Hey Im new to firearms whats so bad about Colt?
Op here I was going to get an 80% kit to build a 1911 since thats legal but Im not sure why the kits are so much more costly.
As a side not what about this Lee-Enfield as a first fire arm?

They're a household name, but also completely unrelated to the Colt you think you know. They've gone bankrupt multiple times and changed hands over and over. These days, they just make average-quality firearms for top dollar because people will buy anything with the pony on it.
Other brands worth steering clear of (for similar reasons) are Remington and Springfield Armory.
>1911
Ayyyyy
Good to know thanks for the good info user! I appreciate it!
No worries, man. No one is born knowing this stuff.
Just don't kill yourself
holy fuck i thought that was a legit colt paddel ball attachment
I didnt plan on it lol. Last thing I want is for libs to have another reason to take people rights away
Only old colt is good colt.
Ruger is now the official /made_in_usa/ gun guy.
> remington
Their 1911's are fine. I own one and plenty of other people can agree that it works fine.
> springfield
If you're buying a springfield 1911, buy a used one.
>have to be 21
children off K!
op you can find an old Colt for reasonable prices if you look around enough
got pic related (compact) for about $600
not a steal. but seemed fair enough
>t
it was even more fairer before i put the idiot scratch in it
I might go to another site that isnt armslist. Know of any other good firearm sale websites
From what I hear the modern Colt 1911 are better than the specific generation of 1991s that you posted in your image. Modern Colt 1911s are fine if you're looking for a blued 1911 at a decent price. As far as I know none of the major brands offer a blued 1911 for less than $1000.
IME, my Colt 1991 from 2015 is great. Accurate as hell, great fit and finish. Has never had a jam with my Tripp Research magazines, but I get occasional jams with the factory mags that came with it. Take that how you will.
Gunbroker is good to go. Just find a seller that takes credit/debit so you don't have to go through the hassle of doing a money order.
Thanks for the advice user
They're good just dont but anything post 2014
>Removing slide stop prior to recoil spring
>1911 digits
JMB blessed this day
but the idiot scratch happened when reassembling tho, not disassembly
