I did actually I was lucky my father was there and he picked two up and he gave me the choice between the wood or folding stock, so I made the smart choice got the folding stock for asking price

Been waiting for someone to make a thread about this. I picked up one of the folders, 1972 came like new with a strap. Does anyone know a safe way to remove the bayo lug without stripping/marring the screws? I’m afraid to put a torch to it in fear of damaging the bluing.

Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore. They randomly get surplus police stuff in, it usually doesn't go out of stock this quick.
??? I can't take the barrel,bolt, or magazine tube off for cleaning until the bayo lug is removed. It is definitely staying on there afterwards.

I don't know of any. Its a miracle I even found this deal. My power had just come back on after Hurricane Micheal. One of the pines in my yard crushed my dog during the storm and I was looking for a new toy to get my mind off it. Just happened to stumble across this 870.

I decided to get one after they sold out. I wish I had now.

The odd thing is, the folding stocks sell from $125 to as much as $250 in real nice shape.
The military barrel clamp and bayonet lug combo has sold for as much as $400 in the passed. Now about 1500 of them became available. I expect the price might come down.

Proper hollow ground bits should let you take out the screws without messing them up.

Yeet. Picked mine up the other day. Its reciever is scratched to hell.. definitely got some use. The rest of the gun is in good shape though, save for some surface rust on the inside.

The barrel nut was frozen shut, which seems to be an issue.. too 45 minutes of trying to finally get it to budge.

I had to use a power drill to remove mine.. messed up the screws a tiny bit, but there was no other way.

The sale started at around 12:15pm CST. They sold out of folders by 2pm and sold out of fixed stock guns around 5-5:30pm.

They were out of stock for a frw hours during the day because a neckbeard tried to order 400 fixed stock guns and they later canceled his order and relisted them.

Shit, I may have tried to order during that time and found it was oos. What an asshole.

Wasn't a neckbeard. He was putting in numbers to check how many were in stock (put in 500, says can't add to cart. Put in 400 and it lets you, you know they have at least 400 left) and then decided to purchase a gun and didn't remember he added 400 to his cart before he checked out.

I agree. I just sold my 870P that I've had for 20 years. Heavy, slow, awkward. Pretty glad to have the extra space in the safe for more useful things.
