Anyone here able to tell me whether a small rail section would fit between the spacing of the folded wire stock? Rail is supposedly .75" wide and I've read the spacing is ~3/4".
I'd like to put an RMR on one of the upper receivers for the Skorpion I'm SBRing.
>have skorpion sbr-ing >doesnt have access to a rail >wants to put rail on top of a top eject gun with minimal room
Know how I know you are a noguns and full of bs?

>let's put a rail on my hip firing smg
No.
Brayden Foster
I think you'd be better off messing with the rear sight (i.e. modifying an existing rear sight component/fitting an rmr mount in the rear space/cutting a dovetail, or whatever else). I imagine the upward ejection and overfolding stock would present issues, such that I wouldnt make the modification; however, I'm not particularly interested in the platform.

I don't have a skorpion stock, but nice projecting ;)

>minimal room
Ayden Perry
Only problem with that would be the stock wouldn't be able to fold closed. The reason for a rail is I can put the RMR on a quick detach rail mount like the Kinetic one, so I can just pop the optic on/off for the day.
Asher Green
The stock will not be able to be folded with a rail welded to the top. The rail is wider than the stock wires.
So you've never seen the rails for M1s, Minis or M14s and you somehow think the Vz has minimal room while living in the age of factory handguns cut for red dots

Can you give a little more info or photo for credibility?
Very interesting. So you made a custom stock adapter that you can attach the RMR mount to? Now a fixed stock tho :(
>Can you give a little more info or photo for credibility? No, but prior to me making the stock adaptor I measured it. I assure you the rail is wider than the ID of the stock wires.
I'm going to make another one of these but made to attach a VZ58 stock to
You may very well be able to just open up the stock enough to fit over the sight
Landon Carter
Is the wire portion of the stock inserted into the "ports" of the folding mechanism of the stock and retained by pins?
Also, how is the rear sight attached and would it be feasible to use the rear sight attachment point as a basis for attaching an RMR mount (e.g. milling down an actual rear sight flat, and welding a flat-bottom RMR mount to that)?
Really appreciate your info!!

Rear sight wings are welded. The stock wire is crimped in place. You cannot just bend the existing stock without lengthening it first. Otherwise the stock will impact the front of the receiver/trunion
Blake James
Now with the .380 guns being offered with a front rail this is finally getting feasible.
>Rear sight wings are welded. Ok, but this would still allow for the existing rear sight to be milled down flat and welding a flat-bottom RMR mount onto that, right?
>The stock wire is crimped in place. Hmm. You mean inserted into the ports and the ports are crimped down onto the wire? Is it possible to uncrimp/remove the wire anyway? I wouldn't want to bend the existing stock, but have another one made that is the correct length with the bends. Like the guy did in this thread

Lol it's a new production range toy, not a first production Springfield 1903.

Its his gun. He can do what he wants with it. I sure do with mine.
You literally disgust me as much as this guy at a LGS who thought a Hakim and an Enfield were the same rifle.

youtu.be/WdHWtqYDc58 Its airsoft but it still works. He couldn't find a way to add the mount and fold the stock.
Charles Rivera
How much wider? Could you make it work by skinning 1-2mm off the sides of the rail? Reduces the bearing surface, but as long as the particular mount you plan to use makes solid contact, it seems like it could be a solution.
Christopher Wilson
>it still works no it doesn't lmao
