>That guy who thinks he's """tactically prepared""" but can't run a mile or bench his bodyweight
What's your excuse?
That guy who thinks he's """tactically prepared""" but can't run a mile or bench his bodyweight
I genuinely can't imagine how unfit you'd have to be to not be able to run a mile.
I just like shooting, i'm not some LARPing retard
This
if you're overweight it's more of an issue of hurting your ankles than fitness
Projecting OP?
Flat Footed as fuck.
In my defense, I can run the same distance (about a half mile) with weight (60-70 lbs, haven’t tried more) as I can without it.
I have lifted my body weight but don’t encounter such things on a regular basis. I’ve let myself go as of late as far as pushups and sit-ups sadly. I once could ace army qualifications but I can’t even do 20 push-ups now...
i've always had difficulty benching my bodyweight, but a mile is no problem for me
A couple years ago I started hiking up my local hill. At first it was excruciating, but it was the best exercise IMO. Now I can fly up and down the mountain in laps.
It is interesting now, because occasionally I will hike with friends. But they come prepared with trail mix and all that shit but I just come with a bottle of water. They go so slow, and they take too many breaks. They don't push themselves, they just think climbing a mountain should be done slowly in pieces. When I was pushing myself I would be moving forward while gasping like a egyptian slave.
/aimless story
>fat as fuck
>can only pop a mile in 12
>can only squat 405
>can only bench 235
>can only do 35 situps without rest
>can only do 12 pullups
Life is fucking suffering when you're fat lads, dont ever ever fucking let yourself get that way. 288 6foot here, send fucking help.
Whats it like knowing that fat niggers and whiteoids get laid and have families while you cant?
wtf those are good numbers though
6'1 265. women haven't seen my peepee in 4 years. Took up cycling for work commute but drink too much beer for it to be effective weight loss. Send help too plz
/humblebrag/
>The guy who rips on other other modern semi auto intermediate caliber rifles for being more expensive, but overspends on accessories and having multiple of the same damn gun with minute differences, rather than buying one and shooting.
rip
That dude looks like a decent pillbox just get him some concealment
But I'm not tactically prepared....
I'm an old fart, my body is busted-up, but not by pansy exercises. I'm half crippled but if any asshole wants some of me they got to bring the the pain cause I'm as good a shot as anyone here and better than 99%. I got nothing to lose, are you willing to die trying to take an old man down?
I might have put a few pounds on since 'nam but I've killed men, women, and children. You might get a couple likes on Facebook with this post, but when push comes to shove, I'll kill you JUST as dead as the rest of em.
Hehe fatty
I have the perfect place for that, its an old ass trail that goes to an old ass fire tower. I'll start doing that erry day, I've been meaning to do some fat ass mitigation for a while.
This. Some young fat people get right into running and fuck up their joints.
Basically you need to reduce your food intake but not starve diet yourself. Swim* and hike/power walk until you drop a few pounds and then get into light jogging until you can loose ten or more pounds, then start light runs with good shoes.
*when I say swim, I mean swim 12 laps for each stroke as fast as you can to get your heart and lungs worked up, not playing around in the pool!
Because being a sentry is a thing
Of course being Jow Forums would make you a better war fighter but an attacker wouldn't be able to notice a difference if they were assaulting ones home
Keep it up.
I can drop 10 pounds a month by letting go of anger sugary drink.
You have a good point OP.
Heck, I have to pass yearly physicals now to keep my CDL.
I am like the other 6' 280 pounder.
I can hike 4 miles no problem.
Sit ups, nah, interstitial fat gets me.
Leg lifts are good.
City P&P lift gate delivery driver.
Heavy pallets.
Probably got you on the Bench and squats.
When I drop down to 240, I look like a beast.
Still need to work cardio.
I do miss watching my wife give slow blow jobs.
She won't let me video.
All I see is the top of her head now.
>that guy who rips on people for not being able to bench their bodyweight or run a mile
>that guy who also owns not a single gun
I work nights and have bad legs (one foot longer than the other) so I'm orobe to hurting myself during training. It's not hard to run a mile when you keep it up. But if you're just simply not done by cardio then running a mile is very hard from a cardio perspective not a strength one
>that guy who keeps making this thread three times a week
I've never been able to run a mile. Most of my body weight is in my legs and my joints take a beating when I run long distance. I'm a sprinter, not a marathon runner. Either way, you're a fag.
I ran a marathon two years ago but I'm not as in shape as I used to be. Still a skele though, just did a 4 day backpacking trip a few weeks ago which was fun.
LMFAO So you consider a mile a "Long distance"?
>mile
>long distance
Even fat or old people can run 5ks dude. Jesus Christ.
tell me this is pasta
He's just 1/1024th tactically prepared.
Thats such bullshit. 60-70 pounds is a lot of weight that people take on rucks/hikes in the military. If you can't run a mile, there's no way you're running half a mile with that much weight.
your a pasta
No one is afraid of some fatass old dude with no military exp. Congrats you bought a gun, you're not intimidating cause you went to a store bud. Buying a katana won't make you a samurai either.
The responses just show the embarrassing state of this place. Reminder that 70% + of k and Jow Forums in general is out of shape, fat, never served, didn't go to college. And these are the people giving you "advice" on firearms. The other 30% keeps this place alive.
5’ 10”, 225. Is that bad?
It's really not good unless you look like Mark Kerr. Even then you should lay off the juice
Or prime TRT-tor
>Congrats you bought a gun, you're not intimidating cause you went to a store bud
My three gun and sports shooting says different
I'm the other way around, even when I was reasonably fit, I was never able to run a full mile. I can pretty easily bench my bodyweight though.
even with TRT he's got chicken legs. Sad!
>mfw we're almost the same weight (i'm 10lb lighter)
>mfw i do the same # of situps but can't do one proper pullup
>mfw i used to be a hundred pounds lighter and could run 2 miles in 13 minutes
feels bad man. you're doing pretty good though, work on your cardio friend. your heart loves you, love it back.
and thats why you should all watch your smirky mouths
you never know what that old fat guys got on him or if he is pissed off
old fudd here:
everyone i know who was into sports in their younger days all ended up with hip replacements and or knee replacements and heart attacks
they nerdy guys, the ones who didnt follow the sport culture and all healthy tall and strong..
yeh, true. gotta eat big to get big. eating is probably the hardest habit to break. it's been hell on my joints.
fuckin nerds eating fruit and oats like birds of course they're gonna be weak but they also don't weigh anything. much easier to do cardio or even just be active.
I can run just fine even though I'm not as fast as I used to be and I don't even warm up with my body weight on bench.
I can run and bench more than my body weight but I can't do pullups for shit. I can do like two good ones and then I start falling apart.
Lyme disease induced arthritis... Shit is a real bitch. Knees are fucked, back is heading that way...
How the fuck can you do 12 pullups?
Use a mirror.
He cant. It's a complete bullshit post.
mile and pushups are trash but the rest is ok
I could believe it if it weren't for the pullups.
I can do about that number. If you lift, I believe its mostly through lat pulldowns with a cable machine. I'm 150, and do 158 for 6 on it (behind head), or 144 for 10, and it made me insanely good at pull ups because its working the exact same muscles. I never do actual pull ups for exercise.
Yeah but that dude weighs 280 lbs. I know people who can do 25+ but they sure as shit don't weigh 280.
Oh shit I didn't see his weight, thanks for the correction. Yeah I call bullshit. The pull ups is definitely the red flag. Or maybe he is just doing the same exercise I described with ludicrous heavy weight and it made him good at pullups? His squat numbers are alright enough for me to believe he has a good back.
lives and fries doesn't rhyme
No
>three gun is in any way related to gunfighting.
wew
>he thinks you need roids to be big
I'm sorry you have shitty genetics
>Getting back in shape
>Run an 8:40 mile
I'm gonna make it bros
Honestly, an overweight dude that LARPs as an operator is probably going to be able to win a three on one fight with the average street dindus, granted he actually shoots to improve his shooting skill and studies/practices maneuvering.
However, you could increase that number to five if they would just exercise. Agility is a massive benefit, plus being fit makes you a smaller target.
Good luck son. Try running 2 miles, then 3 and so on -- it really helps the 1 mile time
if you really want to increase mile time do interval sprints
Your lifts are damn impressive, you just need to start cutting. Do cardio, avoid refined sugar.
>he thinks hes tactically prepared but all he knows how to do is shoot and stay in shape
>What's your excuse?
I don't exercise much. I mean, I can run a mile, but I'll be tired afterwards. I definitely can't bench my bodyweight though.
>quit spending money on a hobby in ways I don’t like
No they really aren’t despite the fact that he’s trying to humble brag. Squatting 1.4 times your body weight and benching .8 times your body weight isn’t even decent
Calling bullshit on those pull-ups. I'm 200 lbs and in pretty good shape and the most consecutive pull-ups I can do is 16.
When was the last time you actually ran one? You would be surprised how many healthy weight people are in terrible cardiovascular shape. They can complete a mile, but not within a time frame indicative of fitness.
Royal Navy pre-bleep test PFA, 9 minute mile and a half, 77 press-ups, 77 sit-ups.
5’5” 160 lbs
I’ll do as many push-ups, pull ups, and sit-ups as you want, but getting under an 8min mile is hell for me. I have no problems rucking 100+lbs all day though.
>bench press
>being useful for anything
Literally the definitive ego lift
I like how most people don't work out because it makes me feel good when I'm better than others. Honestly, I don't care if you fatties stay fat. It just makes it easier for me when the time comes.
If you can run a mile, but can't lift anything, you're only good at running away. If you can lift, but not run a mile, your strength is useless in the practical sense.
A soldier must be able to run and lift in equal measure.
>pushes you so hard you go flying.
Only if you fall on your back and I magically land at right angles across your chest.
Same. 12 pull ups is decent. I have been training them for months and can only do 12. I bet dollars for donuts he's cheating his reps.
Pushing can be done while standing, lying face down, or face up. Pushing things is an important ability for soldiers.
This. Squat, OHP, and Deadlift are much better indicators of strength.
Shit opinion. I can guarantee 99% of guys that fought in WW2 never lifted weights in their life, they were just athletic because of their lifestyle.
You will never have to run for a mile and expend 600 rounds.
Being "tactically prepared" is just autism.
And bench press has literally zero carry over to that, unless of course you’re standing back to a wall and something/someone falls on you.
Legs > back > core > shoulders > chest
190lbs
>Can run a mile and a half in roughly 11 minutes, best time was 10:30
>Can do 25 pushups in 1 minute
>Can do 20 situps in 1 minute
I'm 21 and this is my current peak physical fitness.
WW2 soldiers were trained to march and do push ups. British soldiers had this thing where they held their rifles above their heads and ran up and down hills. So they did lift.
You are not a solider you autistic fuck.
Being buff will only help you out in silly barfights and even then a guy with a knife will win 9/10 times.
The body is a chain and all components are needed to do real lifts. Pushing requires lots of chest.
>9/10 times
True, though he's a fuckin pussy if he pulls a knife
Soldiers don't just fight. You ever had to push a car? Sometimes you do.
>tactical stillborn
never loses edge
>True, though he's a fuckin pussy if he pulls a knife
That's what a basedboy would say.
Disarming yourself never works in your favor
That is not what the majority of people would consider lifting i.e. targeting specific muscle groups using specific exercises. Doing body weight exercise is no more "lifting" than standing up to get out of a chair is.
gey
>pushing a car like you would bench
As per above, when you push something in the real world you lock your arms, tighten your core and drive with your legs. Bench press is useful only to powerlifters.
Workout 6 days a week, shoot 2/3 times a month, usually hustling around for at least 8 hours a day before the gym.
Yeah I get you, I carry a small folder for menial shit, and i've lost my fair share of fights with it on me. I will NEVER pull a knife unless he pulls one first, and that's usually enough to make them back off or so i've heard
