if you meet f2f, your local police stations sometimes have an area in their parking lot just for private transactions.
personally, i like to go to gun store parking lots. they usually have security over looking the lot and no one freaks out over seeing a gun.
meet during the day and in a public place, be crystal clear over the terms, and be aware of your surroundings once you get there. bring a buddy if you can.
ive never had an issue but be aware that if youre buying a gun, your agreeing to meet at a specific place and time with X dollars in cash in your pocket. this might be too much of a temptation for some dude to rob you.

Craigslist; I normally do the meetings in back alleys as it avoids any cameras or attention that could make the buyer uncomfortable. Then I always show it to them loaded so they know what ammo it's chambered for and it will cycle. I only accept peso's and bits of string as the dollar is too traceable. Also I offer sexual services while they're inspecting the gun. I figure one stop shop for what the customers are looking for.

They don't normally have ID which makes sense why we shouldn't have Voter ID laws. These honest citizens are being too discriminated against by larger gun store retailers. So I feel like I'm providing value to an under served market.
