I'm looking for my first concealed carry please convince me not to get a Glock I would really like a gun with a safety (I know fuck me right?)
First Conceled Carry
Are we still allowed to bump? I've been gone a while.
Glock has a safety, it's a trigger safety. Get a Glock 43
don't put your finger on the trigger unless you're ready to shoot
pay attention when holstering your pistol, especially if you have a jacket with any loose strings or other things that could catch on a trigger.
congrats, you can now carry a glock safely.
I can get a glock 27 with night sights for $330 and the 9mm conversion barrel for another $100. should I go for it?
>I want a safety
>I won't carry with a round chambered
>I won't reconsider the clothes I wear
>I won't train how to properly shoot on a regular basis
>I won't carry half the time because now convenience or because nImbtoo scared of printing
>I will eventually loose interest in the 'gun hobby' because, it was just a meme

What holster should I get for a Glock if I'm paranoid about the trigger?
Honestly, I am willing to do all of those things to stop feeling afraid to go in public I just got out of the military and moved to TX so I can finally CC. Lay it on me senpai.
Glock are fine but if you're dead set on a safety get an M&P. The safeties are huge and easy to flip off. Only downside is a meh trigger but let's face it you'd probably drop a new trigger on the Glock after a while.
The fuck? Why would you do that? Just get a 43 if you were going that route
then I'd have to wait for a used 43 to pop up or buy new. the 27 is here now.
>6+1
Are there any bigger options? I'm willing to carry a fuckhuge gun and change my wardrobe to accommodate it.
If you are afraid to go out in public you are probably a faggot. Just carry a hi-point
>PTSD is not real.
Ok, general Patton suck my dick.
Get a G43 if you want something only to carry, or a G19 if you want something that is also good to shoot on a range if you're not a sissy about weight

Glocks do have safeties. You will be fine as long as you
>buy a quality holster that fits your gun
>keep OEM internals on your gun and do not dick with the internals or the geometry of how the parts interact with one another
>understand basic firearm safety rules and safe reholstering techniques
>buy and utilize the Gadget SCD when reholstering

I carry a near stock Glock 19 everyday in a Darkstar Gear Orion with a Gadget. No problems or fears of ND'ing into myself.
An M&P 2.0 with a thumb safety would be a fantastic alternative. The triggers on the 2.0 are good along with stock Glock triggers. I think the whole trigger snob thing is massively overblown.
anything kydex. don't do leather with a glock

Really shouldn't beat yourself up over that, glocks are as safe as you are but they're also a much less forgiving design than many other choices. Considering your probable odds of needing to shoot in self defense vs NDing it's pretty reasonable to pick as safe of a design you can without seriously hampering your effectiveness.
The fact of the matter is that most revolvers, firearms with a safety, and decocker based firearms are perfectly fine choices for self defense. Having a gun is much more important than which gun you have, over 90% of DGUs don't involve a single round being fired. Leaving a glock at home one day or carrying it on an empty chamber is a much greater liability than a safety let alone DA firearm. Since it's your first gun I'd probably recommend going with a medium sized revolver or a compact sized firearm with a decocker if you don't feel comfortable with the glock but if you're dead set on the safety it isn't a big deal as long as you train to always turn it off/on when firing or stopping firing a string. Gripping the firearm so that you ride the safety 24//7 is a good idea too.

Rent as many as you can, or at least try to rent a revolver, striker fired gun, and DA/SA with a decocker style so you can make a somewhat informed decision on what works best for you.

To go along with this, this article is a good start on figuring out what works for you.
>"I just fuck ing shot my self"
I bought my first CC a bout a year ago. I had the same mindset, my dad is an ex army fudd, he's like get a glawk.
I was like no, and I want a manual safety. So I carfully did my reasearch for months, found what I like about features, went to gun stores, got a feel, rented a few thing, raisedy budget. I ended up getting a Glock.
It was a close tie between that, walther and m&p
did he dieded? also how did he fire a shot by bending down?
>did he dieded?
Happened very recently, IIRC hes likely to survive.
>also how did he fire a shot by bending down?
Cause of ND/AD isn't yet known that im aware of, glock type firearm in an incog holster. Probably an ND involving clothing in the holster or a similar obstruction if i had to guess. Gun was probably only mostly holstered and bending forward pressed his gut up against the grip tripping the trigger on whatever was in there.
>carrying it on an empty chamber is a much greater liability
Why is it a liability at all? Very inexperienced shooter, so genuine question.
If you are carrying to be prepared for a larger variety of scenarios vs not carrying, you are limiting yourself quite a bit by not chambering a round. This logic works both ways, however, and the isreali army is taught to carry without a round in the chamber. CC isn't the same thing as carrying in combat though.
Never doubt 'ol tooth drillin' cavity fillin' paul "i actually kill people" harrell
CZ Rami, Sig P938, or Walther P99c. All the reliability of a glock, none of the awful ergonomics and aesthetics. Plus way more safe.

Has some pretty good real world examples. Suffice it to say that many if not most defensive shootings go 0-60 in a few seconds and drawing and firing a gun is much easier than drawing, racking, and then firing a gun. You can't just draw on that creepy dude because he's speed walking up to you with his hands in his pockets. If you go for your firearm and it becomes exposed at any point you are committing a felony in most places, particularly if it turns out to be a misunderstanding or if the would be mugger wisely decides to find something else to do in a hurry but a bystander just sees you flashing a gun at some dude and reaching for it. Technically in most places you wouldn't be legally allowed to draw/show your firearm until they're already committing a shooting offense or engaged in behavior which your local anti self defense prosecutor agrees(after the fact) would lead a "reasonable man" to think they were in the process of attempting to do so. In many cases that ends up meaning they're in the act of pointing a weapon at you themselves by the time you can legally go for yours. Due to brandishing laws and general inattention a surprising number of self defense shootings seem to involve counter ambushes and it's a lot easier to slip inside of somebody's OODA loop when they only have something like .5s to realize their robbery has turned into a shootout before they're being thoroughly and repeatedly perforated.
M&P Shield without safety
buy a ruger LCP II and thank me later. Everyone is always worried, just get a holster that fully covers the trigger guard and you will be fine.
Really, if its your first time carrying get something small, get good with it and learn how to conceal and draw it well. then move up to something bigger when you feel more confident. LCP triggers are like revolvers, it would be impossible to snag the trigger if you have a good holster.
I prefer the 26 to the 43 myself. There is so many after market glock parts that you can fix any problem you have with them. And the 26 can take any single stack mag so if you get a pcc or another glock you can mag share. Plus the 43 is smaller yes but not really that much smaller.
