is that the dude that Ian was talking about in his video?

>eyes wide shut

Seals fucking HATE the scar too. Truly a shit gun

youtube.com/watch?v=5CCp5g4Zki8&t=

I mean when it came out all there was were M4s with quad rails. The weapon sure as fuck hasn't aged well though.

Makes me loose a bit of faith in humanity that FN can't keep up with the civilian demand. HELLO PEOPLE build an AR10.

>Makes me loose a bit of faith in humanity that FN can't keep up with the civilian demand. HELLO PEOPLE build an AR10.
>Makes me loose a bit of faith
>loose
go back to your shit non-english country fagit

I rather hang around here and loosen you up ;)

>Steel case
Fucking LOL

That faggot shills the fuck out of Glock. Why would he (((promote))) a company that doesn't give him $$$

>steel case .308
yikes

Straight off the FN site. How does it feel to grossly overpay SJWs?

>In the comment they point out they tried everything from steel to match grade and they still had issues
>Paying $3500 for a "go to war rifle" that can't even cycle steel

My PTR will cycle steel no problem. It will beat it up worse than you've ever seen a steel casing mangled but that's only if you can find it one county over.

>The SCAR is bad because its unreliable, bulky and heavy, I would rather have a SAW
Hurr durr *drools*
Perhaps there are criticisms to be made of the SCAR, but this video is too retarded to even attempt to be able to broach them.

Retard, SEALs have Mk 48s as SAWs, those things are well received

>Paying $3500 for a "go to war rifle" that can't even cycle steel
So? The Benelli M4 is ~2000 dollars, and you don't see it being put on a pedestal for it's ability to shoot target loads. Premium guns need premium ammo. If you find an AR-10 that cycles steel and costs a fraction of the price, good for you. But the SCAR has been tested by the finest Navy Seals on the discovery channel tv shows, where they're experiencing relationship falling outs because the show's about weapons, and the host is removed for raping little girls, but that's not the point, thanks for your cervix. PREMIUM GUN RIFLE IS HUNGRY FOR EXPENSIVE CARTRIDGE YEET. You just saw me shit up the Ivan with nigger nomenclature of expressions of fear, what's your fucking prognosis?

junk rifle.

If your gun doesn't eat steel and beg for more, it's a POS.

I've shot many thousands of rounds of everything from PPU to Hornady match under adverse conditions out of a scar-h and I've never experienced extreme fail to fire instances. I can think of two instances that were mag feed issues (proprietary mags are fucking dumb, I'll give scar haters that), a few light strikes, a few double feeds. Nothing crazy.

my $400 PSA AR eats steel, what shitty gun do you have?

to be fair M4's cycle a lot of target loads perfectly fine

PSA knows people are going to shoot cheap ammo in their cheap guns and they size the gas port accordingly. I would guess that FN probably keeps the same spec gas port tuned for military pressure ammo which means there's a chance it'll short stroke with cheap low pressure steel cased ammo. High end ARs are the same. KAC, Hodge, and the like tune their gas ports for military 5.56 pressures. Those guns might not run Tula very well but that doesn't mean they're bad guns.

You're talking to someone that thinks the shittiest ammo possible is a metric for 'reliabliity'.

God I love the SCAR, right up there with a M4 with a red-dot/suppressor for peak hollywood operator.

Eh, if it can run shitty undergassed inconsistent ammo it will run pretty much anything.

>his 3.5k USD scar can't cycle steel

lel

You sound like a retard yourself, desu. These people literally put their lives in the hands of these tools and are just giving you their thoughts. Why so assblasted about that?

This.

The M4's inertia operated action is incredibly reliable and ingenious.

The M4 is gas operated, the M2 is inertia driven.

Because hes bitching about traits true that are true of all battle rifles and marksmans rifles, but then saying he would rather have a SAW, which has all the same listed issues in spades. Clearly he was regularly in situations not suited to a .308 if he felt that a SAW would be generally more appropriate; yet apparently it never once occurred to to leave the SCAR at home. It would be like me saying M107s are shit because they're clumsy in close quarters; which would fucking stupid because of course its clumsy; its a nearly 5 ft long .50. Even children can grasp basic shit like that but this guy apparently struggled.

This is absolute art right here

Uhhh yes we do? It has a pretty ingenious design that let's it be a semiauto that cycles a massive variety of shotgun ammo.

Best semi .308 on the market, glad I picked it up for $2600 before the prices went sky high.

noguns crossboarder here

would the Mk 14 EBR have been a better gun for what the navy seal guy was using the SCAR-H for? surely a gun based on the age old m14 doesn't malfunction as much

>M14
>open receiver absolutely filled with dirt
>SCAR/any modern rifle
>closed receiver only open for a fraction of a second during cycling
The M14 was never a good rifle. Maybe in the 1940s.

Lot of salty poorfags in this thread, aren't there?

The M14 is heavy, difficult to maintain and shit.

You overpaid by over a grand. There is nothing in that rifle that makes it worth anywhere near $2500.

>>Paying $3500 for a "go to war rifle" that can't even cycle steel
Can you think of a nation that manufactures steel case 7.62 Long for military purposes?

this video was fucking terrible

The M14 is actually a piece of shit. Its the culmination of bureaucratic fuckery and ignorant officers who were too resistant to change. It was one of the last small arms to be truly developed by the military. The silver lining in the M14 being so bad was that we got the M16 out of it.
