Favorite Lever Gat Mods

What do you Jow Forumsommandos like on em? For me a simple butt cuff, sling that are both leather and a tang sight are what get me really diamonds. To me simplicity makes the most on a lever action and really brings it out.

I like a sling, large loop and peep sight. Pretty much op's pic
If I may ask, anyone have any recommendations for a lever gun in .45 colt? Also how tough is it to add a larger loop? I want 45 colt because I want to have a rifle to match my pistols

>Sling
>Green fiber optic front sight
>Bullseye ghost ring rear sight
>lever wrap

Specific for my Rossi 92
>Safety plug
>Stainless steel mag tube follower
>Shorter magazine spring for loading gate

where do you get those nice leather shell holders

Does still make 92s?

Amazon actually has a nice selection. Some people on Etsy also craft em.

If you don't mind the whole loading tube. Henry makes a nice Big Boy steel for 45. . If you want a side loading gate Marlin has a Cowboy model in 45. Another suggestion is Taylor and Co's. Huntsman Carbine.

A JM stamped Marlin if you're looking for something rugged. Otherwise, an Uberti 1873 or similar gun

BOYS, GOOD NEWS: MARLIN ARE MANUFACTURING 357 MAG RIFLES AGAIN AND ARE FOR SALE FOR 700 DOLLARS. THANK THE FUCKING LORD.

> inb4 no link

LITERALLY SEARCH MARLIN 1894C IN GOOGLE, FOR SALE ON GUNBROKER.COM EVEN.

> inb4 new marlin

SAME SHIT, WHO CARES.

>same shit, who cares

Keep telling yourself that. Good luck playing Marlin Roulette

What are some good sling mounts that won't get me laughed at by purists?

Have a model 94 btw. it's an early 80s that I paid too much for ($450) so I'm probably already getting laughed at by purists.

Replace the tang with a good peep mounted in back of the hammer and that covers it for me, OP.

Their QC has improved over the last few years. I doubt it's anything of a gamble these days. Besides, where are you going to find an affordable American made lever action in 357 mag with a loading gate these days?

most reviews on bud guns and others say the new rifles are good

Adding a scout scope to my guide gun made this one hell of an awesome hunting rifle.

Its almost like over the last 150 years we have figured out that a levergun doesnt need much added too it.
Tang sights arent my thing though, thats for a sharps quigley model if i can ever afford one. I prefer a simple reciever mounted peep

No idea. I use a paracord sling for my Rossi 92 because I'm too lazy to get proper sling mounts installed.

What's wrong with your gat? Why are people making fun of it?

If I wanted to get a 357 levergat with a barrel >16 inches, what would y'all recommend and what do you reckon it'd run me?

Nothing, I'm just looking to add a sling and I'm not real sure about using Uncle Mike's mounts or something seen as blasphemous.

45-70

> 1 dollar per round

We're here to shoot guns, not pull them out during deer season

Well of course. But people always try and make the point to turn their gun into a fucking barbie doll.

Go to lee website
Order lee classic loader for 45/70
Order 1.0cc powder dipper
Buy 1lb of titegroup, and 1k primers
Buy mold/buy cast bullets because they are super cheap (405gr preferably)
1.0cc dipper of titegroup is just under 12gr gives me 1110fps, similar to the old trapdoor carbine load (55gr bp instead of 70).
gmdr.com/lever/lowveldata.htm
I cast my own bullets and make my own lube, i load 45/70 "plinkers" for .06 each. And a hunting load at 1455fps using 43 grains varget instead of titegroup for about 17 cents each.

With the Lee Classic Reloader, can you make reliable rounds that can feed from a lever gun? Been looking at getting one but a little not so much since it doesn't size the whole length.

I have had no issue with any of my 3030s or my 45/70, that being said you want to start with new brass or from ammo fired in your rifle.

Yes. Back in 17 they got their shit back up, were already sending out orders.

why is it on a bed of rice

for a durr gun: butt cuff, scope

for range fun: mare's leg, big loop

this is why:
>early 80s
Purists are going to laugh at anything that isn't pre-64.

I'd rather save a couple hundred more and get a Taylors(Uberti) or Winches- I mean Nipchester.

I'm picking this up Thursday. JM 1895 GBL
