The elephants which get shot like this are all 40+ year old and can no longer reproduce. The death of this elderly elephant enables 100 young elephants to be protected from African poachers which will kill them in inhumane ways.

Same. I'm not sure of the context. Maybe it was killing a bunch of african villagers and some rich guy wanted to pay them 80 grand to take it out, maybe it was diseased and had to be put down, i don't know.
I wouldn't ever want to shoot an exotic animal in a far off country though, just feels wrong.
