Ok, can we take a second to talk about STALKER MOTHERFUCKING 2?? Seriously, as soon as it was announced, this entire fucking board blew up and then was never talked about again. What the fuck happened?

Its 3 years away
We'll probably all dead by the time it comes out. If it ever comes out.
What is there to talk about?
It's LITERALLY a page with a date on it.
how can anything take this fucking long !!??
if you already know how to make games cant you do it faster than literally fucking years?
>As reported by DTF and translated by IGN, Epic Games' Sergey Galyonkin said on his podcast that, "the head of [developer GSC Game World], Sergei Grygorovych announced the game without consulting with anyone".
>Grygorovych apparently announced the game before E3 to demonstrate public interest to potential publishers, who could pick up the game at June's conference.
Because the announcement was just a ploy to find a publisher that will give Sergei money
Shit is still in the design document phase which is why there's not even any screenshots or artwork to go along with the announcement.

Most of the developers who worked on the original STALKER games left to 4A, Vostok, and elsewhere
get a load of this retard
It's gonna be online, sorry dude.
>how can anything take this fucking long !!??
They're probably building a new engine from scratch. That's why.
i expect progress and i want constant reports
/v/eddit had threads about it, they showed "sneak peaks" with a scene of the character doing minor things inside a forest, and an abandoned home with ghosts in it.
I think they will use frostbite or "crysomething something", I didn't read too much into it.
It's probably the Cryengine then.
How can it be STALKER 2 when there are already three games?
>What the fuck happened?
Maybe they realized there was a board for video games.
Stalker = 3 game series
Stalker 2 = new series of games
>Most of the developers who worked on the original STALKER games left to 4A, Vostok, and elsewhere
Why do people say this like it really matters?
means a second game wont have the same chemistry or magic of the first game
It's going to be a battleroyal I gaurentee it.
Because...? It's not as if the source material is hard to find or doesn't exist. Hire a project manager who understands the franchise and they can guide the development team. Come on, don't be retarded and act like making games is fucking magic.
I suppose its something to the effect of "the people who made the thing you like have nothing to do with the coming sequel to the thing you like, meaning it will presumably have a different design direction and be implemented by people not necessarily familiar with the property". Its not really an indictment of the new team itself, more a rebuttal to the guys who were getting all hyped when GSC got "back together" when it was totally different people involved.
STFU
It's just gonna end up like that Liru game on /h/.
>NEVER
>EVER
You know that's been out for nearly a year now?
No concept artwork, no hints to mechanics, game engine etc.. Its just an empty page and maybe a cry for funding by GSC.
Nobody's talking about it because it'll probably get canceled like the two times before this.
You really dont know that came out a while ago?
They're probably just fishing for investors and have nothing even completed yet. Also, new engine.
Yeah but you get the idea
Rumor has it Ubisoft will have a trailer for it this E3
>Ubisoft
You shut the fuck up with that heretical bullshit this instant.
>Stalker game using the Far Cry engine where you go around Chernobyl in 1986 killing communists for an anti-nuclear energy hippy cult that turns out to be the CIA that has you destroy the facility
Not a bad engine, seems hopeful.
It's not a very easy task to find someone who can get in the same or similar mindset to someone else.
Video games belong on v or vg
How many games have you made?
>you have to make video games to know it's not impossible to make similar creative works with a different team of creators
Ok.
More like 7.
>stalker game using the far cry engine where you liberate sections of Chernobyl by completing missions and clearing outposts. Areas that have been “liberated” no longer spawn hostile AI
