How likely is a 35n to get language pay? Wanted to do that, but 30k bonus and at least 6k a year in language pay for 35p is nothing to laugh at.

>but 30k bonus and at least 6k a year in language pay for 35p is nothing to laugh at.
pretty sure i wouldnt pass that up

Signed AV, what am I in for? air conditioned rooms on a ship, fixing aircraft?
or endless bullshit work?

fugg, I was pretty set on N though. Assuming I'm getting a 300+ on apft and pick up airborne in ait, which has a higher chance of swoopy shit?

Got nothing in my life looking up toward, heavily considering joining the FFL. Can hardly find any info on the processes and what to expect, even the official site has fuckall and is translated by an ape.

There are some leafs, bongs, and anzacs from time to time. As for FFL, the subreddit has a couple of active or recently ets'd guys with good writeups.

Where can I get hired in the Military to make quality shitposts like this video?

currently I’d say both have a good chance, 35P is noticeably harder because of that DLI.

Well shit, I guess I'll go 35p then. I finally sat down and worked out the numbers, and I'd be making just shy of twice as much over a 4 year hitch, assuming I literally never deploy.

DO NOT fucking do 35P over 35N because of a stupid cash bonus. What if you fail language school, then by bye bonus and hello needs of army for 6 years. If you go 35n, just reup into 35p and get a 60-80k bonus PLUS choose your language, and if you fail youre still a 35N.

>350F who failed dli in his first contract, and was luckily reclassed into 35N instead of cook and some other bullshit mos like some of my classmates.

ACASP, so it's 4 years instead of 6 and I can skip DLI, literally the only reason I'm considering it.

Combat Camera or Public Relations. Both require some of the highest ASVAB/GT scores.

What language?

Camera, because theres at least the chance for travel and seeing some shit. Public relations are the dudes on base who set up events and volunteer stuff with the local town.

Cont

Depending on language i can tell you which unit you should push for.

Also what was your dlpt score? Or how did they score you?

Whats pt level at?

Are you married? And do you want to do cool shit or just sit in basement?

But ya, if youre skipping dli, then totally go for 35P. Thumbs up from me.

hey look its my country's army. cool

Is a 67 on the asvab high enough?

fucking taigg piece of shit gtfo

it's 2pm in Ireland, how are you still sober enough to type?

92 or higher in every aptitude, signed up for 6 years of 2A7X3 (USAF, structural maintenance). No bonus. I couldn't pass the color plate test. Was trying to go 9S100 and even took a special test (Data Processing or something like that) and passed. Then they told me it was a color vision job. I can see 99% of color just fine, which is why it's so painful that I can only sign up for a fraction of military jobs.

Better luck next time, nerd. At least you don't live in a time and place where this would keep you from being able to discern edible plants from poisonous ones.

Jobs ask for line scores, not the overall percentile score of your ASVAB, which is largely meaningless. Find out what your GT score is and look up the job on goarmy.com, where they list the requirements.

Public Affairs is 107 GT. Not very high.

Will I have to deal with females in army infantry? Will they be gross!

Ayy does anyone know what l could get pay wise for getting at least 2/2/2 or honestly probably closer to 3/3/3 on Arabic for national guard?

There is a list you can look up online, google FLIPL.

Sucks bro, but it makes sense since what if the one color you cant see is the color of the wire thats a critical component. Im 100% sure you can apply for all intel jobs. So not all of the jobs on your limited list will be shitty.

So I'm in dep and leave in September. Yesterday I just an anxiety attack and today I'm getting little minie ones. Idk what the fucks going on. Imm a pretty stressful guy and I also quit dip yesterday so I'm praying that that's what's causing it. I'm just freaking out cause I dont want to get kicked out for this5

What are some good jobs to defend the border from illegals? NG army? ICE? DHS?

Prolly quittin dip. Stop being a little bitch and go to the gym. You heard of grinds? It's coffee pouches that come in a tin log. I used em to quit nicotine and haven't gone back.

There are free copies of the Ranger Handbok pdfs online, are they worth reading if you are a ranger school hopeful?

milsci.ucsb.edu/sites/secure.lsit.ucsb.edu.mili.d7/files/sitefiles/resources/Ranger Handbook.pdf

Dude I'm trying but this shit caught me off guard so fast. One minute I'm stressing the next I feel like I'm about to have a heart attack. My chest got tight, I lost a lot of energy and the back of my head was on fire. Its stressing me out even more and I feel so different and weird today. Never experienced anything like this before

Do they drug test you when you go to MEPS to swear in

piss test iirc

Piss and blood test

Piss and blood.

If your recruiter has any sense he'll make you take a piss test at the office before sending you to MEPS

It'll get better dude. Seriously, give this a try >getgrinds.com/collections/flavors?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIp4fcvsXJ2wIVwiaGCh3PcAzXEAQYASABEgJ1YvD_BwE
itll chill you the fuck out. I know it sucks... chewing gum helps as well, but nothing will help you get over the cravings like exercising as hard as you can.. maybe drink a couple beers to help you fall asleep too lol. You'll make it.

I was thinking MEPS the night you ship out, but yea

Just stop smoking weed faggot

I'm not the guy that asked the question, faggot.

I'm just referring to when I swear in. I was told it was just height and weight they took.

Ah ok looked it up. Apparently it changes pretty often for which languages are critical but Modern Standard Arabic and most regional dialects seem to usually be important enough to receive pay. Thanks.

what's the difference in what goes in a secret and top secret clearance

why are you so stressed out?

Jow Forums has always been majorly Catholic, at least we're the only ones who actually give a shit about their religion. Just like /his/, this place is Catholic.

Literally DHS CBPO or CBPA

Nah, all you should try and find is one of those soldier manuals they issue in boot/basic. They are little guide books with pictures and simple explanations on how to do shit.

They each have different investigations. Secrets are NACLC investigations which are just national criminal check and credit report. SSBI investigations are for TS, and involve contacting references and checking to make sure youre not contacting foreign intelligence or terrorists.

Yes, so dont do drugs you idiot.

hey do they do drug tests at X
"yes"
oh fuck how do i not get caught?

not doing drugs is always off the table.

hay guise I scored 130 GT where do I go from here?

Pick something you like and qualify for

Life sucks, job sucks, no friends, lonely. Never really bothered me till now I guess.

okey
11b here I come

why NOT 03xx?

Just do it friend!! You'll never regret becoming a UNITED STATES MARINE INFANTREYMAN!!! :) It's the best job in the whole Marine Corps! You'll see tons of FUN COMBAT and do lots of EXCITING TRAINING with all the COOL GUYS in the MARINES!!! :D

quality answer thanks friend :)

Russian. Didn't take the actual test yet, but I aced the practice test on the dli site. Pushups and situps are good, just need to do some sprinting drills to get my run down. And I'm very single, so I'd like to do all the cool shit possible now before I'm tied down.

Stupid bitch.

Only thing infantry is good for is getting fucked like the little bitch you are.

t. salty POG

Whats it like being a veteran in college? Do chicks dig high and tights?

Failed my run like a professional DBA.

Been doing HIIT running for the past month. Thinking about doing one 5k a week and then moving on to two 5k's a week. Will that help my run time? I'm a big guy (4u) at 6'9" and 240. I want to get under a 12 1.5 mile run.

if you just run you'll get there. sucks to be tall af sometimes.

?
Being tall helps with running not hurt

it's harder on your joints though and for someone new to running that can be extra pain they struggle with.

>it's harder on your joints
no it isnt, youre addicted to memes if you think thats true

anyone here work or know of somebody who worked military intelligence?

whats life like under that MOS? Would I be eligible for a special operational forces group, or do they pick the best from infantry. I want to get a useful MOS but part of me wants to be a soldier as well

Attached: 1502419750116.png (277x301, 188K)

It's hard on your joints. I should know. Its hard to train on a treadmill because i can't open up my stride. Its hard to train on a track because of the high impact on my knees which have to bear the 200ish pounds. I do squats and leg presses to increase my leg strength but I have huge legs and a normal torso. I don't easily gain muscle even with a regular workout regimen and protein supplements.

Being tall does not always help with running. It can hurt. I'm 100% open to suggestions on what to do.

look up optimal running heights
or if you've been in the military look at the best runners you've seen, they're never exceptionally tall and tall people are usually in the middle or rear on a run. obvious exceptions to this but there's a trend.

Thats simply your case dude.
No. I can find just as many 5'10 people who cant fun 100 yards. You have confirmation bias. Look at the NBA friend they run just fine.

NBA and distance running are two very different disciplines. The muscle structures needed to do well at them are different.
While it is true that being tall can potentially give you longer strides it is untrue that being taller makes you immediately faster, as running speed is more of a product of training than it is is pre-existing factors like height.

>it is untrue that being taller makes you immediately faster
well its a good thing i didnt say that then

You implied one is better at running if they're taller. Which isn't true at all.

Tall people suck at running. We have longer strides which can help in short distance sprints, such as in the NBA. But distance running is dominated by manlets. We have too much stress on our joints to begin with.

>You implied one is better at running if they're taller
I 100% did not. Go re-read what i wrote. Show me where I implied that cause it doesn't exist.

...

That wasnt me friend. I said

well gee sorry for not magically realizing you were a different poster

Attached: 1471746514214.png (723x664, 287K)

Buddy i didnt know you were going to assume that.

How screwed am I for 35x mos if I'm a dual citizen?

Running is absolutely harder on your joints if you're taller. You have a lot more mass to hold up. Especially those with long legs.

This isnt how it works its relative. Its about proportions.

Right and tall people by and large aren't proportionate.

>Look at the NBA friend they run just fine.
look at soccer or marathon runners, who run further for longer and are shorter.
soccer players are almost all between 5ft 11 and 6ft
marathon runners are pretty much all manlets. but hey height doesn't matter.

Attached: 1520230655932.jpg (450x450, 16K)

Im not saying youre wrong but IF YOU ARE proportional than it isnt a problem.

>soccer players are almost all between 5ft 11 and 6ft
>marathon runners are pretty much all manlets
Thats cause almost everyone is that height shit head
And theres a massive difference between runing a fuckin marathon and running a measly 2 miles.

>Thats cause almost everyone is that height shit head
no it isn't. otherwise the same would be for basketball and every other sport, eh?
plus nba players infamously have knee problems, to the point where that's the most common injury for them all.
there's no point in this internet argument, the tallfags are going to feel it over time, ask any tall grunts how their knees are. meanwhile you can just pretend height isn't a variable worth taking into account for running, neither of us is gonna budge.
even a highschool kid knows this is true if they have any cross country or track experience.

>otherwise the same would be for basketball and every other sport, eh?
no?! Basketball player is directly linked to being an advantage. So tall players shine.
Buddy im not saying tall is the same as normal height im simply saying you cant use that as an excuse for not being able to run a measly 2 miles.

no one said it was an excuse, just that it sucks more working to it and overtime.
there's no excuse not to be able to run 2 miles for anyone except a cripple or asthmatic.

Yes, and yes. You should avoid them without being obvious about it. They will bitch if you approach and bitch if you avoid. Just be so mundane and boring that they forget you exist. Keep in mind they have a STD rate 3-5 times higher than the civilian population before you fall for a rare qt.

agreed

Well lets assume you pass the DLPT then when you take it.

BTW are you coming in as an E4, since its acasp?

For russian......best bet is to go group or 160th if you truly want to be utilized. Group is actually easier to get into than 160th IMO. Because technically all you need is airborne and be lucky when they have a spot open. 160th I think you gotta do some extra stuff but im probably wrong, its been too long, and I never directly worked with anyone who was in 160th in the intel field. Also, keep these two words in your mind throughout AIT and until you hit E5(assuming you start out as an E4) which should be at your 1.5 year mark, the program is called Great Skills. Youre not gonna find out much about it until you attend a seminar for it since they make you sign an NDA, but its some legit REAL WORLD work out in the FIELD, LIVING AMONG the target populace COLLECTING and RESEARCHING the local population. Key words there. Its only open to single personnel. Its not advertised much, and Ive only seen physical advertisement for it at DLI.

Me, im a 350F CW3 in the reserves, former active 35F/N E6.

Life is pretty same same as everybody else when active enlisted.

Yes you can work as sf support for group.

You can do and get both out of it. Its all up to you how your career turns out. Just ask the right questions and do what you need to do for your career.

If you got any specific questions, i dont mind answering.
