Worth It?

I am stuck between the Miltec NVA and an M65 either from Rothco or Alpha.

Any k/ommando wanna help my ass out on whats worth it and whats BS? I need a quality jacket for the midwest winter and it needs to be durable.

I just scored a original off ebay for $57 bucks, like minutes ago.

I have an original OD M65 that I scored at a flea market for a good price. I'm very happy with it for what I paid but it is not the warmest nor the highest quality jacket. It definitely feels like it's made by the lowest bidder. I wouldn't pay the kind of insane prices that people ask for the repros since they're neither cheap, original nor much better quality.
This user has the right idea. You can get surplus jackets from foreign countries that nobody cares about for nothing. Even if they don't size right or you have to buy a few different ones to find one that's in good shape/warm enough they're so cheap that you're still spending less and you have spares you can give to people as gifts.

get a bechatka they're really comfy

I just got a Helikon Tex M65 from Amazon for $95 and it's really nice. I have an Alpha that I don't like and an old Tru Spec that is falling apart. The Alpha has okay stitching but is sold separately from the liner. The Tru Spec came with the liner but the stitching is rougher. Also, the hook and loop fasteners and the snap buttons on the Alpha suck and come apart when new.
The Helikon is much better than both and comes with the liner. The Tru Spec is solid too, but at $100 doesn't compete with the Helikon.

Thanks for the rundown, I wateched a few reviews and these guys kept spouting off about the "quality" and I kinda figured it was BS. I will be hiking/hunting in it so it should be good with just a liner unless we get a bad coldwave.
Not gonna lie I have no idea what this is but I am checking them out now, I know my firearms and munitions but I was always just a jeans guy until my hunting buddies pushed me to check out some surplus stuff since its cheap and durable. That and they ket saying I looked like some 12 year old in NorthFace haha.

bechatkas are basically those czech jackets but polish
theyre obviously less expensive because of the fact more of them were produced because more people = bigger amy = more equipment
that and they have a very nice looking brown fake fur that is really warm

Komando store has a goretex austrian m65 for.less than a rothco or milltek

I am gonna have to measure myself as I am 6'6 and most jackets are a pain to find sizing for, I usually wear an xlt but grab 2xlt for jackets so I have nigh the foggiest what that is in EU military metrics.
