What's comfier to shoot, a 21" FAL with a full stock or an 18" Para FAL?

in terms of literal comfortability, 21" with a full stock.

Didn't realize the king was a KANG.

kommando store made replicas. I bought a pair but I got them too tight, and then I gained weight.
So theyre extra short and extra tight. I feel manly as fuck wearing them. If I can get them on.

Anyone else want an RFB? Or have one?

Attached: rfb poopshoot.jpg (640x480, 26K)

FN Fal master race.

A bullpup .308 seems really neat, but the only options on the market
>RFB
>MDR
both seem to have enough issues that I don't think I'd risk getting one

It's near the bottom of my wishlist. I'll have one someday.

I take it they've been sold out for a while

they are a few prototype Scar variant bullpups in the work. They may hit the civilian market in a few years.

Anyone ever tell you about the James River or Fulton M14s? Oh well. I'm glad you enjoy your purchase at any rate.

Yeah, limited run

is these FAL's G2G?

dsarms.com/c-828-rifles.aspx

Not necessarily a poorfag but I dont want to spend big bux on a gun rn

Yes, theyre fine

No. I was looking at the Springfield M1a socom or loaded. I honestly always wanted one but the one thing that turned me off was I was everyone kept telling how difficult it was to add accessories and maintince. Not that I nescerally mine that the problem is for the near future I'm limited in time and good work space. So I thought simplicity would be better, also with the Scar potentially being cancelled for civilians till the Saudi Contract is done I thought it was best to get it now. I still really want an m1a in the future though. Tell me the James River and Fulton.

Fulton Armory is pretty fucking expensive but they offer a pretty wide range of variants to choose from, some unique M1's as well if you're interested. Also my go-to source for replacement parts. James River makes basic as fuck M14s only. They even kept on the wooden upper handguard from the initial production run. However they offer a competitive price with Springfield and have forged receivers instead of cast ones. Oh and I forgot LRB arms as well. Pretty expensive and they don't so much build the rifles as slap together whatever parts they can get their hands on USGI or not. Those are the main M14 sources. Whoever was giving you the maintenance spiel was probably regurgitating issues that came from the M21 which had issues keeping sub MOA. It's really not that difficult to keep maintained otherwise. If you are really, really concerned about accuracy walk-out you can either get one that comes in sage stock or study up on putting it into one yourself. As for the difficulty of attachments? Guilty as charged. Basically any mod you want to make to the rifle is going to somewhat pricey and require some finesse to install.

In the end though don't buy into boomer memes about it being a sub-MOA murdermachine that would win wars all on its own. At the same time don't buy into soi memes about it being an unreliable 20 MOA boat anchor. It is what it is.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into fulton. It'll be a little while before I get one but thats just means I'll have more time to look into it. I torn between getting the classic wood for nostalgia purposes or doing some like said with the sage stock to keep it a bit more modern and versatile.

I have got my eyes on a g3 clone right now. It costs 2500 Euros, fires at 12mm-22mm radius at 100m. Factory new and comes with kit, magazines etc. Is that reasonable ? Wood furniture is 70 extra

Then get a M17S.

Is that an outpost armory tag I see?

indeed it is. First time I bought from them. Good people.

Dont even bother recommending good M14s on the internet outside of M14forum. Disliking the M14 is a meme and theres an insane amount of disinformation floating around along with resentment over the original light rifle trial fuckery.

Also dont forget about Bula or LRB builds. I prefer those to Fulton or JRA by a wide margin honestly.

Bump for interested what kinda groups this can get you.

I was trying to decide between this and the Austrian Hirtenberg surpluss . From my research its seems AM Lake City ammo is all new but made from casings rejected from goverment contracts due to cosmetic reasons or minor imperfections. The reviews are decent for the AM but everyone says the quality is definetly a bit to look out for. While the other hand the Hirtenberg may be a few cents more and made in the 70s I haven't seen a negetive comment yet. Great accuracy for the price has been noted too. I went the later and waiting on some cases to come now. I'll put up a review on /brg/ when I get the chance. Shouldnt be more than a week or two.

Oh and I forgot to mention the AM are reloadable why the Hirtenberg are not.

hey chums, I got a PTR91 here that I'm doing a furniture swap on. however as seen in the picture, I can not for the life of me get the green stock off the recoil assembly- even after unscrewing everything (as seen in the picture). for the past hour I've been taking a screw driver and rubber mallet to force it off but so far I've failed to. I'm trying to avoid purchasing a whole new recoil assembly for the sake of sentiment and expense. I don't really care for the green stock, but I don't want to completely destroy it either. any advice my friends?

Just picked up my first Battle Rifle yesterday. A Mas 49/56 in amazing condition.

Attached: IMG_20180623_194415.jpg (279x890, 179K)

nice work.

What do MAS 49s go for these days? I've been looking for a frog gun and I figure a MAS 499 would be a good pick.

Attached: baking with FAL.jpg (2971x1569, 984K)

People seem to be paying around 800 to 900. I was able to get the Seller down to 825. From some videos I watched before picking it up they were going for about 550 in 2015 and 2016, so they have be unfortunately keeping up with Milsurp inflation rates.

Attached: IMG_20180623_194623.jpg (980x735, 357K)

nice user, it is my favorite 308 rifle.
what scope will you get?

Where is the best place to find the FN FALs? Gunbroker?
Also are they still good quality or should I just go or an imbel or DSA?

What optic is that?

I haven't decided yet and /arg/ got mad at me for asking to much. Eventually Im going to get a Nightforce NX8 but i feel itll go to waste until my buddy or I (whichever one of us first) buys some property. Curently I only have access to 100 yard outdoor range 40 mins from my house and a few less then impressive indoor ranges. Now stuck deciding between getting an ACOG with an rmr or a Eotech HHS. Whenever I get the NX8 my plan is to throw the other optic on one of my ARs. I dont have much experience with scopes or optics so I'm trying to get it right.

looks like an ACOG 6x48

I have the eotech with the magnifier. I may go to acog because you don't have to re-sight it as much

I ain't got many. But I like em

If I'm looking at getting an FAL should I go for a parts kit or DSA? If I go for a parts kit what should I be looking for?

Attached: 20180623_234836.jpg (4032x1960, 3.03M)

If you're lazy or don't know much about FALs, I'd suggest getting a DSA. You're going to pay a bit more and probably wait as long as you would if you were looking for a parts kit gun (6-8 weeks was the lead time for getting a rifle when I ordered earlier this year), but you're going to get a good gun with solid customer service if anything goes wrong and good aftermarket support.

Is that an HK93 or are those 25 round 7.62x51mm G3 magazines?

I'm trying to pick up either a JRA BM-59, M14, or an SAI M1A. Anyone have anything to say about JRA BM-59s? The consensus around here seems to be JRA M14 > SAI M1A, but where does their BM-59 fit in build quality?

Bm59 is about as good as the M14. I also realize this wasn't what you asked, but I'd recommend you check out Fulton or LRB. JRA isn't the best quality right out of the box (which for more than a few people has been an understatement) and don't always have the best customer service either. I believe their warranty is fine it terms of what it covers and how long is fine so if youre willing to wait then it could be good, but otherwise look at some higher quality groups.

I get that, but I'm honestly not willing to put in two or three grand on a rifle right now. I guess the real question is, are JRA rifles decent enough out of the box to shoot and upgrade later, or is saving up for a nicer m14 a better idea?

My first recommendation would be to get other opinions, for example on the m14 forum. There are a few guys on there who are, in my opinion, apologists for JRA based off of how they've reacted to previous complaints by other people, but you'll find a good amount of other knowledgeable people there. The JRA is probably the best middle of the pack rifle you can get though and from what I understand the quality of parts is fine, it's just their assembly/QC that's a problem so you could probably get one of their rifles and then just get it fixed.

Okay but what if I'm interested and willing to learn?

What are the chances of Beretta releasing a civilian version of the ARX-200?

Attached: arx-200-collapsed.png (2000x959, 457K)

That's the real issue. The way I see it, it's still going to be cheaper to have a gunsmith go over and fix a mis-assembled JRA than buy a Fulton or LRB. But I'm assuming it doesn't cost the full cost of the rifle to unfuck it, so what do I know.

It probably wouldn't cost that much to fix, plus if you don't mind being very, very patient then you'd have a warranty which would theoretically fix it for the cost of shipping

It sounds like JRA's a good fit then.

>decent out of box
>can get fixed up on the cheap
>can slap on match parts as desired

thanks user.

Unfortunately I can't help you much there. I was lazy and just got a DSA because it was too hard for me to figure out what exactly to look for in a parts kit FAL. We really should make a guide.

From what I've gathered, here's what I can tell you
>there's metric FALs (Stg 58s and Imbels seem to be the most common) and inch-pattern L1A1s (Those fancy wood furniture FALs you see are the most common), the most important difference being they have unique magazines between them - a metric won't work in an inch-pattern gun and vice versa.
>Metrics seem to have better aftermarket support, probably because DSA is building with Stg 58 tooling
>take a look at who built the gun, research their reputation if you haven't heard of the company before. As always, be wary of Century - all the Century FALs I've really looked at felt like shit.
>keep an eye out for the normal things you'd do looking at a milsurp, as well as general build quality
>if you decide to build one yourself, remember that metric- and inch-pattern guns have different receivers

Take all this with a grain of salt, though. The real experts on this are apparently all on FALfiles, so unless someone here wants to call me a retard I'd suggest checking them out for better guidance.

Shot my big girl for the first time yesterday. Everyone made it seem like the recoil was going to be heavy but the thing felt lighter than my ak, lots of fun to shoot.
Trigger definitely makes it hard to be consistent but I guess the more I shoot it the better it will get. Considering getting a bill springfield trigger but I am concerned about it then becoming more dangerous due to the drop test.

Attached: 20180623_155005.jpg (1500x843, 374K)

Serious question: how come autists get buttmad whenever people call AK’s and AR’s “assault rifles”, but then you fags brazenly call your sporting rifles without select fire “battle rifles”?

Because full auto isn't a prerequisite to be a battle rifle?

Because select fire isn't a prerequisite to be a battle rifle, but is to be an assault rifle?

Attached: 365756.jpg (460x720, 67K)

Attached: JA FAL2.jpg (2984x5312, 2.25M)

Wait, did you unscrew the two screws inside the base plate to the butt stock? I'm guessing you did, but thought I'd ask since I still see it on there. If that doesn't work you'll probably just have to buy a new recoil assembly

TAPS is bae, confirmed.

Attached: IMG_0221.jpg (640x480, 149K)

what makes a gun a battle rifle? Is this a battle rifle?

Attached: ljungman1.jpg (4354x1148, 2.48M)

Inch pattern mags won't work in metric guns, but metric mags will work in both. They wobble a bit in inch guns but they are usable.

Uses a full power cartridge.
Has a removable magazine.
Is semiautomatic.

I dunno, I didn't make it and I won't bother to fix it. Why exactly are two ak's pictured? How exactly is a rainbow made? How exactly does a sun set? How exactly does the positrac rear end on a Plymouth work?! I dunno, it just does.

Guess I'll have be the change I want to see in the world. Got any suggestions to replace one of the AKs with?

Hmmmm. Maybe some other silly famous intermediate caliber weapon. You should remake it and have the Big 4 for each side.

I think I've got something in mind. It'll make me die a little inside but it's a classic.

Classic firearms has some reloadable hirt right now.
Only downside to hirt. Sometimes its boxer, others its berdan. Wish i got into this years back when crates were plentiful and cheap.

The amount of poor taste it took to even think that sticker was a good idea far outweighs any taste in firearms choice

Jesus this looks terrible no matter how I try to mod it, you might be right with a remake being in order.
