Bruin or Witness Hunter...but G40 best value.
Glock 17L's Slide length is 8.85 in. and the Mark 23 is 9.65 in. I'm looking for something at least 8 inches long . bonus points if it is a metal frame and 9mm.
like i said, no striker fire. And something under 1,000. Also it doesnt have to be stock long, if theres a slide replacement thats 8 inches thatd be cool too.
Yeah but:
The G17L looks like ass, get a G34
OP, if you want hammer and metal, you are pretty much stuck with Sig, Tanfoglio and 1911s
>not striker
>long slide
>under 1000
ok sure
CZ75 Tactical Sports.
Can find then under $1k new sometimes.
17L is actually longer.
cz-usa.com
I enjoy mine.
Be sure to properly adjust the trigger pre travel and over travel once you get it.
2mm hex key is all you need.
youtube.com
Well son for under 1000 you're s.o.l. with NIB longslides pretty much. Hit up armslist and cross your fingers.
6" metal frame pistols that come to mind:
Tanfoglio Gold Match / "EAA Witness Hunter"
1911's, although those tend to be expensive
Sig X-Six and P210 Super Target, both waaaaay out of your budget
In that picture I posted, the trigger has NOT had the pre travel properly adjusted.
It is very close to a Mouse click now.
shit that actually looks breddy gud
what sigs have a long slide thats not striker fire? i can buy something thats not a metal frame as long as its traditional SA/DA
Here's something
the two main things i need it to have is a long slide and 9mm, so no 45 or 40s
What length of barrel are you looking for, nobody advertises by the length of the slide
most of these have usually a 6 inch barrel, so around that yeah. my main plan is to get a threaded barrel as well because that little bit of barrel sticking out the slide gets me diamonds.
One on GB listed at $1099
Call em.
You will probably end up replacing the grips, front sight to fiber, maybe rear to adjustable, perhaps mag well.
It really doesn't need a race Hammer but that is another $80 or so.
Watch that video I listed.
CZ Custom and Cajun Gunworks are the usual parts sources but add CZ-USA online and Armory Craft
Tactical sports Orange has all the extra goodies already.
CzechMate is the top dog open class gun that has an extra slide so it can be converted to a Limited Class gun in either 9mm or 40 cal.
gunbroker.com
do they make any threaded barrels?
Here is the CZ custom barrels page.
czcustom.com
A complete upper is less than $700.
If I had a 75B Matte Stainless, I would drop that on it after changing out the sear to a non firing pin block sear.
Then you get the narrower frame and cheaper magazines but the longer slide in black with the adjustable sights already installed.
The have a 6" barrel blank that can be shortened but I thin it would still be too short for a threaded long slide.
Bar-Sto could probably make one.
Looking at close to $400 for a custom barrel from them though.
CZ Custom barrel is usually less than $300.
Prices are obviously more than parts for a Glock.
If your unable to find something in that narrow window of a sub $1000, metal frame, longslide 9mm, you could always add a compensator to a full sized frame to give you the long slide aesthetics and will open up your options drastically.
any good places to buy compensators? and would i need a gunsmith to install one?
Sig 210 are amazing in the long slide configurations.
Amazing prices too.
One guy here in Metro Atlanta was selling off his collection a couple of months ago.
Had a NIB 210 heavy 6 inch was asking $25k
Here is a typical heavy 5 picture I found online.
im looking for a stainless steel pistol with a long slide with an 80s feel but i want something modular. most old s&w's i can barely find parts for, so thats why im looking for something else.
Depends on the pistol, but most compensators are attached to a threaded barrel, which for common pistols are easy to find. The one pictured is made for that beretta and is attached to the frame, not the barrel. Either way you dont need a gunsmith to install it
Witness
I really like my 17L, very accurate shooter
You can get a vanek custom adjustable trigger housing and get all the slack out of your trigger
It disables the trigger safety but you don't buy longslides for CC anyways
I have dawson adjustable sights & Maxwell / apex trigger shoe / olight Valkyrie / agency comp on a sico threaded barrel
If you already have a threaded barrel, say a CZ75 SP-01 Tactical suppressor ready, you can find one to thread on.
You would then need a crush washer to get it timed properly and look straight like an AR flash hider or comp. It would have a gap though unlike a custom comp.
Have a look at this thread over at Brian Enos forums.
Atlas builds his own Open class guns based on CZ frames.

Check out the entire site.
You will find an answer there.
Based on your criteria I still think adding a compensator is the best route, theres just not many options available especially at that price point. Besides looks, its gonna feel better to shoot and if you get one that attaches via a threaded barrel it will still be modular
The only thing i dont like about glocks are the safetys, im not a pussy but i just like how old s&w police models have a lot of safetys and decockers.
Here is one of the better builds based on a standard SP-01 for around $650 for the base gun.
HK USP expert or elite 45
How are aftermarket parts for the hk usp expert 9mm? Need a threaded barrel
You're slipping Jow Forums.
beat me to it.
AMT made some pretty gorgeous long slide pistols.
Smith and Wesson 5906 "Super 9"
A Tokarev with muzzle brake bushing (and maybe some nice wood grips) would be a pretty nice option, too.
L O N G B O I
why don't you want a long slide revolver?
I know that OP said "no revolvers", but I for one really want to get one of those cheap Heritage Arms revolvers with a 9" barrel.
>long slide revolver
>slide
>revolver
Did you actually think about that when you wrote it?
This
Mateba Autorevolver
Webley-Fosbury
Landstad Automatic Revolver
Remind me which one of these has a long slide again
Really don't have any options for you bud, the only choice that even fits your requirements is a 6-8" revolver. If you want the best semi auto pistols, especially long slide, you gotta go with a striker fired pistol. Just the way it is.
HK P30L is the correct answer
GOD- never buy an AMT.
did smith make any long-bois back when they made their steel framed guns?
gross
They did but they're somehwat rare and pricey
At least post the long boi model.
just buy the g17L
Not him but you can get long slide matebas and webleys
If you got extraordinarily lucky you might find a used HK USP Expert or Elite for $1000. I looked at an Expert at a gun store, it was really fucking nice, good trigger too, definitely better than a stock USP trigger.
yeah but they dont make expert threaded barrels
Waiting on a video to upload of some back yard redneck fun last afternoon with the Tactical Sport. Me and they neighbors were blasting through 200 rounds of 9mm and a brick of 22LR. The TS is an amazingly easy gun to shoot. Dusty tries it for the first time and goes 90% on 8" steel at ten yards like it was nothing. Dusk and poor lighting with a black front sight post to boot.
Even in threads specifically requesting good guns, Slavshit always rears its ugly head
OP how small is your pee pee?
look, I don't always get pee on my balls man.
a nice longslide in an IWB holster will get me rock hard every time I see it so I won't pee on my balls anymore
can we please move on now?
i sitll like my compact pistols like my S&W 6906 and 696 i just wanna make ameme gun
>P210
>NIB
who the fuck in their right mind owns a P210 like that and doesn't shoot the thing every once in a while?
fucking boomers, I swear.
G40 is best daddy longdick
op asked for da/sa
OP's criteria are ridiculous. He wants a DA/SA hammer fired SS long slide pistol for under 1 grand. Shit quite simply isn't going to happen.
This is simply a long boi thread, now. Deal w/ it.
What's your budget? I picked up a USP Expert recently for about 1k.
>thinks 1911s are striker-fired
Are you stupid? If you're looking for ways to disqualify it, see where he says he doesn't want it anything in a man's cartridge.
At a certain point, OP is just a picky faggot, and we're gonna recommend whatever guns we like no matter what he says he wants, so deal.
He didn't imply that. 1911's are SAO, though, so they don't meet OP's stupid requirements.
Yeah, I know.
I will not have a safe queen.
Beautiful day in Georgia and we got 2 deer rifles sighted in , pulled out my CZ 452 Varmint in the GayPride stock. Shot some more pistols. Let loose offhand with my M39 and K31.
Another 30 minutes and I can post the video with my CZ Tac Sports from last evening just before dusk.
OP may want to see that.
Gay Pride 452 Varmint.
But he doesn't want DA specifically, everything OP said indicates he just wants hammer-fired of whatever sort.
>don't want a striker fired pistol
>no striker fire
>long slide thats not striker fire? i can buy something thats not a metal frame as long as its traditional SA/DA
>not striker fire
Clearly "SA/DA" means
>either SA or DA
rather than
>SA the first shot and DA all subsequent shots
because that would be stupid.
>But he doesn't want DA specifically, everything OP said indicates he just wants hammer-fired of whatever sort.
Wait, just so we're on the same page, you're not alluding that DA/SA or SAO and mutually exclusive with striker fired designs, are you?
>>Here you go. Start at 8:50 for me.
Buddy shoots it for the first time at 3:15
Octoberfest Redneck Gun Fun
not all AMT's are equal
1911's are fine as long as 9mm.
expert blows, barely any aftermarket parts. no threaded barrels either which i s a must for me
poor dogger, good shootin tho
They're not, but are (unfortunately) very often treated as mutually exclusive, and I think it's pretty clear OP is treating them that way.
And here we have it from OP himself (I assume):
Which is funny, because Glock's "safe action" trigger is functionally a SAO.
safe-action is DAO
the pull has to fully charge the striker before release.
pre-charged strikers are true SAO firearms. the trigger only has to release the striker and disengage the striker safety block.
Pull the trigger on a snap cap and try to re-strike the primer.
Protip: You can't because it is, FUNCTIONALLY, a SAO.
Thanks.
If we can't go 10 for 10 on an 8 inch plate at ten yards fairly rapidly, we feel let down.
For our test, modified Vickers Test, we hang the 5 " plate and go from a low ready or draw in ten seconds.
No partial points for hitting paper.
I need to get a decent split timer next.
Cell phone App really blows.
That new Stainless P-01 of mine is going to take some getting used to.
that's because the striker is disconnected from the sear engagement until the slide comes back only part of the way. if you move the slide enough to reengage the trigger, then it operates again. it's not a SAO, because the trigger still completes two actions before the gun can fire, regardless of the striker becoming unable to operate a second time after release.
it is, FUNCTIONALLY, a DAO
I love my G34 honestly I never wanted to own a long slide but I picked it up from a buddy when he lost his job. Also 33rd factory mags make this thing the king!
I know you don’t want striker fired pistol recommendations but for the money you really should check this model out
The only way he gets into a long slide for less than $700 for sure.
It can run with the big dogs with some trigger work and sights.
If you are going with a red dot, the long sight radius isn't necessary.
Steel Challenge, lighter weight can be a plus since you don't double tap and need fast transitions.
im just getting the glock 17L honestly, id get the cz but noones selling one locally.
Enjoy it.
Good gun.
If you ever stumble across a deal on a Tactical Sports Or TSO , you will enjoy them too.
So easy to shoot as the guy in my video found out today.
Shoot Straight, be safe.
Tom
ACTUALLY they make custom threaded barrels for it. Jewgle it
Yeah im gonna take off the black coating and mirror polish the slide, and get either the polymer 80 or aluminum 80 lower for it with a stainless steel threaded barrel.
Im literally looking right now for 9mm and theres nothing. And btw which slide is longer, the expert or the elite?
>aluminum 80 lower
wat? is there an aluminum 80% glock frame now?
For preorder
Come on, give me a link, or at least a name. My google-u is failing me.
*google-fu
maybe it's failing because I'm too tired to type straight...
Walther PPQ Q5.
What you're searching for, ain't obtainable. No striker fire, long slide under $1000.
Just do the right thing, and buy the Walther.
>THIS ITEM MUST BE SHIPPED TO A CURRENT FFL TO BE TRANSFERRED.
not 80% then.
>stonemountainarsenal.com
OK Thanks.
That is right here in Metro ATL
