AR-10 thread

General ar-10 thread but, also I picked up this bad girl 2 weeks ago. DPMS ar-10 with a 4×32 3-9. I'm having trouble controling recoil when shooting the big girl, wondering if you guys have any advice for me in trying to shoot long distance currently working at 200yards but hope to achieve 500.

I do t think you understand. In a bit new to shooting. And whenever I shoot at 200 yards in always off target when I sight back in for another shot

I don't know if it's my trigger pull or if my breathing pattern is off, it just seems like I find it hard to keep the rifle centered on target.

>when I sight back
Will pretty much always happen and doesnt matter as long as you are landing your hits.

Gotcha, was reading an article about how professional sharpshooters make sure that recoil always sends the rifle straight back so they can stay on target. I guess practice makes perfect, get gud, and all that.

Add a shit ton of weight and a very efficient muzzle brake... Then get rid of all the ricer garbage on your rifle.... or better yet, just toss everything but the upper and lower receiver and start again...

This.
Dont pay attention to meme sniper tacticool rangefag shit.
Get good at controlling your breathing, squeezing slow and consistent, and make sure you pull the rifle tight against your shoulder.

I built a ar-10 from a 80% cost me about $800 as a high estimate.

poor "people" shouldn't be allowed to live/own firearms.

Mine was 749.99

Hardly see how a Bushnell flashlight is "ricer shit" I plan on purchasing offset ironsights and sight them for 50 yards in case of home defense

All in all I spent about a grand on my whole build

Nice gun, user! Tbh, I'd suggest seeing if there's a local gun club that offers classes for long range shooting. Even finding someone who wants to teach you basics would be great! What you're going to want is learning to deal with recoil and breath control, something that any Fudd who's competed in matches could help you with.

>Hardly see how a Bushnell flashlight is "ricer shit"
ironic if not bait...

>4×32 3-9
That doesn't make any fucking sense.

Here is the SR-25

Yeah, I got that... But why?

Griffin armament m2

longboi

Thank y-you kind user

It was part of the lower parts kit, cmmg. I thought I would get used to the hump, but it just keeps fucking me

Nope, pastey white boi

Holy fuck you are a pussy bitch, ar 10 recoil is light as fuck

3-9 zoom and magnification is x40

No... That isn't what those numbers mean... That would be a 3-9x40

Primary arms 1-8... Or swfa if you do range shooting...

A good muzzle brake. The concussion sucks, but you get less recoil by a margin.

It looks beautiful, man. Not everyday that I see
an 80% gun in my neck of the woods.

Depends on if you're using the scope for long range DMR stuff or close in shooting.

Also, good choose in stock. I always prefer those because they're more sturdy at the cost of a low-par adjustable one.

Probably DMR

Alright, mate. I'm not good with long range stuff....lol. But, I think this might give you a good starting point. They have one video in this one about optics. Hope it helps.

to further elaborate, its a variable zoom from 3x to 9x, with an objective lens size of 40, the larger the objective lens the better field of view, but also it gets bulky
