Last time I did it was 9 years ago, gotta renew actually, but it was easy as hell. Sent in a pic and the form and got it pretty promptly. No complex process

Pretty easy. Sent them a photo but they ended up using the one from my state ID for some reason. Took about twenty days. It's a stupid system, but it could be a lot worse in this state.

Honestly, for all the talk about having some of the strictest gun laws in the nation, it's not really a big deal.

You need a FOID to purchase a gun anywhere if you present an Illinois ID. I found a sweet K98 at a place in Nebraska a few years back, but I didn't have my FOID on me so I couldn't buy it.

You can’t, you still need a FOID card and some gunshops wont even deal with you if you’re from Illinois because of our shitty gun laws

Just fucking leave. Illinois is a shithole financially anyways. Once Rauner loses the state is going to be controlled 100% by Madigan again so taxes are going up and rather than use that money to actually fix the problems the state already has, they’ll just find new pet programs to spend it on and piss it away.

Took the max number of days to approve despite every subsequent background check being instantly approved. Other than that I just occasionally leave it at gun ranges
