I'd say there's a 99.999% chance its referencing something that actually happened. Dont bother with any of that hog bait powder or syrup, just regular old corn feed is fine, spend the $ on straight feed and the hogs will smell it well enough.

If you're spotlighting, use a green spotlight and if possible bring the light level up slowly. If you have a straight on off switch, turn the light on pointed at the sky and bring it down onto the hogs, dont spotlight directly.

Head and neck shots have worked best for me.

Often, younger smaller pigs will get on the bait first and the fat bigass old ones will wait in the brush for awhile. So dont shoot the first pigs you see, give it a minute and see if any bigger ones come out after they think it's clear.

7.62x39 works well with good ammo, the SG 8M3 worked pretty well for me but not as good as the Hornady SST.
.308 works even better and that's what I'd recommend especially on the big pigs

Head shots work best.
5.56 FMJ is perfectly adequate.
Using a bolt gun makes you a fudd.
Lead runners by aiming at the tip of their nose.
Don't eat them if over 200lb.
Carry a reload and a big bore sidearm if stalking.

Oh and after you hit them, they'll kick and thrash around a little even on anything but a perfect brain-removal headshot. But keep your sights on the the pig for a follow up shot until it stops thrashing, because they often can get back up and tracking a wounded pig in the brush just sucks.

Agreed on all but the 5.56 FMJ. That works fine on smaller pigs with good shot placement but 150+lbs you need a really good shot on the skull or spinal column to reliably incapacitate them with 5.56 FMJ.
No such thing as too much gun when blasting pigs. I shot one with my Mosin once just for giggles.
