I like the 6-24, it is a nice scope.

I liked it better then the steiner and the PM2 shorty, at the same demo.

What would y'all suggest for an entry-level spotter scope?

i bought a vortex crossfire 2 and the crosshairs rotated in the scope

Extreamly happy with my Primary arms 1-8x. Taken it out to 600 yds no problems.

Everyone gets burned once buying vortex

Bushnell makes a few in the $600-1000 range.

Burris makes one for about $1000

Leopold in the $2000 range

Swarovski has one for $3000

Hendsolt has one for $3500-4000

You get what you pay for

I saw 3 vortex pst 2 scopes fail during a mid range class(600yds)

1. would only dial left. And never would dial right. Eventually went all the way over and would come back right. Had to get hit with a mallet to re center it.

1 reticle revolved with the magnification ring.

1. Would not track consistently for shit. Dial 1 mil up and it might be 1.2 or 1 or 1.8, it changed every time.

The vortex razor 2HDs had no problems and there were, maybe 5 of them there.

I have a Primary Arms 1-6x and like it a lot. I've always had a personal preference for irons but this one I find I like almost as much as irons

worth it?

Steiners are nice and clear, very bright scopes.

Nicer then the vortex in the same style. But not quite as nice as the nightforce.

With the front sight cowitness 1x is pretty comfy

I want a NF NX8 but I cant justify it with only access to a 100yrd range.

Anybody have experience buying used ACOGs on Amazon? $500 for a "like new" ACOG with RMR. That's a $1,500+ scope for $500.

I would be fine with some scratches seeing how they are supposed to be tough. Amazon has great return policies so I imagine I could get my money back if it turns out to be a counterfeit.

Still, I can't help but think this is too good to be true.

I've done returns with amazon in the past and amazon itself always steps in an refunds the money if the seller is being a dick. I imagine if I provided Amazon with an email from Trijicon customer support telling me this is not a genuine Trijicon product Amazon would give me my money back.

But I'm still afraid to buy. This seller has basically every model of ACOG for sale, all really cheap. Doesn't make sense. There would be no reason to sell them that cheap if they were legit.

regularly check eBay and gun broker. you'll find some decent deals.

Well he must have found an entire pallet of ACOGs because they have basicaly every model and multiple ones. That's what is fishy. If they only had a couple used ones I could believe they were just a reseller. But the fact they have 10+ of every type of ACOG "Used:like new" is weird.

I'll pass. But they almost made me bite.

Cam anyone recommend some decent cheap beginner scopes? Looking to stick one on 2 22lrs and a 30-06. What to look for? How to read the magnifications? Please help a newb.

What's your price range?

most common would be like a 3-9x40.
i will break down what that means tho.
first part is the magnification aka 3x mag to 9x mag adjustable and the 2nd part is the objective size in mm. aka how big the end of the scope is and how much light it takes in(bigger should be better but probably heaver )

for cheep scopes i would recomend a simmons i have one of these on my beater guns.
for an entry level quality scope Nikon is a good choice( what i have on my deer gun)
