I want to turn a room identical to pic related into a gun room/office/fag cave.
Problem is the sloped ceiling completely fucks any kind of horizontal wall mounting. I don't want to put anything on the walls since they're only 5' high and I don't want to hit my head on the ceiling to grab a gun thats basically sitting on the floor.
The next closest thing I can think of is to build floating islands and put everything on a-frame stands.
Anybody have any ideas?

Why not make inverted gun racks and screw them to studs in the sloped ceiling?
You can make a standing horizontal wall rack too in the center of the room
Brick off the window and you have a flat wall.
Frame out the sloped wall to be square with some shit crawlspace storage behind it.
Not OP, but I've lived in rooms like his and this will totally fuck with walking.
My suggestion is vertical racks flush with the wall and mounting longer guns on the un-sloped walls. This is assuming the vertical portions of the sloped wall are at least 3 or 4 feet high.
You could also do peg and hole boards on the ceiling with protruding bike-style hooks and just hang the guns.

I have way too many guns for the one wall, or else I would.
The room is only 24x18 and it has three dormer windows on each side. Regardless I don't want to do that much construction for a much more claustrophobic room. It would turn into a hallway

What about putting in some eye bolts in the angled ceiling, and hanging the guns from hooks on various lengths of chain?
just put the guns in boxes, much handier format, just a bit boring.
buy a ton of bike hooks and screw them into the sloped roof

Mount your guns on the ceiling under mirrors. Then build a rolling track with a board at the front door so you can lay down and kick yourself off the wall and look at every gun as you roll past.
I dont see the problem, a gun rack on that wall would look sick.
