This is actually a good question if you want to determine the nature of a man.

Specifically, ask them if they prefer the hunchback or the centurion. Low-IQ savages and potatoes will almost always pick the hunchback. Refined gentlemen with more refined features (slender, aristocratic bodies, long fingers, etc) will universally select the centurion.

People who will never amount to anything will generally have a strong preference for clan mechs, while people who get things done prefer the Inner Sphere models.

I could impart more knowledge about this interesting use of battletech preferences, but I suspect that it would be wasted on hunchback loving Jow Forumstards.

Anything that spews missiles all over the place. Preferably an Archer.

Call of Duty quietly copied Titanfall and Titanfall 2's core concepts, but claiming Titanfall 2 didn't murder what universe existed Titanfall 1 with over the top cosmetics, cinematic kills, and unrealistic weapons.

I get that it was all in a bid to revive the series, and in brought in many new fans, but the core audience had been dead for a while. No one who regularly plays Titanfall 2 played the first game much if at all and I can guarantee that. They are in no way similar sans the name and some rudimentary aesthetics.

Like I said, unfortunate this happened, even if it was completely understandable.

>Call of Duty quietly copied Titanfall and Titanfall 2's core concepts, but claiming Titanfall 2 didn't murder what universe existed Titanfall 1 with over the top cosmetics, cinematic kills, and unrealistic weapons.

I meant to say that Call of Duty quietly copied Titanfall and Titanfall 2's core concepts, but claiming Titanfall 2 didn't murder what universe existed in Titanfall 1 with over the top cosmetics, cinematic kills, and unrealistic weapons is dishonest at best.

Every titan has their own version really, except Ronin. Only faggots use Ronin.

The game is in one of it's finest comebacks in years. Nice box sets, plastic minatures are pretty prevelant with the old standby metal models covering what isn't in plastic yet. Go get some, don't let it be "dead".

Kodiak or Pirhanna. Everything else is a waste of time

What are these called? Where can I get figurines of mech warrior stuff? I hate that gundam and zoids shit that floods /mecha

Who needs to hide when you are the mountain?

I like the hellbringer and summoner.

How would Jow Forums fix mechwarrior gameplay? Currently the armor, weapon and damage models are too simplistic for any of the mechs to work as they are described to. Armor being represented as a simple HP value always leads to boating of many weak weapons while assault mechs can't tank anything in multi mech fights as they can easily be focused fired by any light and medium mechs. The lack of any recoil and stabilization mechanics also cripple official variant loadouts. Weapons rigidly fixed to the torso magically retain full stabilization when on the move and do not transmit any sort of recoil as a result shoving weapons in the torso is almost always superior.

I think something more like the damage modeling in war thunder would be better however battletech has more weapon types that need a purpose. The way battletech autocannons function is a little unclear as range decreases with size, probably they could be modeled the same as war thunder, depending on armor thickness, range and angle they either penetrate or bounce. Missiles are presumably just HEAT and can be modeled with relatively high penetration but poor damage to internal components. Lasers and PPC is what I'm uncertain of, the best idea I have come up with is that they are unable to penetrate but the thickness of armor where they impact is reduced until the mech is easily destroyed by kinetic weapons or nothing is left and energy weapons can hit internals. Armor would be done on a per polygon basis while the standard battletech layout would be fine for internal structure, components would have physical locations so you would have to actually aim at them rather than shooting at general locations and RNG deciding what was damaged.

*DHS's your path*

I like Zaku for several reasons.
I like the fact that they are pretty much anthropomorphic which is important since humans are very well designed.
I love the fact that their arms are just arms and not some weapons. It makes much more sense to have them as such instead of making the whole thing less adaptable to the battlefield.

Overal their design look something in between Nazi Germany and Urss, which makes sense given the period of the anime.

The only thing that I hate are those spikes in the shoulders....just why.

I strongly suspect that people who say they like Battletech are just pretending.

That said, my favourite was a mech that was viable only for a couple of months in MWO, and which everyone besides me thought was a retarded build: the Streak SRM boat Catapault with jump jets and an oversized engine.
In its prime it was an overweight evil piece of shit, faster and more manouverable than it was supposed to be, and capable of just vacuuming up every single light mech in the match while out-sustaining mediums if it ever needed to, and picking off the wounded.

Obviously it couldn't stand up to heavies and assaults, but if you played it like a medium and knew how lights think it could reliably get the top score in every game just by being a sadistic predator.

The tabletop and lore are where it's at. I would go so far to say that BT has the best lore of any non-historical wargame.

I'll always value Tau for getting me out of wh40k. I stopped playing (buying) to save up for them after they were announced, and in the meantime realised that I have no friends and never enjoyed a single game, so I quit.

I too wish the learn the lessons of Mont'ka

Even during the Clan Invasion, clan warriors targeted the men with the katanas first because their killing power was feared and respected.

does anybody have any of the superFX-style rotating chicken mech gifs or that banner which was a shitty grainy pixellated Catapault pouring an endless barrage of missiles onto a shitty grainy pixellated (i think) Awesome?

The OYW has such a great aesthetic

The fuck are you talking about? Titanfall 2 was better in every way pretty much. I played a shit ton of Titanfall 1 as well.

You don't. A large part of the appeal of Battletech is that it is a universe where defense has surpassed offense, hence why their armor has such extreme ablative qualities that they act as HP bars. This allows for its unique gameplay quirks and focus on loading down their vehicles with big arrays of weapons rather than the biggest single gun they can mount. All of the rest are abstracted and built into the weapon weights, hence why ballistic weapons are so heavy.

>the superFX-style rotating chicken mech gifs
I only have the link to the super fx chicken robot mechwarrior game demo video

please someone supply the chicken mech hangar gifs

1 had far better Lore and world building with all the fluff they gave us and in 2 we barely got any and mp balance is fucked if know how to play you can just fly around with smgs and 40 bomb easily also still butt hurt about the complete lack of interesting weapon specific attachments from the first game also the grunts tf2 grunts are a travesty in 2

youtu.be/mTboVRUSTOU

My vote goes the the Griffin with the pair of l srm6s and the erppc

Titanfall 1's lore was barely there. Just flavor text. Titanfall 2 had a full campaign. As for MP balance yo're obvious shit if you think SMGs are the best weapons. LSTAR, Mastiff, Cold War, Soft Ball and EPG were all viable options that were more fun. SMGs were for shitters.

Na man 86% win rate with the cold war and if you think that smgs aren't fucked I dont know what to tell you they nullify assault rifles almost entirely save the g2 that has no recoil at all

>No one who regularly plays Titanfall 2 played the first game much if at all and I can guarantee that.

Sounds like I just don’t fucking exist then. I’ve played both extensively but prefer 2 since 1 got boring after a bit. There are certain niche things I wish would change (like the pilot boarding scenes being in third person now)

I miss titanshields the battery stealing is a pretty shit replacement imo since you can 180punch them before they can react

Tangentially related... still playing this. Never gets old for me. Turn based strategy.

Attached: Cyberstorm15Jan101852.jpg (812x671, 98K)

Mirin turn based is kino

You checked out any of the Valkyria Chronicles games? 1 and 4 are on Steam, they're a weird mash up of turn based strategy and third person shooter with some RPG elements thrown in. As for the setting, it's an alternate history WW2, all the names are different,(Axis=Eastern imperial alliance, allies=Atlantic Federation)but it's otherwise pretty much WW2, but anime. First game is set in notFinland during the not Winter War, with you controlling a bunch of conscripts defending not Finland. 4 is you controlling a squad of Atlantic Federation rangers corps soldiers during the campaign to push the empire out of their territory, then blitzkrieg to the empire's capital.

Thats easy. Shadowcat.
>>mobility is just a meme

Note the actual meaning of: generic-in-atmosphere-FPS

It means that Titanfall 2 is not bad, but without any truly appealing or unique atmosphere. Think CoD skins, eSports, Overwatch, etc.

While Titanfall 2 may have been expensive to create, large in scope, and feature-rich, but none of that is worth anything when it's blatantly obvious that the passion has been ripped from the series to appeal to more people. I don't care how much lore or story there is if all of it is an uninspired, ugly mess. Titanfall 2 is a barely coherent and disgusting corporate extraction of what was once a good idea with a terrible execution. All I'm really trying to say is that Titanfall 2 has so much stupid shit in it that was not present in Titanfall 1. The original felt much more real when you weren't having pink mech sword fights and robot-bonding campaigns.

Went and broke these out just because I knew I had them around. Been years since I've even owned a pair of A40s but I still have these. Good times.

This nigger gets it.

Attached: IMG_20181025_013309[1].jpg (2448x3264, 1.55M)

>but without any truly appealing or unique atmosphere
idk man. fundamentally it's a fps, and for me the genre is defined by the early stuff which pushed the boundaries and genuinely created a unique experience for the players

doom at one point was installed on more ibm/compatibles than fucking windows for this reason. it was something genuinely new

that one world factory level in titanfall 2 was maybe the first time i've been impressed by a shooter in ten years

>ctrl-f and not one uziel
You people are all uncultured savages.

Attached: uzeil2.gif (191x205, 15K)

My trothkin

You're entitled to your opinions but I'm afraid your opinions are shit m8

And Titanfall 2 has nothing new in the way of atmosphere, my point exactly. In fact, they went in the complete opposite direction and began pulling atmosphere from other games with things like swords, skins, and animations.
