Are you my mummy?
I'll just stick my face in her ass and inhale her farts
is that a dude
>her (male)
I don't because gas masks are regulated military equipment and illegal to own for a civilian.
I have 2x MUA's, 1x PBF, and one juden M15. I really need to get my priorities straight
I don't have to take shit from a (((female)))
I've got this thing, an M17, and a 3M Full face respirator.
>those arms
oh shit, that's one of those aircrew smoke masks with the inflating quick-don harness
those are neat af
how much did you score it for? those are somewhat uncommon on the surplus market, I think.
these be drawfagging and milsurp restoring arms, not liftin' arms
>these be drawfagging and milsurp restoring arms, not liftin' arms
Ironically I get called out for showing off when my arms are in frame. You can't win, you'll always trigger someone somehow
So what are the best gas masks that l can get?
Why would I ever wear a gas mask when instead I can wear a turnip on my head?
Avon FM-12
Avon FM-53
Scott M/95 (pictured is the original Finnish Kemira-produced version)
Forsheda F2/A4
Avon C50
Scott Promask
Airboss C4
Airboss LBM
Just picked up a sealed M9A1 the other day for 30 bucks. Gunna get a 60mm to 40mm conversion so I can use NATO Filters. Ive also got an M17A1 and a Czech M10. Looking to pick up a GP-5, a West German M67, an M40, a PMK and a PMG for them Metro Cop aesthetic
oh hell yeah the Mexican lady next door sells avon stuff thanks my dude
np
good luck!
So what do you personally consider to be the best gas mask if you actually had to use it?
I work in aviation.
The box it was in was damaged. So they let me have it, even though there is nothing wrong with it.
Personally, my vote would go to the FM-12/S-10 or Forsheda F2
They really aren't much better than any of the other masks listed, but they have many robust features and good qualities about their design while also being very simple to use and maintain compared to the Avon 50 series, which do have a lot more features and accessories, but they aren't neccessary and every other aspect of the design is on par with the others.
I'd also consider the M/95 superior if it's drinking system weren't so proprietary and difficult to find adapters for. Not to mention on some examples, the drinking port covers are prone to breaking if abused.
Definitely hold onto that sucker, you can probably get a good amount of money for it. Aviation shit is retarded expensive I notice.
Checking in.
Anons, please don't respond to this post. You could get your name on a list for owning that type of stuff, no joke.
Kek
That's good, because I have mountains of aviation stuff.
I used to work on warbirds so I ended up with lots of vintage stuff.
It happens. I've got a 30mm cannon (barrel) from a mig in my garage lol
I didn't know North Koreans could post on Jow Forums...
>I don't have to take shit from a (((female)))
Noodle boy, are you some kinda panzy liberal or something?
lolwhat
Pretty sure he could fuck you up and down left and right
got any proof she is a trap?
Fucking larping retards as usual
that image the gas mask equivalent of blinker fluid memes
That's pretty hot. Who's the grill?
Ha
Is that a starter pack? Doesn't look like a bingo board.
i got an MSA Millenium cheap, and own a few 3M masks for work. Both are good and would recommend, check those off.
The only 3M mask I genuinely enjoy is the 7800 series
Also I've vocalized many occasions that I'm personally not a fan of the MCU/Millenium design, there's just way too many drawbacks with the design to be worth the average msrp for them for me, personally. I know lots of other people like them, and I agree the design is aesthetic, but the mask is a mess in terms of it's overall practicality in comparison to other modern designs.
Some of us acquired stuff while we were in the military, user.
Would save but afraid its a dude.
That's actually gayer than saving it regardless.
Where you in the military in the 90s?
>Black C2
>average msrp
oh 100%. I'm fairly certain they price it like that so only people or companies that need it buy it. They only are worth that when you're using them every day in a work environment that absolutely requires them, but I've rarely needed it to that degree. I picked up mine for $50 with an expired filter from 2014 a few months back. As for the 3Ms I only use small APRs like the 6000, and though I've thought of picking up something like the 6800, the light-weight and small size of the 6000s are amazing when you're using them often.
The old stuff nobody uses anymore is what the mil tends to not care about and get rid of
fair enough
If you're going to respond, you might as well admit that you're the guy in the picture.
You aren't fooling anyone anyway noodleboy. Stop being a fag and start lifting.
Will splashproof goggles really stop stuff like CS gas? I don't have much faith in that seal.
Nougat, can i use a 60s industrial mask like the Clearvue as a proper protective mask if i update the fittings?
I like the Aesthetic.
nope sorry, not sameguy, would have said (you) in your tag here if it was me
i really don't care, I'm just confused as to why you're so razzed over a shitpost, my dude
or how it translated into me being a liberal for that matter lmao
potentially, yes. you'd need to find fittings that work, though.
taking a normal gas mask hose and putting industrial male threads on the mask end of it might do the trick
good attempt at obscurity homeland security, If I post my masks you will know what gas to use and my average time to swap filters.
is that you in the pic, user?
that's an adorable Jow Forumsat you've got if so
I really wanna get an avon S-10 next, currently the only two I own are an M-10 that I purchased for spraypaint fumes and a Drager M65 for CS gas at my local protests.
neat
It's fucking Jow Forums. Isn't that enough proof for you?
Nah its my bro but my cat and rifle.
The cat was named maggot because when I got him he had a hole rotted into his neck from a botfly larva that i had to extract. He was almost dead and he never meowed again just this raspy croak instead.
This post EXCITES me
>Weeb shit
>Flat chest
>Gas mask
>Thigh highs
>Not thicc
>mfw definitely has a dicc
oh fuck, the poor thing...
I'm glad to hear he's better, though
5 of our 7 cats we raised from birth. thier mother was a stray that came to our doorstep and we loved her so much that we took her in and found out she was pregnant. we had to give her away to a good home because she kept trying to beat the literal shit out of our other two cats. all 5 of her kittens are going up healthy and seem to mostly get along with our first two cats.
I hope maggot lives the rest of his life in good care, user
oh god, I'd never think I'd see a james liang pic here (assuming that is him)
It's some autistic kid from my school actually, surprised you know the guy.
I could tell you some funny stories about him if you like, a real oddball.
Oh trust me, I fucking know
the kid is a bane to the community and quite the living meme, I'm getting some dudes from the gas mask collector's discord in this thread they're gonna fucking die when they hear someone who knows liang irl is in the thread.
Yes
posting obsolete junk
do recap any good stories you have though, user
me and the boys could use a good laugh
>obsolete junk
surprisingly Model 4A1's are quite decent and capable masks and as far as I know, are still being produced and handed out in Israel to this day.
so pic related is a trap just because shes posted on Jow Forums?
yes
Yeh, i was being a bit facetious. I actually like it, it's more comfortable than the M40 I had in the army. It's just I can't find any new production 40mm non-asbestos filters for it that's annoying.
do you need all that gear in your house because of how dirty it is?
You can't? There's plenty of unexpired (if not, within 5 or so years past expiry, but still sealed and functional) filters all over eBay. A little on the pricier side, but nevertheless common.
Here's a few examples:
ebay.com
I bought 4 PMG mask for 20 bucks. Did I do good?
hmmm, i'm gonna have to budget for some of these. thanks for the links user, you're a real patriot.
>complains about obsolete junk
>1911
Pottery
hell yeah, 20 bucks is a pretty good price considering most of the ones online are like $30 with $20 slav shipping
np my dude
what should my first gas mask be, im a newfag and I know nothing about them. educate me
Get a GP5 and Polish FP5 Filters
depends on what you're budget is and what you want it for (collecting? larping? personal protection, etc?)
probably collecting or larping (still don't know what the word means really, but I think I have a somewhat rough idea) and I don't know what the average price of one is so I don't know what a good budget would be
any mask between the 50s-80s is the best place to start and can be found around 20-60$ depending on the mask
They are literal safety equipment and readily available at every industrial supply shop in the world.
>But the industrial versions are different
By less than you think.
The price is entirely dependant on the mask's desirability, rarity, and condition. Assuming you're just looking for a mask to collect and possibly fool around in, some of my personal first mask reccomendations are:
>Polish MC-1
>Swiss SM-74
>Czech CM-4
>Russian GP-5
>U.S. MSA Ultravue
>Finnish M/61 (and a 60-40mm thread adapter)
>Israeli Model No.4A1
All of these masks commonly can be found unissued and under $30. They all use 40mm threads (although the M/61 needs an adaptor as previously stated, plus the GP-5, CM-4, and MC-1 are all GOST 40mm, which cannot quite fit NATO 40mm, so you'll have to get a Chinese 'Normalized' Gas Mask hose in order to use them with NATO filters)
You can get most ComBloc gas masks for under 20 bucks[Ive seen GP5s go for literally 5 bucks]. The only problem is the Soviet filters have asbestos. They are 40mm just like NATO STANAG masks but have a different thread pitch so they dont form a seal with NATO filters. Poland made/makes? The FP5 filter which will work with both NATO and GOST threads. Stay away from Cheek filter masks like the US M17 or anything based off of it. Cheek filter masks look cool af tho.
>Finnish M/61
I bought an M9A1 sealed the other day and Im wating in a thread converter. Are the converters for NATO filters?
thanks, where is the best place to buy these? ebay? will I have to clean them before use and such?
E B A Y

Buy a cheap one on budk.com just don't expect it to protect. Hella asthetic though.
>Are the converters for NATO filters?
what do you mean? convert NATO to what?
the 60-40mm adapters take both NATO and GOST threads to my knowledge.
Also an M9A1 is a little archaic, you aren't planning on using it for any serious protection, are you, user?
thisalso sometimes you will, as masks, being made of rubber, have a natural phonomena known as 'bloom', where the excess sulfur in the cured faceblank evaporates from the rubber over time, mixing with the talcum powder on the serface designed to keep the rubber from sticking while in storage.
Most of the time, soap and water will do the trick, but bloom can be pesky, so a soft brush and if you're a real pro, coconut/olive oil can also be used to remove it by rubbing it into the affected spot and wiping the excess oil free once the bloom as cleared.
alright thanks man, i'm gonna go to sleep and probably buy one tomorrow. thanks for not being judgemental too a newfag
ps: what does larp mean
Figured this is probably the best thread to ask this question in. Does anybody know how CS gas was employed by special operations guys in Vietnam? It's very common to see MACV and other high-speed guys carrying M7A2 CS gas grenades and wearing/carrying XM28 masks. Were they popped in structures/tunnels/etc. exclusively? Used to ambush commie foot patrols on rough trails?
What kind of nonsense does this Liang guy get up to among gas mask and CBRN gear collectors?
no problem user
also it stands for "live action roleplay"
if you plan on frequenting these threads as much as me, expect to see preppers, Jow Forums purists, and people with an odd hatred for military/surplus gas masks use the term as an insult.
the main thing he's known for is hilariously wearing his glasses underneath his masks (hence why most pics of him in masks have fogged lenses), but the main thing you should know is that he's kind of a moron that damages a lot of the things he gets. Once he flat-out burned a black C2 filter because he was apparently bored.
>M9A1
>Archaic
>Using it for protection
Unironically yes. I have the 60-40 convertor and FP5 Filters on the way. Shit is comfy af desu
I would have at least gotten an M/61 or something, riveted harness masks with wire-and-taped hardware are well past their prime
but you do you, user
also as another warning, M9A1's discolor like a bitch. Expect it to turn yellowed very quick if you bring it outside or in direct contact with sunlight often (unless you have one of the hoods designed for it).
I mean I totally get what you're saying my guy but It was sealed in the tin until yesterday. Plus it was 30 bucks so I cant complane. They look pretty neat too! Mine was made by Firestone in 1959
Any recommended way to clean an M9?
Yeah I'd believe that's a trap
the discoloration doesn't come off unless you harshly scub the thing, which you don't wanna do as this removes a small layer of rubber. This site is selling the M3 T.A.P. Hoods for the M9 series like I have if you want: omahas.com
