be .45, they're bespoke .22 pistols top to bottom, engineered to be .22 exclusively.

Attached: sleep like merle.jpg (2400x1600, 1.06M)

yes that one - initially thought it was a cz-clone witness model. that also looks cz-ish. it's turkish? I was looking at eaa's 'witness elite' for a 10mm but the price point makes me suspicious of quality. wondering if anyone has any experience w/ them

Pros and cons of getting a .45?

Pros
>join the AARP club
>get discounts on meals
>nobody buys your ammo anymore
>the big hole is comforting
>proven effective
Cons
>lower capacity vs 9mm and 40
>non existent performance difference
>may be more recoil vs 9mm if you only shoot Wal Mart powder puff ammo

This coming from a guy who only owns handguns that have a caliber that start with a 4.
There's just no reason for someone to get into 45 in this era unless they are dead set on a 1911 or they want to shoot 45 Super from a USP and that's only because 1911s in 45 are less likely to give you trouble, the controlled round feed of the design gets cranky when you start messing around with OALs different from 230 grain ball.

Why my fuckin grip keep breaking

Attached: Pupazzo_Hitler_balla.gif (112x184, 46K)

Because you death grip it like it's your pecker.
youtu.be/AzLcDo4Wpbs

Xth for Glocks are okay

The K2 is turkish, the Witness Elites are Italian made by Tanfoglio. EAA is just an importer.

>#124
you blew it.

I take it that's why my sights shake one handed too?

Got the pro pack coming in today for my RAMI.

Yes, stop fapping

thanks fellas, appreciate the feedback!

>g43 for iwb
>vp9sk for owb
>Hudson h9 for range/competition/ possible winter carry
What do you faggos think?

Really wish I could find HSTs locally.

Buy Lubriplate SFL-0 and whatever oil you want for other things like the trigger pins and whatnot. Don't spend 10 million dollars on stupid 'gun' grease.

I ordered from streichers for a good price

Is there any reason why I should not purchase a Thompson Contender?

I live in commiefornia, so I cannot purchase all of the barrels.

It's only worth it if you get it in 45-70 and are a guide running human safaris.

Attached: HardTarget_1993_poster.jpg (259x384, 24K)

Finally got the Smith and Wesson 1006. Took a while to find a good one. This one has virtually no blemishes. Slight oxidation on the front and rear sights but that's really it. Massive grip for big hands I can't wait to shoot it

New handgun. Did I do good?

Not as good as

Took Tyrone to the range today.

>fudd

The 1006 is a great pistol, all steel, hammer fired, DA/SA, 10mm Auto.
See also the 4506, much the same thing, but in .45ACP (of course).
I like them better than 1911s, tbqh.

Really, the entire Smith & Wesson 3rd Gen line is a wonderful series of pistols, I'll take one of those over a Glockamatic, any day.
Nothing wrong with plastic, but steel just feels better in the hands.

Yes, Berettas are good pistols, especially if you have slightly bigger hands.
Can take 18+1rds of 9mm Luger in a flush fitting magazine, so the size isn't for nothing.

Attached: 4506 squared off.jpg (553x423, 64K)

What should my first handgun be? I'm thinking about one of these. and no I'm not joking, if you disapprove tell me why I shouldn't.

Attached: PPK.jpg (800x800, 65K)

Nice trips, It's ideal for self-defense on the streets, the only catch I see on them is that they look goofy as shit and they're too small for my hands.

I don't really like how the mag sticks out the grip that far but I really like the overall look other than that. My hands are kind of big but I want something I can cc easily.

Get a Ruger Mark IV instead.

It's all up to opinion, its a good gun I just think its goofy looking. Like personally antique original AKs with the wood makes me drool, but it's fucking useless off of a battlefield.

Who cares its fucking gorgeous. Sorry i want my killing machine to look absolutely beautiful.

What caliber is it do you know?

>already have a beater police 4506-1
>find a decently priced 4506 no dash in nearly new condition
>that square trigger guard and shrouded rear sight
Too bad my autism tells me I shouldn't own 2 of the same gun.

Attached: 1525144712696.png (539x540, 451K)

40cpr from SGAmmo

Not that nice trips. For one, you won't be finding a PPK very easily. They're also significantly heavier than polymer handguns of the same size. The recoil, while by no means horrible, is worse than a modern gun because the barrel is fixed. They're also not cheap, and .380 doesn't have many worthy self defense loads but 9mm has dozens.

tl;dr Get a ubiquitous single stack 9mm polymer for half the price.

The one on the left is nice, must be a fingerprint magnet though.

>40cpr from SGAmmo
Nah, including shipping it's a significantly worse deal than Bonefrog who I'm already not too interested in because shipping from them is like 11 bucks for 100 rounds of HSTs.

The PPK works, but it has some drawbacks, namely the stiff trigger, and that in .380ACP, recoil is snappy. Further, a lot of the S&W produced PPK pistols haven't always been so stellar in quality.

What are you looking for in a first gun? I take it Glocks don't interest you a lot if you're looking at a PPK, you're wanting something with a metal frame and a hammer, and you want something that isn't very big, so you can conceal it, too, am I right in that?

Do it anyway. If anything, it means you have spare parts for your .45, which is nice given that Smith & Wesson hasn't made them in forever.
Also, you could just once in a while do some John Woo plinking, just for yucks.

>1" Hole.

Yeah, you got it. I've always liked the look of brushed steel and wood grips, I don't mind extra weight in exchange for sturdiness. Small enough to be ankle holstered would be nice. But I think, all of that aside, reliability is the most important thing. I want something that functions well and is easy to take apart and clean.

It's not AS small, but it's relatively thin (and IMO, there's better ways to carry than ankle holsters), but if you find one, try out a Beretta 85, see how it feels and handles, ask if you can try it out at a range, even.

Attached: Beretta 85 Cheetah.jpg (640x640, 127K)

I'm looking into buying my first gun here soon and I settled on buying a full size 9 mm. I've basically been using the Jow Forums approved list in the sticky to help me narrow down my choices. Is there anything I should avoid from these suggestions? Or are there any guns you'd recommend for a noguns selected from the list or otherwise? I don't really plan on spending much more than 600-700 dollars. I might want to conceal carry at some point but I'm not really concerned with that at the moment.

Attached: Kappro.jpg (2500x2267, 1.33M)

That's definitely my style. I'll try to find one and check it out. Thanks for the suggestion.

Beretta's Cheetah pistols are very fine, especially the .380ACP ones.

If you don't mind a thicker grip, there also exists the Model 84, which takes a 13rd magazine. Very easy in recoil though.

Attached: Beretta 84FS.jpg (640x480, 51K)

Avoid: Beretta 92, CZ P-09, FNX/FNS, LH9, Ruger 9E, Sig SP2022, Sig P320, S&W MP9, Springfield XD

Attached: 1499556357153.jpg (710x698, 147K)

Avoid: listening to this faggot.

This poster is a nigger and should be ignored.

Sup, what's the best online place/price for a 9mm HK P30S at the moment?

Attached: the expanse cats.webm (640x360, 2.53M)

P30s got a price cut recently since no one buys them, you're looking at like 575 now.

Thinking about an M&P 2.0, an FN 509, or a CZ P10C. This will be for CC and HD. The M&P seems to be the best option, both because >Murrikan but also because extensive aftermarket and reputation for reliablity. The other two are interesting options because >not Murrikan and I hear they're breddy gud.

What should I get? Thinking about an M&P45 2.0 because I've never had a gun in .45 ACP.

*Also thinking about a VP9. Maybe an SK.

All of those are great guns. I love the M&P 2.0 series, but see if you can try them out on a range and see which one feels best for you.

I want to. The only thing scaring me away is that grip. It's an awesome texture for grippity grippity but seems like it would rub my belly raw in a CC capacity.

I carry a 2.0 compact in the winter, don't have any issues with irritation or grabbing clothes. You could always knock down the texture a bit with some sandpaper on the side that makes contact with your body.

See that's the thing, I'm moving to Florida so I need to think about hot weather carry. I don't really get hot weather here. Not like that. I'm a bit lost to be honest about conceal carry in the heat.
