What’s the best solution for a weapon light on an extremely short barrel pistol?

It seems like I need some sort of cantilever mount for anything if I want to have a place to put my hand, which would involve the light being subjected to muzzle blast.

So KAC quad rail vs Midwest industries quad rail. Both drop in models. I understand the clone value in the KAC but what else sets it apart? I have handled rifles with both and I like them both. Both seem to have absolutely no wobble or movement. KAC has heat sheilds while I've heard the Midwest has enough ventelation to negate the need anyway. Leaving your feelings about clone accuracy aside whats Jow Forums opinion

Anyone run a red dot and magnifier? It is alright or a COD meme?

Lots here will just recommend an LPVO like a 1-6 or 1-8
But there isnt anything necessarily wrong with a red dot and magnifier provided they're quality from a good brand.

They're not awful. using heavier ammo should close them considerably, I'd recomend occasionally putting some .77 grain stuff through it to see where your'e at but just practicing a whole bunch with the cheap shit.

Illuminated reticle with option for magnification is good.

It's a dot dude. It's not for meant for much longer ranges than like 200 yards.
If you're planning on farther then that then obviously the dot and magnifier isnt the right choice.

I guess thats kinda why they are as inexpensive as they are, cheaper heavier materials.

Like I said, for the money they are fine but there are better options out there.

good optics are worth the price even in this shit hole mistake of a country.

It depends on what the rifle is being used for. If its an SBR designed specifically for CQB like the MK18 then its a great option. Since you have an excellent close in optic, that can be stretched out to be used at greater distances with the magnifier.

If you are doing literally any other type of rifle then its a subpar choice. An ACOG/Elcan with a piggybacked red dot is a better option for an all rounder 14.5" build. And the variable low power optics are great for a longer ranged setup.

If you need a magnifier for 200 yards...

It's an 8" Ballistic Advantage barrel with a square shoulder. The Full Nelson is flat on the back, so it threads on about 4 turns and the two flats make contact. The taper doesn't get touched at all.

I fell for the Anderson meme. Got a used assembled rifle with an anderson lower.

I took it out shooting for the first time today. The lower functions fine technically but holy fuck is it hot garbage to manipulate. The safety is mushy as fuck, the mag release is stiff and unresponsive, and the trigger holy fuck is it awful. I shoot pretty much nothing but mil spec triggers so it's not like I'm expecting gizelle performance but it's extremely inconsistent. Sometimes it will feel like 4 pounds and other times it will feel like 8. The reset is barely noticeable, you don't feel it at all. Even the bolt catch is mushy. It is well broken in as well.

Should i bother with ordering a new parts kit from a better company, or should I just dump the whole thing and spend the 200 bucks (after FFL) on an assembled Aero precision lower? I'm hesitent to replace parts because i've heard stories of Anderson shit being out of spec, so if I spend money on new parts only for them to have the same results that would really suck. The rest of the rifle is great. I was getting 1MOA with irons when I wasn't struggling with the trigger.

Aero is definitely better than Anderson.

Here it is. Barrel seems pretty good although it's a heavy barrel and honestly I'd rather have a normal barrel. Like I said it was shooting 1MOA when I wasn't wrestling with the god awful trigger.

I think I'll buy the Aero complete lower to start with, slap the upper on there until I have enough for an FN barrel and a BCM upper and just build a much nicer version of what I have right now, then put the upper back on the shitty lower and sell it on armslist. The hard part is going to be finding another A2 upper.
