It’s almost as if one of those costs is liability insurance.
It’s almost as if the insurance company has safety requirements that vary as to risk and cost , i.e. letting jerkoffs play quickdraw voids some or costs more money.
Employees need to be paid, and even if volunteers need to be insured. There is maintenance.

What does the gun club membership cost? I have a local range with a 1,300 yd rifle range and plenty of steel plates, so the compulsory NRA membership + $40/yr was worth it to me, compared to the public range nearby that was 300 yds.

Ill gladly pay the large annual fee if it means my range doesn't turn into that shit. Im 99% sure someone stole a box of ammo out of my pack while I was there too. Meanwhile at my usual range I accidentally left a target stand there and it was still there when I came back 2 weeks later.
